Arlington Motorcar did an excellent job with a quick fix I needed for my 2003 Discovery: The throttle body heater plate/gasket had clearly gone bad (did some research online first) and I was noticeably loosing coolant (you could see it steaming up off the engine from under the hood). Knowing Arlington Motorcar were Land Rover specialists (I actually used to go to them for oil changes and other routine maintenance when they were still in Arlington), I called them up to get a quote and see if they had the throttle body heater plate in stock. The owner said he would let me know and get back to me with a quote shortly. In less than 10 minutes, he called back letting me know the part was in stock and provided a very reasonable quote with labor. I asked if I could come in later that day to fix it, and we scheduled a time. The tech got started right away and the labor estimate was spot on at exactly 1.5 hours. The part was also priced appropriately, actually cheaper than what I expected (I always look them up first on Atlantic British etc first). Overall very pleased with the price, service, and speed. It was great to get same day service. Everyone in the office was also very friendly, including Elliot and Shaun (the owner). The tech was also friendly, fielding some questions I had about the throttle cables etc. after the fix. If you have a Land Rover (especially a Discovery), I would highly recommend them.

I took my vehicle to Arlington Motorcar in Tysons Corner, who specialize in Land Rover service repairs. They looked at the rear differential motor and agreed it was in tact. Instead they discovered that the Rear Differential Control Module (RDCM) was fried and needed to be replaced. By replacing the RDCM, this exposed the root cause problem: my vehicle was emitting diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) of P0729, P0730, P0734 and P0735. These DTCs were documented in Land Rover Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) #LTB00514 from Jan 17, 2013 as an indication that internal lead free stator bush wear causing loss of pressure on E clutch. The net? Either repair the unit or replace the ZF 6HP Automatic Transmission. I chose the latter and the vehicle now runs fine. The folks at Arlington Motorcar were awesome: unlike many other service centers they were transparent, they kept me updated throughout the process and treated the car as if it were their own. They contacted Eriksson Industries that specialize and are authorized in building ZF transmissions which kept my costs at minimum and came with a two-year warranty. If you have a Land Rover that is not on warranty and potentially needs service, I would strongly recommend taking your vehicle to Arlington Motorcar in Tysons Corner, VA.

Arlington Motorcar Service is like a home away from home, with brothers who look out for you. I recently moved to the NoVA area and on a reconnaissance mission last summer, my car broke down. Shaun, Bill and Elliot took great pride in their business, service and expertise and were very willing to be helpful on a human level. I had major steering issues, and they had the car ready for me the next day. Since moving to NoVA, I have brought my car back to AMS and I have been very pleased with their diagnostics, service and repair costs. Most notable, is the AMS level of honesty. Of all of the reasons to return to a business, I would rank honesty and integrity as priority. These gentlemen have earned my business and a huge measure of gratitude. It is a privilege to write a glowing review on behalf of Arlington Motorcar Service.

This past weekend a pothole destroyed my tire. So bad that, I had to pull off to the closest mechanic place to get it fixed right away. I pulled into the parking lot of Arlington Motorcar Service and went around back and asked if anyone would be able to help me. Without any hesitation, Paul & Lary quickly came to my rescue. Not only did they change my tire, but instead of putting on my spare, they were able to locate a gently-used tire in their shop that I could have. I was thrilled! So within about 30 mins these two guys not only stopped what they were in the middle of doing, but they saved me lots of money. Customer Service was A+. They really managed to turn my day around, couldnt be more grateful!

I was very satisfied with the work AMS did on my FJ80. They installed ARB bumpers plus raising the truck by 2 inches. They communicated clearly the expectations and when the job will be completed. A minor scratch on the bumper from shipment of the ARB bumper was quickly remedied. There was a minor delay on ordering parts because payment was credit to my order immediately. All in all I will return for additional work on the truck whenever I need to. Thanks again and keep up the good work.

Eliot did an outstanding spur the moment shampoo job for me. My son had thrown up in my nice new BRZ and I needed to get it cleaned right away. He was very great at communicating and even stopped by my work to assess the damage. He thoroughly explained what he would do to kill the smell and followed through with it. I would definitely recommend these guys, and will use them again in the future if I need a detail done.

I was more than satisfied with the professionalism and service provided by the staff at AMS. They were friendly, courteous, and honest. It is refreshing to actually receive customer service for a change. I felt like I wasnt just a number (as I have when Ive gone to the dealership) and I was treated with respect. Thank you AMS!! You are now the only mechanics I would trust with my Rover!!

Guys there are excellent! I have an LR3, and got an estimate from a local dealership to address some issues.. AMS was 1/2 the price, and even gave me a ride home when I dropped the car off. They will do whatever is necessary to get the job done right. I highly recommend them and will continue to use them for the LR3 and our MiniCooper. Bill and Team, thanks for all your hard work!

Did a simple oil change but they were very customer oriented and friendly. They were knowledgeable and work on all types of cars, not just Land Rovers. I would recommend them.
