I had three leaks on my roof and called Tacoma roofing. Talked to them on a Mon and told them of my problem and they said they would contact me when they had someone available later that day. I told them I did not get off work till 3:00. Never heard from them that day. Got a call the next day saying they were at my front door. I told the person that was calling that I had told them the day before that I did not get off work till 3:00 and there was no one home. So they sent the crew away. 5 min later I got a call from some guy that said that they were at my door again and I told him that there was no one home till 3:00. Then I told him I could call my neighbor and she could let them in. I called my neighbor and told her to let them in and she said that here was no one at my house so I call him back and ask him what was the address he had and it was the right address but I told him there was no one at the house. Then he told me that he was not part of the crew and he would contact them and call me back. Never heard from him the rest of the day. Next day my neighbor called me and said the roofers were at my front door again. So she let them in to look at the problem. This was suppose to just be a evaluation of the problem BUT not to fix the roof with out my approval. To my surprise I got a call the next day from two of my neighbor saying that the roofers were at my house again for the third day in a row! I called them and told them that there crew had been out yesterday and had already fixed it? Very bad communication between there people. They told me the first day that I called it would be $390. And if it took longer it was go up. Well they were there a hour. I got my bill and it was $492.75!!! The funniest thing about this experience with this company is that the roof still leaks in all the same spots!! I have called them twice. But not heard from them? I no this is a very long review but just wanted to get my point across that this is not a way to run a company. I would not recommend this company!!

I contacted Bruce Hunter at Tacoma Roofing and Waterproofing and scheduled an inspection of the 6 month old roof of a commercial building in Fife, WA. There had not been any notable leaks during that 6 month time period and the roof looked in good condition. The inspection was quoted to cost about $500. Allen Sensel, an estimator/project manager and another gentleman arrived on a Friday afternoon and spent several hours on the roof. When they came off the roof, Allen said there were a number of problems and that it needed some serious repair. He said they would send an email with the full report and photos. At 3:00PM I opened an email that was sent at about 1:00 to find the report and photos that showed a horrible mess with gaping holes in the roofing material. There was no repair cost quoted but during a phone conservation I was told the cost would be in the thousands. A quote from Bruce in the report "If you want us to repair this roof, due to severity of the conditions of this roof and the damage that you could obtain, we could start Monday, of next week." Monday morning I arrived to find cascades of water running off the ceiling and down the walls inside the building by the bucketful. Frantic calls to Bruce resulted in a crew showing up and spending several hours on the roof repairing the gaping holes and seams. After they were finished, the roof looked the same as it did prior to their arrival the previous Friday. I contacted two water damage companies and received quotes of about $5000 to tear out drywall, remove insulation and dry out the walls and ceiling. I now have a pending claim with my insurance company and a letter from Tacoma Roofings attorney and part owner Steven Bobman that says in part "You never hired them to perform any services or repair the roof" and "If you intend to take legal action we will countersue for frivolous lawsuit and I suspect you will be paying the attorneys fees." In 39 years of doing business in Tacoma, I have not had a worse nor a more costly experience.

A COMPANY WHOS OWNER IS HIGH ON INTEGRITY AND #1 ON QUALITY CONTROL! Ive known Bruce since 1987. I finished up my military career at Fort Lewis as a highly decorated soldier transferring here to the Great North West from The Berlin Brigade in Germany. Shortly after meeting Bruce I was left with an impression that has stayed with me for many, many years. He has worked on many homes for family and friends of mine. NEVER have we had any complaints. Over the years Bruce has donated many roofs to low income families. This man cares about people, and over the years Ive had the opportunity to work with this gentleman on several major projects. A few that quickly come to mind are. 1. An enormous apartment complex project in Issaquah above the Home Depot area. I witnessed Bruce driving out to the site working hand in hand with superintendents, foremens and crews, giving instructions in on site meetings, and going over plans and protocols demanding the highest quality of excellence, performance, appearance, dedication and standards. The project was a huge success. 2. A gymnasium roof for a High School in Sumner where his employees worked everyday well into the night, Bruce would show up unannounced any day or night, that serious about standards. He doesnt have to but he does. This is how Bruce operates all day, everyday, he is all about the quality of work, and taking great care of his customers. After high wind storms, Bruce would deployed teams in 1st alert mode in vans and trucks to assist clients, and someone always on standby for possible wind damaged related calls. After completing a project whether commercial or residential Bruce always has a Q&A (quality control) Specialist return to the location the very next morning to verify the craftsmanship, walking with camera and notepad in hand, as well as inspecting the grounds for cleanliness of the premises. Bruce is a man of God, and a man who I will stake my own reputation on and my trust in. Steve

**Update** After my comments Tacoma Roofing & Waterproofing contacted me and wanted to make things right. They have sent their best roofers to make the repairs and the manager has personally verified the work. I originally gave them a one star review but because they have made things right I have changed it to a three star. Original Post I recently bought a brand new house that had its roof installed by Tacoma Roofing & Waterproofing. To say I’m disappointed would be an understatement, since the purchase of our home (about 2 years) we have had three significant issues with their roof. The first issue happened during a mild storm, I had 2 shingles blow completely off the roof. The second issue we had was with the shingles along the roofs edge had begun to separate from the roof along the gutter. I called Tacoma Roofing & Waterproofing to come out and fix both issues with the shingles. I found the receptionist to be very polite and I will say they did responded in a timely manner. However, when the roofer showed up I requested prior to starting any work that he provide me an assessment of the damage and an estimate of the repair. I never received a phone call so I assumed the repair was covered under warranty. Two weeks later I received a $350.00 bill in the mail for the repairs. I called the office and complained about not receiving an estimate and that they performed the repair without my consent. The manager apologized via the receptionist and waived the bill. With that all said you could only image my frustration when we discovered last night that we have a leak in our roof and water has begun to run down my walls. I have another roofing company scheduled to come out to asses my two year old roof and make repairs as needed. I wouldn’t recommend this roofing company to anyone and wish we could give negative stars, better yet a black hole.
