6/24/10: Being a woman and having owned cars for more than 50 years I have had my share of bad experiences with auto repair people. All that has changed. I am never going to anyone but Thad, Jarid & Pancho at (Longview) Midas from now on. They limit their focus to those things you bring to their attention - and do not try to sell you anything and I noticed they did this with everyone - and never gave anyone a bums rush - regardless of how long it took to explain their cars problems. Besides being excellent technicians, they were friendly and kind. They explained things to me until I understood them, all with patience and truthfulness. Jarid showed me my brakes and explained in great detail the fact that they were just fine and that I didnt need new ones (the reason I went there to begin with.) Too, they went waaaaay beyond expectation and did things for me and my car that they didnt even charge for! While waiting for my car and having to return for installation of a new part which needed to be delivered, I noticed that all the customers (and there were lots of us that day) with 1 exception, were all women. Just a coincidence? I dont think so. Speaking for myself, it really takes the bite out of paying for car repairs with my hard-earned money when my car and I are treated as well as we were by the owner and crew of Longviews Midas. They put a smile on my face despite the problems I was having with my car. I have used other Midas shops in the past and never did any rise to the quality of this Midas shop. May they continue to do good things for Longview residents for a long, long, long time. I give them FIVE STARS and my cars repairs for life!

Went there to get a tune up on my 1998 Ford Ranger and I am not too happy. I paid 300 dollars and all they did was change the spark plugs. They said they said they changed the wires too, however, all they changed was the caps on the coil, the wires running from plugs to the coil are the same wires that were previously on there. And my truck is still missing. This is why I dont trust the chain gang. On top of that, the actual mechanic who did the "tune up" is the person who took the money and gave me change OUT OF HIS OWN POCKET!!! Update: Was cleaning out the throttle body and found that one of the wires IS BROKE!! The wires are very dirty and you can tell they have been on the truck for quite some time. They are liars and they are ripping people off

We went to midas to have them replace our head lights and they told us it would be about half an hour. So we waited for half an hour and we went and checked on how far they had gotten to find out that they were still working on the first head light. So then we waited for another half hour and they still had not finished replacing the first headlight. So we just told them to forget it and to put the old one back in and it took them another half hour to just do that. Then after that we left and when i got home i looked at the light and noticed that they had broken our grill when they were trying to replace the headlight. So after that experience i will never go to midas for anything and would never recommend it to anyone looking for a professional job.

Took my car in because the exhaust was ripped off, asked them to fix it, they never did a full inspection on the exhaust, replaced a small 3 inch long piece of pipe and charged $60 for the piece. With them not doing an inspection they missed the exhaust being ripped away from the flange to the header which then was an open header, and cause for more of an exhaust leak. They refused to make things right and I had to bring it to another shop to have it fixed. The guy was extremely rude and kept interrupting me when I was trying to explain what happened. I will never go back and wouldnt advise anyone else to. They are not professional in anything they do.

Today was the last time I will set foot in this place. I called from another shop to get a price on having them install brake pads and rotors on my truck (I was supplying parts) and was quoted $60 over the phone. Arrived, checked in, and waited for 45 minutes to get the truck in. The mechanic took one look at it and told her she had quoted the wrong price. My quote went up MORE THAN FIVE TIMES the original quote. The best part? The new quote was DOUBLE the price of the first shop I was at when I called Midas originally and it was now too late to get back before the first shop closed. Midas as a company has lost my business forever.

We were very leery about using Midas since it is a chain, and we have newer model cars. But, they had the best price in town for an oil change - it included tire rotation, full point inspection, and all fluids. We were pleasantly surprised. They were quick friendly an honest. The owner is wonderful. He is knowledgeable and works with his customers to provide the best service at the best prices. We now have all our car maintenance and service done through them. I am glad we tried them out, our cars have never ran better.

This store just tried to rip my wife off big time. Brought in a car that they said needs a new water pump and told her it was gonna be $530 to fix it. When she asked why so high they said the water pump alone costs $300. I called to confirm and Amy told me the same thing. I called a parts store and the part is $39. Plus she doesnt even have a water pump issue... DO NOT do business with them they try and rip people off when they think you dont know anything about cars!

Just came in today cause I love Midas but this Midas has a very poor attitude to start lady was on her phone or watching something while I was asking questions, werent talking nice about the job I had done, killed my engine, started it three times, men stepped all over my rims, charged me 60 for an 80 dollar job I already did, got on it when test driving it that pissed me off!!

Prices for parts were outrageous and they would not do the muffler job unless I was willing to buy parts that were not even broken yet. The same project they quoted $1200 to do was done in Vancouver for $250. I may try again for a more reasonable quote next time.

They tried over charging me for services they didnt do, i watched them the whole time and then they tried saying there was a lot of other stuff they did which they didnt. Longview midas is the kind of shop you worry about going to

Was told they do free estimates and when I went in to get an estimate on something simple on my car they wanted to charge me to even talk to them. Better places in town to go to, do not go here.
