For years Cable One was the only provider for high speed internet I could get because of my geographic location. I was at the base of a tall hill to the south and east so many of the radio based providers, such as Bulleri and Comspeed, could not be had. Cable one has jerked me around some through the years. False file sharing accusations, slow speeds when the ground is wet, random internet drops for a few hours at a shot, to to me those are an acceptable trade off. Take a look at it from their perspective. They have hundreds of miles of cable main line to upkeep in the Prescott area alone and, being I lived in an older stretch, water on the line isnt surprising. As for the DMCA complaint they have to by law allow access to your information if a formal complaint is filed with them and your ip address is attached. My complaint was for a photo I posted on a forum. I am a photographer by trade and it was a photo I myself took. A company bought limited rights to one of my photos for an advertisement. They saw the photo on the forum shortly after their ad went public. I explained to both Cable One and the client who I was and the charge was dropped. No harm. Cable one is just protecting their, and the clients butt by allowing the reporting to be done. As stated I am a photographer by trade and, as such, I work with very big files and I move lots of them through each month as I digitally order prints from my print house. On average I move 300 gigabytes a month. I can safely say I have never been throttled back or cut for my usage. I time my uploads for 0230 or so as the speeds are fastest and the slow down from my transfers do not effect anyone else. If one is considerate to others and their connection you will never have an issue with this internet service provider. Cable one has a 15 year customer here giving them 5 stars and two thumbs up. I hope for another 15 years of wonderful service.

If I could give CableOne 0 stars I would. Have been a CableOne hostage in Prescott for about 2 years now. Service was good at first but now were down to about 3Mbps (of promised 50Mbs) during evening hours. Meanwhile theyre now advertising a new 100Gbps service! Not sure how they pull that off since they can only deliver 3Mbps. In reality they cant - they just take more money and deliver the same 1990s era Internet speeds. Calling support at this point is essentially useless. Was told by a rep this evening that they are fully aware that this is a capacity/equipment problem in Prescott and that the problem is definitely all on their end. Apparently the rep was not physically in Prescott as he said the information available to him was limited and that I should visit my local CableOne office to find out more (?!?!) So in the Internet age, the solution to a problem with your ISP (in Prescott) is to get in your car and physically go down to your local CableOne office during normal business hours to timidly inquire when they might start investing in upgrades and delivering a respectable fraction of what theyre advertising. I say Im a hostage because CableOne is virtually the only game in town- likely the reason they feel unmotivated to fix ongoing problems for the huge number of dissatisfied customers. CenturyLink is available here too but a recent test at a neighbors house confirms that their service is about as bad as CableOnes at this time (though cheaper at least!) Bottom line: during evening hours youre better off tethering to a 3G/LTE plan on your iDevice than relying CableOnes horrid internet service. Unfortunately the only reasonable alternative is to just live somewhere else that actually has one or more decent ISPs.

I recently moved back from WA state after being up there for two years. Prior to that I had been a Cable One customer for15 years. While in WA I lived in the sticks and I had a DSL line provided by Century Link. All I had hooked up to it was my desktop computer and I was mortified by their charges and service. My credit ratings are over 800 on all three services and they have the audacity to turn my last bill over to a collection agency because in their 19th century accounting system it showed I owed them money; when, in fact they owed me money. I refused to pay it of course and we are now ready to go to court over it; not because of the amount but because of the principle. I digress. I am so pleased to be back with my old friend Cable one. Every company can have problems; its how they are handled that is important. Cable one has excellent tech support people that have always solved my problems and their customer support people at the Prescott office are extremely courteous, knowledgeable, and I love to chat with them if they have the time. There are other services that provide faster services with more technical options but this company provides all that I need plus. Totally satisfied, especially compared with the nightmare I am going through, after almost a year, with Century Link who I would rate with negative stars if they exist. Have no qualms with joining the Cable one team, they are the best in this area by far.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. There are often problems with their cable and internet service, so I have had to call in several times to deal with them. You have to jump through hoops to get ahold of an actual person on the phone, then that person doesnt care about the technical problems and they have been very rude to me on several occasions. I actually lost a rental tenant because they got so tired of the internet and cable issues with Cable ONE. Their technicians are always booked (working on failures in their system), so if you make an appointment with them, dont expect it to be anytime soon. On the day of the appointment, they call from a restricted number, but if you miss it even by a minute, they immediately cancel the appointment and you have no way of calling them back since it was restricted. The only way you can contact them is to get back on the phone with their automated system and try to reschedule for an even later date. We had a data plan that was supposed to be "unlimited," but that actually meant it was 750GB. With a 9-bedroom rental house, it is easy to reach that limit, especially when its students living on the property. They advertise "no overage fees, whatsoever," but what they do instead is force you to buy a more expensive plan if you go over your limit three times in the same year. Overall, this is a terrible company with terrible internet and cable and even worse customer service.

I signed up with Cable One because of the internet speeds and the fact that they were one of the only companies that serviced my home. I live with three other people and we all play pretty intense online games. I chose the fastest internet available for the cheapest price because I didnt want to pay to have slower internet when there would be four of us online at the same time. My first experiences with them werent that great since it took them almost three weeks of repeatedly coming over and re-scheduling for them to get the internet functioning correctly. Bunch of idiots, if you ask me. And then I come to find out after a month of having the internet with them that they have a data cap. When I called to complain, they said I would need to upgrade to paying $100 (which, btw, is three times the amount im paying now), so I could have the data I needed. When I complained that nothing on their website said anything about the data limits, she told me that there is a link on the bottom of their website (which is tiny and nearly invisible, btw) that talks about data caps. Im not happy with the tricky business practices, their clear disregard for unhappy or displeased customers, nor their service in general because it cuts out randomly and is nowhere near the speed Im paying for. As soon as I find another company, Im calling it quits on Cable ONE because this is NOT worth it.
