Read the fine print! This was my first visit to Firestone, and based on my initial impression I would not recommend using them for any service, aside from the lifetime alignment, which is a decent value if you plan to keep your vehicle for a long time. I arrived at 3 PM for a scheduled appointment for an alignment, and was told that the car before me was having problems getting aligned and was still on the rack. I asked how much longer it would be. I was not given a specific answer, simply that they can "take a long time to get right if a vehicle has been lowered or lifted". After a 30 minute wait, I was told that they were pulling my car in. Not a big deal. My alignment seemed to take all of 10 minutes before I saw it being pulled out of the shop. I thought it was awfully quick, but assumed it wasnt that far off to begin with. It came time to pay, and my total was more than expected. I asked why the cost was so much more than anticipated, and was told there was tax and "shop fees". When I asked what the shop fees were for, and where its stated that there will be an additional charge. I was informed it was for "rags and things" and the clerk pointed at a sign posted in the lobby which had very fine print. Needless to say I was irritated, but paid. I also found it odd that I did not receive an invoice to review charges until after the payment was processed. Im sure it could have been provided had I asked, but feel this is done by the company specifically to conceal charges like this. In addition, no "complementary safety check" was provided. I was given a blank sheet attached to my alignment measurements with everything they would have checked. They also indicated my windshield was cracked, which it is not. In fact, it was just replaced. They also advertise that the vehicle will be road tested after an alignment. It was driven straight to a parking stall. Does that count? After doing more research when I left, I found that they do list a 6% charge on every invoice over $35 for "shop fees" up to a maximum of $25. I found this in the fine print on a coupon I had, of all places. Not transparent about charges at all. I was contacted by the shop manager (presumably) Dan. He apologized that they missed the courtesy check and that they would be happy to complete it if I come back in, and give me a free oil change as well. I told him based on my experience I would not trust my vehicle to get an oil change at his shop. He laughed, and told me they "do about 50,000 oil changes a day". I explained that I had overheard someone in the shop ask if a vehicle had oil in it. He said yes, they were just making sure before they drove out. To me, its a red flag, maybe a mistake was made in the past and now they have to double check every car.

Covington, WA Firestone. A couple months ago, we had our axles replaced - $400. They did a good job and the price was okay, so we came back to have my brakes done when they were metal to metal. It needed new drums, calipers and everything, which we figured would be what happened. $700. More than we had expected, but I guess thats what prices are nowadays. My husband (who was an auto tech before he became disabled) took the car to the store and noticed that brake fluid was leaking and the brake light was on. He took it back to have them check it out and they said they didnt have time. As for the brake light, he said to just drive it around and it should go off. My husband knows it would only take a few minutes to check and when he was in the industry, this would not have been an acceptable answer. My husband took a ball point pen to the float, which made the light go out. Anyone who wasnt an auto tech wouldnt have known to do that and would have just had to keep driving around with the light on. After spending that much money, it should have been checked out and THEN if it would take more time than a few minutes, tell us to bring it back. We wont go there again. My husband will check for the leak. Thats not the problem, could happen to anyone. The problem is they wouldnt take a few minutes to just look at it. Wednesday, my husband went to have them fix it, and they did. Still not sure if wed ever go back to them, but except for this they have done good work. Pretty high priced, but I think thats probably everyone.

Not fully satisfied with my service here. Maybe regretting my lifetime alignment service purchased, but Ill try another location. I requested an air pressure check on my tires since the warning light was on, and I was in there for an alignment check after the tire guys at costco had warned me that it looked like my tires were wearing incorrectly, and referred me to the Covington Firestone. I couldnt make it in for a month and wasnt driving my car much, and then my pressure light came on again when the temp changed, so I went in to Firestone, and I was glad to hear they gave me a discount with my Costco referral. I left and the light was still on for the tire pressure, and the back right tire still looked slightly low, so I popped in and asked if they checked the air pressure, and he assured me they did. I went straight over to Costco and asked them if they could check it and lo and behold the back right tire was low. I thought maybe there was a leak...but it has been fine since, a few weeks later. I called to tell them of my dissatisfaction and they said to bring my car in if I had any problems with the tire and they would repair it at no cost. No thanks, I buy my tires at Costco and they take good care of me. Anyway, just be thorough and make sure they do what they say they are doing. My alignment seems a little off already, so I may pop into a different location and see what they say. Maybe, hopefully, it was just an off day for them, or a weird bummer coincidence for me...

My partners car (Scion) began making a disturbing clicking rattle. She brought it in to Firestone to have it looked it on a Thursday, the same day the sound began. They told her it was a loose alternator, but not to worry, theyd tightened it down. When she picks up her car, the sound is still there. So she goes back in to ask why. They told her the loose alternator had damaged the air compressor on the aid conditioner, but unless she wanted to fix that for 1.5k, not a problem, even if it did sound something like a "model T." (Itd never sounded like that before.) Well, she drove the car to work the next day (a Friday). The sound grew progressively worse and more alarming. Long story short, after work she decided that maybe it was time for a new car (something shed been considering) rather than put 1.5k into a new air conditioning unit. On her drive to a new car dealer something FELL OFF her car at high way speed. Who knows what? She traded in the car for scrap instead of its 2k blue book value.
