Ive been to two locations with the same car, 2 months apart for Safety I/M. Both locations pulled the same routine: removed my air filter to show it to me, told me my coolant was slightly low, and my accessory belts were frayed. Heres the problem with that: The air filter is 2 weeks old, the belts are 2 weeks old, the coolant is two weeks old and isnt leaking. I helped my roommate choose this car, then I replaced the clutch and went over all the maintenance in-depth. I performed an informal safety I/M in the garage. I have a scanner and I was a certified Safety I/M inspector 2 years ago. I let my certification expire because I work in a different field now but I still have the training manual. The reason for two inspections is because after it passed the first time, my roommate went home to Indiana, stayed longer than expected and the safety I/M expired before she got it registered. On Fort Union I took the car in with the expired papers. The young tech told me it will probably fail because the hole in the muffler (previously owner drilled a hole for the sound). He then told me the car has 6 O2 sensors including two in the muffler. (OBD2 Civics have 2) I laughed and said I would bring it later if he doesnt want to test it. If it fails, the egg is on my face. I started to drive away but he stopped me and seemed apologetic so I let him do it. Nevertheless, it passed emissions but he failed the safety on the muffler. This is after they passed it at the other location on 700E and they didnt mention it was a problem at this particular location previously. He failed me to save his pride I suppose. Tomorrow I will replace the muffler and get my Safety. DONT THINK that just because this is a national chain - that theyre honest. They nickel and dime you with nonsense while overlooking legitimate issues. If they had suggested my black brake fluid should be bled, I would have let them do it. Bleeding brakes w/out a partner isnt fun. Instead they want to top up your coolant, replace good belts and a good air filter. No thanks. The only reason I go here is because of the coupon. Its foolish to offer a coupon because the state regulates the max price you can charge for Safety I/M. Their strategy is to trump up illegitimate charges. Very lazy and crooked. Every car needs something. Theyre too lazy and inept to earn money honestly.

Heres the problem: I shouldnt have to go into a business to get a simple job done and immediately get bombarded with what is described as "Signature Service." I want my oil and transmission fluid taken care of. Im seated in the lobby and told that someone, "will be right with me." Then, a teenage boy comes in and announces that he needs to speak with the owner of the *insert car type here* like Ive done something wrong and we need to take care of it. Im then told that the cost of getting the service that I want done is going to cost so much, BUT if that price changes he will come and get me. Like Im expected to agree on one price, but I HAVE to accept the updated price once theyre already done with the job. I stonewalled the kid and told him that he wasnt going to pull that with me. I told him to get to work on the car and stop trying to upsell me on anything. After they were done with my car, one of the senior people there actually came and talked to me and we had a good conversation. He could tell that I was annoyed and I cant complain with how he treated me, he was honest and straightforward. Its the only reason Im giving this company 3 stars, its not his fault. This is beside the point, though. Jiffy Lube Corporate policy forces their employees to be sneaky, manipulative, and dishonest. Its a disservice to their employees, rude to the customers, and a clear sign that this company is out to rip you off. And theyre teaching their employees how to do it at a young age. God Bless Corporate America. If you want your oil changed, go somewhere else. If youre convinced that the transparent facade of Jiffy Lubes "Signature Service" is just as transparent as it seems, boycott them. And, if you truly believe that Jiffy Lubes truly doing you a favor as a consumer and customer, stick the shotgun in your mouth and pull the trigger with your toes; because youre an idiot.

I would rate you a 0 but you dont have it. I have been going to Jiffy Lube for 10 + years and it has been this last year that they have had crappy service, people that dont know what theyre doing they have broke two things on my car. My car is a 2005, Im the second owner the first owner took excellent care of it. The first thing they broke was my dipstick the little handle on the end they tried telling me it was just laying there, B.S. the way the engine sits in there it would have been long gone there is nothing for it to "sit on" when I went in for my next oil change they showed me my air cleaner to ask if I wanted it replaced, I told them no theres nothing wrong with that one and I have a K&N air filter my son put it in for me. The 3" dia. hose that goes to the air filter box they had broke one of the clips and now it does not seal tite. It specifically says on the air cleaner box to look at owners manual before changing, they failed to do this also. I dont know what their problem is, its like they are hiring people that say "Im a mechanic" well backup your words. they have now lost 2 more life-long customers and anybody else I can get to boycott this place that knows nothing what they are doing. Good riddance to a No Good Company that does nothing but f*** up your vehicle and then will not take responsibility for their actions, they say it was already like that or you must have done it. Jiffy Lube sucks if you want your car f***** up go to them!

I usually change my oil myself, but I went to this Jiffy Lube after buying a used vehicle, since I needed an oil change, new windshield wipers, coolants topped off etc. The entire time I was there, the men at the station were gawking at me, making inappropriate comments (not directed at me, but clearly audible). Anytime they wanted to ask me a question, or get clarification on something the man would stand extremely close and "accidentally" brushed against me a couple of times (also, it is an oil change--since when does that involve 20 questions?). Then they severely overcharged me--claiming that my car needed 6 quarts (it takes 3+ some of a 4th) of oil and they put in synthetic (or charged me for it) after I specifically asked them not to. I ended up paying roughly double what I should have simply to get out of a very uncomfortable and threatening situation. I was treated horribly from beginning to end, simply because I am a woman. I am not a mechanic, but I DO know the basics of car maintenance...being treated like a rube and taken advantage of would have been horrible enough, but being harassed is inexcusable. After reading a few of the reviews below, it seems that I am not the only one who has been overcharged. It looks like they are coning people they think wont know any better.
