We just changed to Suburb Service, after using other mechanics during the 240,000 miles we drove our 2000 manual Forester which wed bought new in 1999. Heres why we changed: For example, the manual clutch on our 2000 Forester was shuddering the first two times we used the clutch every day. Debbie and Candy said, "Not to worry - it was put in wrong by the other guys but wont do any damage - it will just cause the morning shudders. Just drive the car until the regular time to change the clutch." Thats terrific good news for us. For example, the automatic transmission on my recently acquired 2003 Forester was shifting late. I was told by my prior regular shop of 8 years to replace it - at cost of $1,000 for used or $5,000 for new. But Suburb Service test drove and explained to me why diagnosis of other shop was incorrect - and then Suburb Service did one free thing to bring that sucker into good operating condition, meaning I am still driving the old AT with no problems. For example, I had a loud roar from below the 2003 Forester. Debbie said caused by bad install of replacement catalytic converter by a different mechanic. Debbie had me go to a welder for a sound and cheap fix. A free loaner car is usually available, i.e., only sometimes do I need to wait extra day to bring in my car in order for a loaner to be available. This is a terrific benefit. Did I say free? Yes I did - just replace the gas you use - great deal. I recently lost my car key in their loaner. Two days later they called me to say theyd found it. Yeah, more good news. Suburb Service answers all my questions. This means a lot to me because Ive been through 16 years of maintenance cycles / repairs with our 2000 Forester with other shops. The Suburb Service ladies are gear heads who enjoy their customers and seemingly derive satisfaction from keeping their customers on the road safely and affordably. Debbie and Candy seem to live Subaru - they speak in ways my other shop never did. Also, I never see anything but Subarus on their lot. These folks seem to enjoy what they do and it feels good to be around them.

I’ve taken my Subaru Forester to Suburb Service (“All we do is Subaru”) for at least 7 years now, and I’ve found them to be reliable, responsive, and more than fair. A few examples out of many I could cite: When I said I’d like to replace the failed clock above the rear-view mirror, the owner said, “You don’t want to do that. The labor’s too expensive. Just buy a little clock and stick it on the dash.” When I’d been driving with my emergency brake slightly engaged, leading to brake fluid overheating and a loss of brake power, I called Suburb Service; the owner did a quick diagnostic over the phone, told me to stay put, called a tow truck for me, and had the car towed to their shop. When I had semi-flat tire that became totally flat as I was driving to a tire store, I called SS; the owner and a mechanic came to me to change to my spare so that I could continue to the tire store. Incredibly, she didn’t even charge me for the personal service, simply saying that I’m a good customer! When I replace this Forester, one major reason to buy another Subaru will be that I can still go to Suburb Service!

Where do I start? Okay with the welcoming desk: Thoughtful, knowledgeable thorough and kind. The "boss" is beyond description; finally here is a person in charge who actually knows the product, the product needs and how to proceed. Encouraging your input, of course, she will follow through as needed. While Ive never been in the "back room", the result of their work on numerous occasions has been impressive. Finally, the prices are fair and the explanation of the services rendered most understandable to me, the customer. Suburb Service might not be the easiest place to find, if you are not familiar with Lake City Way. But as a directionally impaired person, I just Googled Suburb Service and was there within a short period of time.

I took my car there for the first time for a valve job and head gasket replacement. It was an expensive job, but there were two things I really appreciated. (1) They worked with me on the price and it was more than fair. (2) a few days later my radiator hose blew a leak. it could have been related to the repair due to the extra pressure, so they took the initiative, paid to have my car towed from my home to the shop, diagnosed the problem and took care of me without any additional charge. They were honorable and kept me happy even with a loaner car. I HIGHLY recommend this shop for their honesty and integrity. Even the tow truck driver recommended them!!

Ive only been to Suburb twice, but it appears to be great. My first visit, two guys in the waiting area were raving. So that already gave me confidence. They are friendly there. After my oil change on the first visit, they convinced me to do my upcoming 60K service on my 11 Outback with them for about 2/3 the price of the dealer. I did that and was *very* satisfied. They fixed my leaking sunroof perfectly too. The car seemed to actually run better and much more lively, and the service was quick and thorough. Nice to get a loaner too. Im done with the dealers at this point. Highly recommend these ladies (and gents too).

Wow these folks are amazing! Ive only used them twice so far and they have saved me some Royal $$$, by informing me of extended warranty coverage unbeknown to me on my 2011 Outback. On my first visit while getting an oil change I requested a tire rotation and was prepared to pay for that, but my 4000 yearly mileage vehicle didnt require it and they had the kindness and integrity to pass the savings on to me. Ill definitely be back and will highly recommend. Finally a place you can feel at ease! :). I am very grateful you have a customer for life!

All Subaru all the way. Candy the owner amazing knowledge. Debbie the service writer knows her stuff as well. Neil is an amazing tech and Reene is the only female master Subaru tech in the nation over 25 years. They are very open and honest. They take you in the shop show you the issues and explain them throughly. Give you options and priority on what is urgent and what can wait. Prices are fair and competitive. They have loaner cars as well. It took me a good year to find a great shop and I travel 30 to 40 mins just to go to them.

I have been taking my 2005 Outback XT to Suburb Service for several years. They helped me when the turbo went out (twice) and even got Subaru to refund me some of the money for the second, defective turbo. They have helped me with several issues that have cropped up in my older car. The folks at Suburb Service know their stuff. They are always helpful, the service is fast, and if you need a loaner car they have them to offer. Their service surpasses any Ive received at other shops. I highly recommend Suburb Service.
