STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORAGE COMPANY! In October (2009) I placed a phone call to this company to reserve an 18 x 10 storage unit. Given the amount of items we needed to store, I calculated that this would be exactly what we needed...nothing more, nothing less. I informed the person (Kim) who sold me the unit that I would not be present while our items were moved so I took her word that we were going to receive exactly what she mentioned, an 18 x 10 unit (or 180 Sq. Ft). When I arrived, one week after the move in date, I was informed that not all of our belongings fit in the unit. Considering everything fit in the (approx) 180 Sq Ft moving truck, I was shocked! Come to find out, there was a floor to ceiling cut out of approximately 20 Sq Ft (4 x 5) which appears to be from stairs behind my unit. Of course I was upset that I was "SOLD" an 18x10 (180 Sq Ft) unit OVER THE PHONE but was delivered something more like 160 Sq Ft! The cost was $270/month for the unit. I went to Kim and mentioned that I was less than happy about the perceived bait and switch. I mentioned that this unit is 12.5% LESS than what I was SOLD so I felt it only fair that my monthly payment be reduced by the same percentage ($33.75). Kim (manager) spoke with her manager (also named Kim) and came back with an offer of $10 discount! I countered with $20/mo discount, since they clearly agreed with me (with their first offer) that what I was SOLD was not what was received however they refuse to adequately compensate me. I have yet to get a "manager" to SPEAK with me to resolve this issue. Im not asking for anything other than what is logically fair. Hopefully I wont be using their service for very long. However, it sure would be nice to get adequate compensation for my inconvenience. SO, if they would like to work with me on this, Ill be MORE THAN HAPPY to post their positive response and change my rating. Otherwise, this review will be marked as a 1 star (because you cant select 0).

My family has been using the Aliso Viejo facilites for about 8 years now, and when it was time for me to have a storage unit of my own, I looked no further than this facility. Everytime I go in, Kim and Al know me and my family by name, are very kind, and always know how to brighten someones day. The units are very clean, as I always see Al doing some work. It would be nice if the units had lights, but as long as I bring my flashlight, Im good to go! I have had no problems thus far. I feel safe storing my life there, knowing that there are cameras that are constantly running and recording. I have no problem recommending this facility to any of my other family members or friends. Thank you Kim and Al for all your kindness and generousity throughout the years...Thank You!!!

We searched for local storage locations close to Aliso Viejo and were pleasantly surprised to find Stor-It Self Storage so affordable and close to our home. Today, (12/26/12), we met Kim and Al, the on-site managers. They were very friendly, informative and personally helped us choose the right size for our needs by showing each available space. We were able to quickly decide, complete the paperwork and get ready to complete our move within a couple days. Everything about the facility more than meets our expectations (clean, dry, easy access) and we highly recommend Stor-It Self Storage!

Decent storage unit maintained in good condition, however the employees are not particularly focused on providing a great customer experience. Upon stating that I needed to close my account and move out, the employee on-site grumbled (apparently jokingly?) about "another customer leaving" but they guessed theyd let me do it. When I let them know what my move-out date was going to be (about a week ahead of the date I was paid up through), the employee, unprompted told me to "take my time because I wasnt going to get my money back". Where did that even come from?

I have been renting my storage unit with these people for a year and a half and have been very pleased with my unit and with the staff. The grounds are very clean, well protected and I so appreciate the fact that they have a moving cart available for my use!!!! I have recommended this storage unit company to a friend of mine and wouldnt hesitate to recommend it again!!! Trust me....I have used one off of Moulton and they were far from satisfactory. Thanks Kim and all the others there....youve made this tough time for me, much more easier.

When trying to decide on a storage space, I did my homework and visited quite a number of facilities in south Orange County. Stor-It Self Storage in Aliso Viejo got my vote and gets a big thumbs up! The facility is always spotless; customer service is great; staff is always friendly, courteous, and helpful; and the prices are the most competitive! Kim and Al are very pleasant and do an excellent job at running the facility! I would recommend Stor-It Self Storage to anyone with storage needs near the Aliso Viejo area!

Ive had a unit with them for almost 2 years now. I am yet to have any issue. When I moved in, there were no security cameras and I was told it would be done shortly. In fact, they did so and now the outside is completely monitored 24/7, even though the area is secure enough by itself. They are located in a nice and clean area. The access to both the facility and the units are easy. The best thing about it is that Kim and her husband Al manage the facility. They are very kind and really helpful.

My experience at self storage in Aliso Viejo was excellent. Two days before my move out day, plans changed and at the last minute I had to find a new storage place. I was very stressed out. Once I got to self stor-it at AV, all my stress disappeared. Jim Gentner was very helpful, super friendly, accommodating. Kim and Al are awesome. Very helpful and keep the place very clean. I used to have a storage unit at another location but it was always run down, the office would be closed when it was supposed to be open and the staff was less then helpful. So when I went looking for a new location my criteria was simple. Clean, set hours, nice staff. Stor-It self storage hit all of those KPIs. I recommend this place to anyone looking for self storage short term or long term.
