I usually dont write any review online. But the service from this moving company is horrible and terrible. I wish this rating can pick 0 star. I placed my estimate inquired over the phone 4 days before appointment day, after 2 days, the person whom does an estimate told me that she cannot able to keep our appointment because conflict from her earlier appointment, and she asked me a whole bunch of questions over the phone, such like how many estimates I had from other moving companies, average price from other estimates. After I told her we had 2 done and one come with flat rate price. She said it is not a professional estimate to giving out flat rate as local move. I asked her whether she could stop by and calculate the items that I have and estimate how much from her company as hourly rate. She said she can do it with specific day and time, however, 30 minutes before the 2nd appointment, she called me and told me that she cant fulfill her appointment with her personal issue, our appointment was reschedule on 3rd time. 45 minutes before the 3rd appointment, she called me again, and asked the same questions again as she asked at the first time with how many estimates we did and how much we got average, and keep telling me it would waste her time to stop by because some companies gave me a flat rate that her company cannot match the flat rate price. It was totally frustrated and unacceptable that she doesnt even know how much the other company have quote me as flat rate, and how many items that we should move in order for her to make a determination. Her service is unprofessional, unable to fulfill her appointments again and again, finding lots of excuses to customer, not reliable. As an estimator, she is the front door service to customers to build up first image to the company, she is totally unqualified, unprofessional, unreliable. How would a customer feel confidence to make business with such a company to hire a staff like her! Especially as a moving company, customer service, confidence, reliable service are priority to make customers to be trusted and leave their personal belong to move by them. The service we experienced was totally not even meet the basic customer service a company should be. Dont waste your time to deal with them, just waste your money and time, you put your moving items on someones hand whom is not reliable and unprofessional. You paid for it, you desert to receive a better service.

Carmac – The best movers in town!!! I’m a lecturer and recently I had to shift to my new campus in Arizona from Virginia. I loved the idea of testing new waters but I had no idea about how am I gonna pack all my books, furniture and other valuables and transporting those safely to my new home in AZ. The advice I got from all my friends were to hire a moving company, I didn’t like the idea at first as I had really bad experience in the past with an unprofessional moving company. And this is where I heard about the Carmac from a friend who had used their service and was immensely pleased about it. So I decided to check them before hiring. The moment I spoke to the Carmac customer support, I must say I was impressed. The lady who answered the phone was extremely polite, friendly and knew her information. Once I booked an appointment, an officer from Carmac came to assess the stuff I had to move and gave me a quotation, which was very reasonable. On the day of shifting, the laborers and a supervisor from Carmac came to my home on time and started packing. I must say they were expertise in the field. I had some antique furniture and I was a bit worried about the safety of the pieces. But the team assured me that every single piece of furniture will be moved with maximum safety and zero damage; and they did it!!! The laborers had a sound knowledge on these kind of furniture and their delicate packing methods were convincing. No bulging, throwing or shoving. Each package and piece was handed with utmost care. I must say that the way the Carmac crew and staff conducted their duties were way beyond my expectations. And whenever I need or had to recommend a moving and storage company – CARMAC will be the only one! Thank you Carmac for the excellent job.

Carmack Moving and Storage is as good as it gets when it comes to moving companies. I was recently moving from the D.C. area to Virginia, and they provided great service from start to finish. When I first called them to get a quote and see if they would be available to help me, they were friendly, professional, and extremely organized. I was blown away; most of the other companies that I spoke with were much less courteous and didn’t seem to have it all together. Carmack went out of their way to give me all of the information I needed; anticipating my questions and actually having the answers was a big plus to me. They provided me with cost saving tips for my move and remained consistent from the first call until the last call. The price I paid ($900) was extremely fair and was lower than other moving companies in the area that I called first. I was doing my move on a budget, but never at any point felt like I was working with a budget moving team; these guys are awesome at their jobs. On the day of the move, the moving crew arrived on time, and were ready to get to work right away. They were extremely hard working and moved my belongings with care, packing everything logically (which made unpacking much easier for me). The truck was packed quickly and efficiently, which showed me that the crew really knew what they were doing. This left us the entire day to unpack our things and get settled in.

Carmack Moving & Storage is the best. I’ve used them several times now, for both personal and business, and wouldn’t think of calling anyone else. They are professional, on time, and on quote. You work with your Sales Rep for quoting and scheduling. On moving day, you work with your Team Lead, tell him what you want/need, you do this one time and there is no need to explain it again to anyone else. The ladies in the office are efficient and willing to assist no matter what your need. The first time I used them, I thought that I would do some of the work ahead of time, so I chose to pack in order to get a cheaper rate. However, on moving day, everything was still not packed. They came in and made very short work of what I had been spending days on. Won’t make that mistake again. I just recently saw the history of Carmack and see that they started in 1985 with just one 1972 pickup truck. This is a family owned and operated business and that kind of growth just doesn’t happen by providing anything but the best of service. I despise moving, and will always call on Carmack to make the madness bearable. I suggest that you do the same.

Carmack did an EXCELLENT job for us.They stored our goods (all 18,000 lbs.)for us for a year and a half while we got settled on the west coast. Our goods were delivered, on the day we agreed, when we said go ahead. The office staff is wonderful to work with. The men who moved our "stuff" and unpacked it for us (also placing furniture where we wanted -we live in a town house with lots of floors and stairs) were professional and competent. Everything was perfect! There were no surprises. The fee was as we had agreed. If you do not want any moving headaches - hire this company. Rob you run a great ship!!! Thank you.
