This place is proof that God has a sense of humour! No seriously, this place, like someone wrote below, is a complete joke! I went in with a leak on my radiator hose. I knew it was so badly off and that i would need a new one. The tech informed me they would need to run a full coolant evaluation to ensure no new leaks or misses sprung. (Fair enough). I agreed to pay the $35 fee for this. An whole hour & a 1/2 later, they said they found several items listed below, and thats just the coolant. If i chose to do em all, (and they insisted that i must), $700 bucks. If i chose to do just the original hose leak, $135...(FYI, i got a second opinion from a Mercedes tech. He said those extras were not due for several months) I told them ill do just the hose for now. After another 20min, the tech( Jordan) then went on to say how he needed to order the part for next day delivery. I agreed to this and set up an appointment for 11 a.m. Next day was like Laurel and Hardy meets Charlie Chaplin! The part was NEVER orderd, all i got from the new tech was that "oops i think he (Jordan) forgot to order it for u". I demanded to see the manager, he instead sent me his peer tech. I yelled more and Finaly some dude (not sure if manager) shows up all confused and unapologetic and mumbles how he will order it. Again. He promised to have it in by 2 p.m. I said ill be in at 4. He called at 4.15 to say it hadnt bn deliverd at 2 as promised but will be in in 15 minutes. I get there 4.40 p.m. They all stare at me....one on the phone, one pacing around, one on computer. I walk out with disgust and head home. I call on the phone to yell at their unprofessionalism & demanor. Some woman answers saying those earlier desk techs were gone for the day. I explain my need for the hose & if it was still there. (A rare hose to find coz its for a vintageish mercedes). She says yes it is, come and get it. On my way over i call back while in the car to ask the price again so that i could pass by the ATM. Some dude answers and says the hose was not available and if i had bn told it was, he need to go look for it. I hold on the line for 14 min...I give up, hang up and went back home, boiling with anger, disgust and SMFH to write this review. Pepboys, clean ur image. Clean ur act. Re-train ur employees if need be....I work in the service industry too and i always give 110, not 100. That extra 10 is what makes my signature mine. But knowing cooperate chain stores like this one, this plea will fall on deaf ears.

I just want to say that before this experience they have actually been pretty solid. They were on the "Good" to "Very Good" scale. However, this time they have seriously done wrong by me. I go in to get a oil change, new windshield wipers, and a new air filter (around $64) and I leave my car there to get lunch. They call back and tell me that my oil plug has been stripped and that I would need a new one. The part with labor would cost around $292 which had me baffled. Nonetheless, I said if it had to be done it had to be done. Then, when I get there and wait for my car to finish (I dropped it off at noon, and by this time it was 3pm) a rather sheepish looking gentleman informed me that it was not only my oil plug, but my OIL PAN that had been striped. He informed me that now the price would about $505 and that he would need another hour to get it fixed. He also had a guilty look on his face and said he would talk to the manager and see what he could do about price. So, I ask them to let me know when it is finished. They never called. I waited two hours until closing time (6pm) and decided to call them myself and see how it was coming along. It had been done and they didnt give me a call. I go there and the price is actually around $565, so it went UP and I assumed that the "chat with the manager" was only to keep me from backing out entirely. Not only that, they didnt give me my windshield wipers and offered to get them but by that point I had enough and thanked them but said "no thanks" and headed out. They had wiped out my savings of a few months in a matter of hours. Anyway, when it comes to oil changes and air filter changes, they do pretty well. When it comes to larger jobs like this? I say dont put any faith in them. They could have put the plug on my oil pan. It was stripped, but there was still enough thread to put it back on. It felt like they ordered the part, couldnt return it, and wanted to stick me with the cost because they didnt bother to check everything before ordering the first part. Thinking about it now, this wasnt the first time they tried to tack on other costs. They did this with my truck years ago. The only thing is that I started to trust them a bit too much. I probably wont go back to them for a few years. They got their money out of me and they can have it. Now I know better, and I hope after reading this you all know better too. DO. NOT. TRUST. THEM. BEYOND. A. OIL. CHANGE.

I usually do not post, or rate businesses low, but I am so upset at the complete lack of knowledge by their mechanics and lack of customer service, here we go. I took my fully restored truck ($20K in the restoration alone) to this sorry excuse for a mechanic shop to get my brakes looked at and adjusted. I gave the symptoms (pulls to the left when braking, right wheel rattles, brakes squeak, soft brake pedal) I left my truck there all day 10am to 6pm. They supposedly replaced the brake fluid because of sediment in the lines. I let that one slide, although I put in all new fluids when I reassembled my truck less than 5 months ago. I got a call saying itt was ready, went to pick it up, went down the street and it still pulls to the left, right wheel makes a rattling noise, brakes squeak, soft brake pedal! WTH?! I took it back and got the usual run around, shift change, original tech was not here, didnt know what the status was, and tried to tell me I needed new rotors, wheel bearings, and an alignment...ALL OF THAT STUFF IS BRAND NEW! When they saw that I knew what I was talking about, they started to double-talk, deflect responsibility, not attempt to resolve, etc. I will not be returning to this crappy establishment. The techs are amateurs, the service personnel are amateurs, and there is zero accountability. Please beware! I ended up eating the cost of leaving my truck for 8 hours for it to go on a ride on their lift ($80) with none of my issues resolved. LESSON LEARNED.

My boyfriend and I came in today for a simple synthetic oil change on his Chrysler 300. They website guaranteed the service would be completed in half an hour or LESS! We had a 10 AM appointment which we arrived and checked in 15 minutes early. They didnt take the car into the bay until10:15. We waited in the disgusting lobby for 45 minutes. I had to use the bathroom but I honestly chose to wait until we left because it looked like it hasnt been cleaned in months. Around 11 the tech came out, with my fiancee air filter saying it needed to be replaced. There was a giant oil spot as if theyd just intentially got oil on it to have us pay for another service we probably didnt need in the first place. My fiance agreed to pay the extra to have them put in a new one which ended up taking an extra half hour. After theyd finished they pulled the car around to the front and walked to another customer. We had to go up to the counter and ask if it was finished. No one came to get us and let us know the car service was completed. I will never ever be going back OR recommend this specific pep boys to anyone. If youre interested in using Pep Boys for their half hour guarantee if reconsider if I were you, they have terrible service, filthy store, and definitely try to convince you theres more problems than there really is just to get more money. STAY AWAY FROM PEP BOYS! I REALLY WISH I COULD POST THIS WITHOUT GIVING A SINGLE STAR. MY REAL RATING IS 0 STARS OUT OF 5 Google just wont allow that.
