Dont go here! I have never written a review of a business (pro or con). I am very tolerant and understanding of mistakes....things happen. However, intentional deceit needs to be pointed out. We had our family van in because the wiper transmission broke in November. The wipers were "fixed" and then they broke again on our family vacation in June. We had to alter plans on our last day to get back home since we had to beat the rain. When we returned we took the van back to Midas (Mayfield & Highway 9). I told them it appeared to be the same problem, but if it was not, then I understand. I told them if it was the same problem and if it was a defective part they could not recoup money on, I would be willing to pay....just to give me a square deal . I dropped $300 on wipers 6 months previously. They looked at it and specifically told me that this was NOT the same problem...that is was the "bushings". They wanted to charge another $250 to fix it after they had initially given me a lower estimate. I told them I thought that was steep and that possibly the mechanic should have been more attentive to the problem 6 months ago (wipers cant be that complex). They actually agreed with me, but would not budge on the price. They said they had to order a part. I waited 3 days and apparently the part never showed up. I had to pick up the van as we needed transportation and it was not raining. They had not started. They never called to update me during the 3 days. I brought it back in. They took it apart and "re-ordered"...still no calls, no info....no part....apparently. I told them after the end of another week that I had to have the van and I would pick it up in the evening. They said they would call when the part comes in....I soon discovered they had not put the grill back on and did not put the wiper arms back on. They never called...no part...I finally gave up after another week as I needed to get my wipers fixed! I took it to our normal mechanic and BOOM!, it was fixed same day....he said the transmission was broken....Midas was caught in a bald faced LIE about the nature of the problem...my mechanic (who has nothing to gain) shook his head and said there is no way they could have done this mistakenly. The manager tried to pawn off the blame on his mechanic and said he would "discuss it with corporate". I was painstakingly diplomatic and courteous to these people up until this point. Unbelievable.

Absolutely horrible place. They have no skilled mechanics and they will rip you off. I had a problem with my car air conditioning, this was my first(and of course last) time I went to Midas at this place. I asked them to check first if AC compressor is coming on or not because I know that its not coming on. They said they have to recharge the AC system to check for leaks, I asked can you first check the compressor coming on or not and they said, before they do anything, they have to refill the fryon and recharge the AC system and check for leaks, cost me $120 and guess what there was no leaks and the guy said he doesnt know whats the problem, I asked again, if the compressor coming on? he said, it looks like it is coming on. Then he said I have to bring the car back tomorrow for further diagnosis. I paid $120 and took the car to them next day, after some more time they told me its the Relay for the compressor gone bad and thats why compressor is not coming on. And to replace the relay they said they will have to recharge the AC again which will cost another $120 + replacement of the relay. I didnt know much so I said ok, but then I asked around my in my office and my colleague told me they shouldnt have to recharge the AC twice just to replace the relay. When I went to the shop and asked him, he said the extra $200 is just for placing the relay. ($50 for the relay and $147 for labor) Clearly he was hiding the amount charge of their second time AC refill efforts into the labor cost of Relay replacement, He was getting money from me for their own mistakes and incompetency. I think it was very unethical to take peoples advantage like that. Overall they took $320 from me, just to replace the compressor relay. I would never go back to this place, in fact I have to report to consumer court that Midas is doing this to people. This is wrong and has to be stopped. Not only they are inefficient, unskilled, incompetent, but also they are very arrogant . After coming home I actually checked on You tube, it takes 5 mins to check and replace the relay, and the relay itself cost around $7-$10. Next time I would take time and research online before doing any mechanic work but for now I feel deeply sad that I fell pray for such fraud people and want to help others save their hard earned money from such unethical people.

Before I went here I went to a few other places just to make sure everything they "claim" is wrong with my car is actually wrong with my car. I went in for an oil change and was offered the usual "extras" for things that were potentially wrong with my car. I said no and told them to go ahead and just change the oil. Even though this place offers to do it in $25 they take their sweet time to get it finished. Apparently they told me AFTER my oil had been changed, my rear shock was leaking and my oil pan was stripped....? What.... Since when?!? My oil didnt leak once in the 8 years that Ive owned this car and now its leaking in puddles? Its staining my driveway and trailing in the street.... This is a joke. I called them to make a complaint only to have the manager state that I was "accusing" him when I asked what was wrong and why my car wasnt leaking before. This place used to be good but now its god awful. AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS! Wasted $50 today.... Extremely disappointed. They need to replace this on their time and their money, they caused this to happen themselves and wont own up to it. Plus the manager is a total d*** and will hang up on you so be aware!

I had replaced all my brake pads and rotors over the last year elsewhere but the most recent replaced rear brake pads started making intermittent noises when I stopped. I didnt feel like replacing them again myself to verify that the pads were defective and saw a $99 brake coupon for this Midas. I came in Friday morning and they fit me quickly and performed a free brake inspection before just replacing the pads. They did not find any issues visually but went ahead and replaced the pads as I requested. The job was completed in a timely manner and no more intermittent noises from the rear brakes since then. They honored the $99 coupon with no problem and just added tax. No up sell BS or "shop fees" like Ive had to battle at other shops which is why a generally do my automotive work myself as it gets tiresome listening to sales pitches when getting automotive work. Based on this experience I would use them again for brakes, suspension, or exhaust work but for oil changes Ill stick to my regular place off Old Milton as they get you in/out quickly which could be a issue at Midas depending on what they already had pending ahead of you. Recommended! A+
