I used to work here and for those wondering, yes, they are severely understaffed. Im not gonna bad mouth my former managers (other than possibly suggest they reaaally need to schedule folks better and, you know, not let people deliver on dog bites and give them a few days off to recover) but some of the carriers there I worked with (note, a small few) were lazy, especially our steward who couldnt finish a route and constantly had to be bailed out by us CCAs. Sometimes they chuck new folks into routes who have never been to the neighborhood. I just dont like the system USPS has to deal with, period. There are some decent, hard-working people here and it does break my heart to see people badmouth my former coworkers and managers. Theyre doing what they can with limited resources and the turn over rate for CCAs is pretty bad. They work so hard, so please, cut them a break. Some of them work seven days straight, you know? Me, I worked 21 days straight, once. If youre having issues, my suggestion to you all is to reach out to the station managers, because they will go out of their way to talk to carriers. I know they did when I messed up. But remember, theyre doing what they can with limited resources. Spencer is awesome and he was great to work under. Jim will get you in the right direction. Jenny will listen to what you have to say. Levi will also listen to your complaints. Please just read this and bare these things in mind. If you need to call them, do it after 10am when folks leave the station and ask for one of these guys if you have concerns. The only reason Im giving this one star is for USPS itself and my old steward who never really did anything for me and my dog bite.

This is the third time within a few months weve had issues! USPS is terrible. The first bad experience we had was with a pair of shoes we were expecting, USPS had it marked as delivered on 10/13, we never received the package. Two days later after starting an investigation, the shoes showed up in the separate mail boxes that are used for larger packages. The second incident was just 2 weeks ago with a tiny package that was small enough to fit inside the mailbox, again the package was marked delivered, we never received it. I called to inquire about it and was told the next day that, they had put it in the bigger mailbox but were unable to find the key for it. Even if that was the case, they should not of marked it as delivered if I have no way retrieve it! Now today, Im home waiting for a package. No one has attempted to deliver anything so, I go check the mail. I see a slip inside saying "Sorry we missed you" with todays date on it, I call the post office where the package was being delivered from and they tell me they will have the person on that rout swing back by. In my opinion, it is just lazy how some of the carriers mark things as delivered when they never even attempted to deliver it, all because they dont feel like getting down off the truck or whatever! Apartment or not, Its your job to make sure people get their mail/packages! If you cant do that the right way, get a different job!

If I could give usps as a whole a zero star I would. I ordered a product online and it was shipped through usps. I paid for 2 day shipping and we are going on the 11th day and I still have not received my package. Since this is something important I ordered I have been following closely on the tracking. Checking multiple times a day. Now heres the issue. My package was being shipped from California to Denver. It was received by the Denver distribution center to be sorted and sent out for selivery. However they chose to send it back to California! I called the 1800 number and of course filed a claim. Now my package is back in Colorado and has been sitting in the same sorting facility for the past two days. I called and I am unable to pick up my package and was told to be patient and wait because there is no way to contact the distribution center and if they email them they have never gotten a responce. Then I was placed on hold when I said thats not good enough. They answered the phone after 10 mins of holding to tell me "sorry I got side tracked and what was I helping you with." Really! Customer service at the 1800 number is a joke as well. They dont help and tell you they will send a claim. Which I have already done and its been a more than 4 days with no call back on the "investigation" of my claim. NEVER WILL USE THEM AGAIN FOR ANYTHING!! I have never had an issue with FedEx or UPS.

I understand most people dont think to review a place like the post office unless they are having issues. So, decided I should put my positive feedback in here. In the past couple months, I have had a couple packages with delivery issues when I track them. On the first, the tracking showed my package was being delivered back to my address, not the address on file. I called Bear Valley and was told that this is a common error, but to give it a day and it should be corrected calming my anxiety. Sure enough the package arrived to the correct address the next day. Today, my package registered as undeliverable. When I called Bear Valley, the person called the carrier directly to see what the problem was. Carrier incorrectly scanned the package that way and hadnt even attempted to deliver yet. Yes, there are problems with the USPS, but the service Ive received when calling this location has been good.

I had a bad experience and cant recommend the Bear Valley station of the United States Postal Service. I paid $18 priority mail to send a box of Halloween candy for my nieces and nephew in Minnesota. I did this at the Bear Valley station on Oct. 24. It was expected to arrive Oct. 27. Its finally being delivered today. For over a week, I tried to track down the package with no success. Now I know why. My family got a note yesterday that they owed $18 for postage. I called the delivery supervisor at the Hopkins, Minnesota, station today to provide proof of purchase. He found the box - there was no postage and no delivery confirmation tracking number on it. He said he thought it probably had been sent bulk mail instead. Ive written the Office of the Consumer Advocate at the USPS to register an official complaint and request a full refund.

Ive lived all over the country and ship and receive a whole lot of mail and packages through multiple carriers. This is one of my favorite USPS post offices to deal with. There are always things going wrong in the shipping and receiving industry, we are just too many people in the world, think about that for just a moment. That being said, this particular branch really goes above and beyond to help out. From the regular delivery person, to his substitutes, to the counter people, and even the management, especially the evening management that personally gave me a call concerning some issues that I had. For the volume that these offices do, to get service with a smile, and great follow up to any issues, its pretty amazing for this branch to keep consistent high standards. Bravo Bear Valley and thank you.
