I dont usually write reviews but I wanted to for Eastside Auto because of how great they are. I have a long, infuriating history of bad experiences with auto repair shops. As someone who is obsessively protective and extremely particular about his car, this is the only shop I trust. My quality standards are incredibly high (think perfection) but Eastside is able to hit the mark every time. Bill the owner is always a pleasure to work with. Hes honest, personable, highly skilled, and cares about his customers and his work. A few weeks ago I had my car in to have the negative ground wire and chassis ground bolt replaced. I would have done it myself but I accidently rounded off the nut fastening the negative cable to the chassis. Because of the location of the ground point and damage done to the nut, it required a bit of creativity and good attention to detail to fix. Normally, for a job like this, the ground point would be relocated to another part of the chassis--which, in my opinion, is sloppy. I told Bill that I wanted to use the original ground point, and he did just that. He was able to fix the original ground point without a problem. It looked factory new. His workmanship is impeccable. Another time, I had the rear suspension done on my car. The parts that were replaced had never been replaced before. My car is 18 years old and spent most of her life in NY, so getting the old parts off was a huge undertaking due to rust. This job was actually how I found Eastside. Prior to them, I had another garage start this job. They got halfway through before refusing to perform any additional work due to what they considered "severe" rust. (My car does not have "severe" rust. Id be happy to show them what a car from the salt belt with "severe" rust looks like.) Bill gladly accepted this job despite my forewarning of rust. The job was completed successfully despite some hiccups, and to my seemingly impossible standard of quality. Eastside is somewhat expensive but all of their work is backed by a three year warranty and a team of highly skilled and competent mechanics who take pride in their work. In my experience, finding competent mechanics who care is like finding a needle in a haystack.

My 2000 Chrysler Cirrus car had "check engine" sign on for a while. I noticed that it was due to oil leak around engine somewhere. After 2 fixes in Midas for $1000+, and the car still leak oil and "check engine" light was still on after few months. Finally I decided to try something new. I picked a car repair shop "Eastside Auto Care" in Redmond based on customer review on web, the owner Dave spent 10-15 min diagnosed my car and told me that his tool suggested my car had transmission problem. He would refer me to Bellevue Transmission. I was not sure what I was going to face. I decided to give a try assuming it wont be worse than my Midas experience. I got in an appointment for next day and I dropped my car in the morning. 2 hours later, I received a call from this shop. I was told that their mechanic found the problem that causing the oil leak, he fixed it and added more oil in. OK, seems they were much faster than many other shops I visited before. And then... I was anxiously waiting to hear about my price. I could not believe what I heard, I was told that it would be free of charge. $0. I offered to cover some labor cost, not accepted. This afternoon, I was not able to focus on my work when I was back to office. This was my first free auto service after owning several cars for 20+ years, moving from OH, VA, MD to CA and WA. Yes, I did feel excited about saving of many hundred dollars, but more. I finally felt this is a town I belong to after living here for 6+years. I pictured myself in a one street small town, surrounded by honest people; know which shop to go for service and never concern about quality and price. I am so glad I found a network of honest people, who provides high quality service of auto care, and more, they make you feel like you are the next door neighbor who can be trusted. This will be my go to shop for auto repair.

I have a 1988 Toyota Pickup that died of unknown causes in drive. I spent 2 weeks going over it attempting to fix the issue; sparkplugs, fuel pump, fuel filter, etc… Could not find the cause and it ended up in a mess of taken apart parts, lost bolts and messed-up spark plugs holes. It was beyond my technical ability. I had a friend AAA it to this shop; I got it recommended to me by a friend with the promise of a thorough diagnostic. I wanted to spend as little money as I could and know if it was something I can fix. I dropped it off late and after hours with the mess of parts thrown in the bed. They got right onto it in the morning and gave me a call by 10 am. I came in and for about 100 dollars I had a concise answer and part list. I decided it was too much for me to do in my friend’s driveway so I got a quote for the repairs. The bill was only for new timing components and distributors. But to my surprise when I came in and paid the original invoice, for free with no hassle they gave me new brake pads, a rotor and battery terminals. They did a great job, left my parts clean and grease-free. I am very happy with East Side Auto and I will return with all my heaps of automotive problems.

If you are reading this I assume you are researching a good place to take your vehicle, I am the same way. In short, they saved me over $600 and got everything done in 1 day. Long story - After a lot of research, I landed on this place and now happily drive over an hour to see them whenever I need to. Recently I went in for my 100k checkup and needed to get several repairs done for my SUV. I confidently dropped my car off at night to go out of town for a few days. The next day, after several conversations with Carlos we negotiated a fair price, I got a call the very next afternoon saying my car was done. I was in absolute shock. I go to pickup my car and am greeted by the owner; their was a misunderstanding between Carlos and I about the final cost due to sales tax. I expected to pay this difference but the owner gave me the tax off AND an additional discount. I have never been more confident, happy, and assured in who I am taking my car to and will recommend anyone to this place.

This is the best and only place to take a vehicle for maintenance or repairs in the area. Ever since I put a new engine and after market headers on my 83 GMC truck I have had a lot of issues with the header gasket blowing out. At least once a year they would blow out and I would struggle to find someone to fix it, other mechanics tries different gaskets, and recommended buying different headers, etc. The mechanic before I brought it here said it would cost me over $700. What?? Thats just for gaskets. Anyway I found Eastside Auto I took my 1983 GMC truck in to them after a phone quote of around $270 for BOTH gaskets out the door. Dropped it off picked it up next day after work and it was done just like they said but the total after all taxes etc was $247. That was 2 years ago and the gaskets are still holding up with no leaks which is why I decided to write this review today. Highly recommend them if you are hesitant dont be they are knowledgeable and professional and fair.
