We purchased a used Mazda 5 with a clean carfax from Folsom Chevrolet. Almost exactly 30 days later the paint on the front bumper was bubbling, then actually peeled off while driving on the freeway. A Mazda dealership inspection found that the bumper was replaced, and poorly done at that. Obviously the vehicle was not inspected prior to going up for sale, or maybe it was and the replaced bumper was not identified to us, but this car was in an accident. I know that we bought the car "As Is" but that was with the knowledge of it having a clean carfax which was provided by Folsom Chevrolet. If a dealership touts itself as honest, it should back it up. The dealership should also inspect their used vehicles and disclose issues before resale. When we called Folsom Chevrolet said they would not assist with the repair/paint of the bumper because we didnt buy the extended warranty at $1800.00 (the car still has two years factory warranty, hence not buying the contract which was about 10% the value of the car). We went to the dealership in person and they relented to paying what they say was half of the cost of repair. We ended up paying $400.00 to have it repainted and reinstalled with someone they referred us to use. Not sure if they were charged; doubt it. We have a 99 Chevy Suburban that we were considering replacing. Wont happen at Folsom Chevrolet. Also, wont buy a used vehicle from any dealership unless it gets inspected first.

My recent experience was awful. Dana the representative did not listen to my concerns and my car ended up staying in the shop for 2 weeks. I brought my car in with transmission issues, however i was told by Dana that he didnt feel anything. I had to go through Kristina after my car was there already a week for her to realize there was a transmission issue covered by the warranty. Kristina was very helpful and professional and was able to get my car fixed and provided me a loaner car to get around the second week. I felt like because im a young woman that my concerns were not taken seriously and addressed. It was obvious the cars transmission was failing but Dana told me nothing was wrong and to continue to drive the car until it gets worse and then bring the car back. This was a long frustrating experience and then when i picked my car up the vehicle had no sound. I had to take my car to another mechanic to get the sound bank on because there was no technician available to check my car for 3 days after i picked my car up. Needless to say i filed a complaint. Its being addressed hopefully but i dont know what the outcome is yet. Im not confident in this dealership at this time. I hope they can regain my confidence. I will say that im thankful for Kristina and that she actually listened to my concerns and got me to a technician to fix my transmission.

0 stars for customer service. Dont expect the Service Department to go out their way to take care of you. I brought my truck in at 7:00 AM when the service department opened for a check engine light. I was told that they "should" be able to get to the truck by 10 or 11 AM. I explained that I needed my truck back or a 4WD that afternoon. Around 1:00 PM, I hadnt heard anything, so I tried calling. I was told that they hadnt gotten to it yet and hoped to get to it "soon". I chose to go and get my truck at that point. I was in a hurry to get my truck back when I arrived, but the service advisor didnt seem to understand my sense of urgency. He even thought he was doing me a favor by offering me a loaner. The loaner he offered wasnt 4WD, and he stated that they didnt have 4WD loaners. Did he forget that I needed 4WD? No, he just didnt care. My customer service experience couldve been much better had the service advisor stated that they wouldnt be able to get to my truck in time, and/or they didnt have 4WD loaners. I also dont think its that hard to plug into the computer and see what the issue is. I took my truck to another dealer, and it turned out to be a simple software update. They couldve fixed my truck in 30 mins. I wouldve been happy and this wouldve been a 5 star review instead of 0. I also left a message with the Service Manager that went unreturned.

WORST SERVICE FROM THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT EVER! My wifes car starting having problems when I was out of town and I had her take here. They told my wife that she had an appoint first thing the next morning for a diagnostic to figure out the problem. When she showed up they said it was going to be a while. After a couple hours they still didnt look at it, so she got a ride home (because Loomis wast to far for their shuttle services). She had to call them right before they closed because she didnt hear anything from them. ANDY was working with her and he said that they didnt even get a chance to look at it, and that he PROMISED to get it on the rack first thing in the morning. Again didnt hear anything back until my wife called at around 3 to check the status and THEY STILL DIDN"T LOOK AT IT. After all that they didnt even find the problem and so she went back and took the car somewhere else. For almost 2 days my wife didnt have a car and we have 3 kids she had to deal with not to mention getting rides and we still have to deal with the car issue. I AM SUPER DISAPPOINTED IN THIS DEALERSHIPS SERVICE DEPARTMENT, VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. I expect this from a smaller mechanics shop but not from a major dealership. They didnt even try to correct the problem, they just said sorry. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME!!!

OK, sit back and relax because this may take a moment. We have been in the market to buy two new vehicles in the past couple of months, one was an SUV and one was a truck. The reason I am giving you that background is because I think I now have a Ph.D. in dealing with dealers. Here is the long and short of it: if you are looking for a Chevrolet vehicle look no further than Folsom Chevrolet, and look no further at Folsom Chevrolet than Jake Chavez. No I am not a shill, getting paid on the side or any other reason than to say as a consumer my faith has been restored in vehicle dealers. I have been through no less than six dealers, four in the Sac area and two in So Cal. Other than Jake and Folsom I have found all the rest are unprofessional, rude, incapable of understanding customer needs or just plain dumb. Jake is none of this and is head and shoulders above his peer group. Jake is a veteran and thanks to Folsom for hiring a vet. It makes a big difference. He found what I wanted, hung in there with me through the end, got me the price I wanted, was professional, intelligent, helpful, insightful, knowledgeable, mature, and took the time to explain the fine features of the vehicle to me and my wife. I would go back there anytime. Great job Jake, great job Folsom for hiring Jake.
