This guy is very honest. I came in because the CEL was on and the ODBII reader said it was a pressure problem. It looked over my head to fix so I brought it in here, bracing myself for a really big bill. Boy was I surprised to hear from this shop a few hours later that it was a loose air hose, and I would be charged the minimum, which was an hour of work at the shop rate! He said if it came back on it might mean replacing a charcoal cannister, which would be big bucks. I think some less scrupulous mechanics would have just replaced the cannister after tightening the hose to make some money, as some in my industry would replace a lock instead of fixing or replacing the inexpensive broken part. It is great to find a mechanic who shares the same ethics in charging customers the minimum necessary for work, and I reward him by leaving a review for his business here and elsewhere and also telling people about my great experience. Thanks for your honesty and fast turnaround.

I have had my Toyota truck worked on three times at this shop. I have been mightily impressed with them each time, and would not take my truck anywhere else. They replaced my water pump for half the price that the dealer wanted. The other two times in they diagnosed what I thought were going to be costly problems, and fixed them for minimal cost. I really like these guys. They have several excellent qualities that are rare among auto mechanics: 1) They are very reasonable priced. 2) They are unfailingly honest. They will NOT do work that doesnt need to be done, and they will save you money. 3) They can always get you in quickly and will usually complete the work the same day. 4) Tony is very friendly and very polite. No condescension, no bull$hit, no lies, no run-around. They pay attention to your concerns and address them competently and honestly. Take your vehicle here, you will be very happy you did.

I had a replacement piece of my rear wheel assembly installed by this shop since I did not have the time or tools or knowledge to do it myself. Im not sure whether it really was installed or not since the squeaking sound the rear wheel made in that area when braking never went away. I suppose it may not have been the correct part to replace, but when I removed the rear wheel, it looked like the old part was still there. Furthermore, my car was broken into the night I got my car back and my stereo and subwoofer/amp were stolen. I have always been curious if it was this shop or not since it was a clean break in w/o dents, broken parts, etc. My door appeared to have been unlocked and relocked in the process making me wonder if a duplicate key was made at the shop. They also would have had my address...

I found out about these folks from a friend who is so frugal that he wants to do all of his car repairs himself. He says that for $25, these guys diagnosed the problem, told him what parts he would need and how to fix his own car. The first time I went, they advised me to take my car to Toyota because it was something they were fixing for free. The second time, I was prepared to pay $1500 for a problem that they fixed for $40. The last time, I thought I had oil leaking into my exhaust - they then gave me an education on why it looks that way - but that I wasnt actually losing any oil. I now realize my mistake. They advised me to have my oil changed more often. Another outfit would have milked me for thousands. Im building a lot of trust with these guys. I like them.

This shop is all that car owners hope for: honest, fairly priced, and efficient. I own a 97 Camry, and after racking up 150,000+ miles (3000 of those while driving across the country) my engine started having trouble while on the road. While on the road back to seattle, we went to a few repairmen - all of them quoting ridiculously high-priced repairs. I decided to forgo the repairs and eventually found #1 in Seattle. After he took a look at it, he told me it was only the ignition coils and asked to fix it. Worked like a charm. Extremely honest. Ive brought my beauty back to him every time since, and he always gives me fairly priced quotes on repairs.

The previous owners of my Subaru recommended No. 1 Japanese Auto Repair. I trusted their opinion based on the care and maintenance of the car they sold me. No. 1 is amazing! As a single woman who knows a limited amount about automotives I am so grateful for a business that operates with such honesty, transparency and integrity. No. 1 has always given me straightforward information, never tried to gouge me. They give honest recommendations with realistic time frames and no scare tactics. I highly recommend them and plan on using them for all my automotive needs.

I first went to Tonys shop when I was in the process of getting cheated on a starter motor problem at a nearby auto shop. It was my lucky day finding Tony! He repaired the starter motor where the other place had quoted me one price and tried to double it for replacing the motor. Since then I go there any time my cars need maintenance. If you want a competent, honest repair center you just cant do any better than these guys.

I had to replace the clutch in my 4Runner. I called about 6 different places in seattle that specialized in Japanese vehicles. This one was by far the least expensive. I dropped off the car on a thursday morning and was able to pick it up the next morning. Toni sped up the estimated repair time because i needed to take my 4Runner out of town that friday. My SUV works great now. Thanks Toni.

I have had two nice experiences with this shop. I took an older truck in for diagnosis and repair and both guys seem to be honest and fair with their suggestions. They scheduled me quickly and worked around my schedule. They even suggested I hold off on more work for my truck which I found refreshingly honest. I plan to come back when I need work on my cars.

Number 1 is the truth. This place is all about good Karma! Been in twice and I havent come across a more honest mechanic in the 15 years Ive lived in Seattle. He does only exactly whats necessary and is clear about when other repairs and potential problems need to be taken care of. This will be the place I take my car from now on.

Tony is the most capable and honest Auto repairman ive found!! i am driving my 1998 Honda Crv and Tonys the best at keeping it running like new!!! Tony even advised me that i could wait another 20,000 miles to get my Timing belt replaced!! He could have done the work and made the money... but he is an honest guy!

I went to Tony at No. 1 for several repairs to my beloved 1991 Toyota 4 Runner. Tony was fair an honest with me about the repairs that needed to be made. Prices were reasonable, and work was great. I was happy paying for good work. I only wish Tony could take care of my new Ford! Thank you Tony.
