This review is solely based on unpleasant customer service received at the front desk today. I did not get to tour the gym, therefore I cannot comment on the amenities as well as the workout equipments. My dad has been a member of this gym since they opened. My dad and I stopped by yesterday to sign my mom up for a membership and since I do not live in Olympia and was just visiting my parents for a week, I was put on a VIP list under my moms account, which gives me access to the gym for 2 weeks. At this time, I wasnt told that picture identification is required in order for me to utilize the VIP guest pass. Today, my mom and I decided to check out a yoga class here while my dad does his routine workout. My dad drove us, therefore I didnt feel that I needed to carry ID on me since my intention was to just do an hour of yoga and leave. Upon checking in, the front desk denied my access because I didnt have an ID. I explained to them that I was just here yesterday, crossed path with Shar, who is a manager sitting up front, and asked Shar if she could get me through. She was well acquainted with my dad, even came up to us yesterday to talk about new membership deals. They asked for my phone number and asked my name if that phone number matches my name and it did. However, that wasnt enough. Shar was so stern on legal issues of me being there without ID to verify. Now, I was stuck in a situation where all three of us (dad, mom and myself) had to turn around and go back home. I even explained to them where Im from in the cities, this wasnt a problem as I have experience as VIP guest before, I even had a membership here and there with LA fitness. We couldnt believe the lack of loyalty to the long time member of the gym, my dad, AND a NEW member, my mom. If a new member had just sign up, you would want to leave a good first impression, but Shar seem to not care too much about that. My mom canceled her membership at the spot thinking if this is how the customers are treated then ought to go somewhere else. My dad asked Shar as nice as he can to see if his daughter can just get through and bring the ID next time but she still was so concern of legal issues. My dad had no choice. Hed been a member forever and he also canceled at the spot. In conclusion, Shar had lost two members only because the listed VIP guest didnt have ID when I was NEVER told ID was required. I can proudly say Im pretty good at remembering things like bringing ID when required. If the salesperson had told me yesterday that ID was required, I wouldnt have been in that situation. I told Shar that and she would rather lose two members then get me through the front desk. I understand that there may be "legal issues" of a guest with no ID get through, but I was here YESTERDAY and Shar even spoke with me, so I wasnt a total stranger. I dont know what person would do business this way.

Would Taylor Swift workout here? Yes she would.....As a university student, I often come here to lift things up and put them down during the summer/winter months when Im not taking classes or working. Having been burned by other chain gyms in regards to cancellation issues and fraudulent charges, I was hesitant to sign up with these guys.Thankfully Lacey LA Fitness seems to be the exception; theyve always been straightforward in regards to my short membership and have consistently delivered professionally on their end.Signup process was markedly transparent.The staff highlighted any particulars that might be of note in regards to my situation. Bear in mind this is a bilateral contract and it is your responsibility to inform and voice any circumstances or question to the other party. PROTIP: Most complaints are about issues of billing after cancellation. The staff explicitly and repeatedly state that you must cancel before the next billing date and the most reliable way is to MAIL IN YOUR CANCELATION FORM to LA FITNESS CORPORATE and have it postmarked well before the next billing cycle. The procedures are also in your contract, which I can only assume no one reads. PROS: -Signup was transparent. - Clean -Sanitary -Great Vibe and Atmosphere -Lots of Equipment -Staff is friendly and professional. -Knowledgable Trainers - Would Taylor Swift workout here....yes she would. CONS: - First world problem of no Wifi.....tears bro..tears. - Crowd varies from young adult, 25+, to the kind of old that seems to have neglected Buffalo Bills public service announcement to put the lotion on its skin. Discernibly non-univ. folk; have yet to meet any other undergrads. - Many a Curlbro; - Curlbros curling in squat racks. - Curlbros load up too much weight and squat with signature terrible form and ROM,usually 2-3 inches, that is proportional to their manhood. - Curlbros proceed to scream and audibly let everyone know they are squatting 2-3in. - Most people think curlbros are passing a kidney stone while some believe the screams are a cathartic attempt that both recreates and overcomes with what they heard in the delivery room when their SOs decided to forgoe the epidural....they world may never know. In summation, Ive had a good experience with this Lacey branch and have yet to bear witness to anything negative nor do I expect to;though ought any occur, Ill be sure to adjust my review as per the wishes of the Brin, the Page and the Holy Google. Having been hurt financially by other gyms, these guys are a welcome respite.

The facility is nice. My review is more geared toward their billing person, Winter i believe her name was. In customer service i think suggestions should be gladly welcomed and she didnt seem to accept my suggestion. My suggestion was they should be able to fax or email quotes on year long memberships. I am fortunate enough to have financial assistance to become a member of a gym. I just kindly stated that Anytime Fitness you can get a year quote and pricing online and same with Lacey Ultimate Fitness. Instead of saying why thank you for your suggestion maam i will tell anyone who cares (or something u know). She had a lil bit of an attitude about i can just come in because i am goign to work out anyway, and its super easy, and it doesnt take that. Okay fine but same with emailing or faxing it. this way I could have turned in paperwork and started the process and they could have had a year membership paid asap. IDK i think she might be a young chick. Im just saying if a customer makes a suggestion on how their service could make it more convenient for them, just say thank for suggestion and blah blah. Dont try have last word with me miss winter because customers suggestions should be gladly welcomed. Think she is a younging. BUT no excuse, i feel. I worked many years with the public and have very high expectations and I probably will not use LA Fitness just because the bad experience i initially had on the phone with Winter. LUFC here i come. Winter if it wasnt you my bad. who ever works in billing.

DO NOT BECOME A MEMBER HERE! Being a military family when I signed up I was told " oh no worries when you PCS you can freeze your account, at NO cost! " Went to freeze my account today, in the confirmation Email it said Im being charged $10 per month of the freeze duration! I called, told them I was told the incorrect information by their staff member. The guy on the phone DIDNT DO ANYTHING! THIS FACILITY DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOU! The guy on the phone tonight was NOT professional, lacked empathy and AT THE VERY LEAST should of asked what employee gave me the MAJORLY INCORRECT INFORMATION so this would not happen to another customer. Instead I get told "oh well" PS This gym is filthy! Update : From the other reviews, I see that Shar gets negative reviews. After meeting with her the next day after the horrible in counters I had with the staff I feel it only right to state: Shar is the ONLY good thing Ive in countered with this establishment. From interacting with her today, I can firmly say she may come across as strict to others, but realize she does not make the rules, but she sure as heck follows them! Understand she is merely setting an example for her staff. This establishment is lucky to have her - treat her well cause shes the only good thing about this place!
