So Im a first timer to toni&guy and Ill never in my life let them do my hair again! I paid $160 to look worse than before I came in! I walk in for my appt. at 1pm on Saturday and sit in the chair to start. I show the colorist exactly what I wanted which was a dark color with red tint in it that shows vibrantly in the sunlight. She said shell have to lighten up some pieces so the color will take on the darker parts and she then proceeded on the process, finished with the coloring, and told me to sit in a chair with foil in my hair for about 35 minutes. I then went to the sink to rinse everything and the rinse out was literally 5-10 seconds long. When she was done she said it took well. Then finished haircut and everything...blah blah...when my hair was done th?>: n rinsed it for 5-10 seconds again (which doesnt seem right). After blow drying my hair the color was perfect....until I go home. I washed my hair the next day and literally without exaggeration, it looked like a murder scene in my white tub. A thick blood red color came completely out as if I had just got done coloring my own hair and rinsed all of the dye out. I wrapped my hair and my towel was now red. Now, my hair is completely faded out after 5 days and washing my hair twice (which bled a lot the second time as well). I told them I was completely unsatisfied and wanted a refund after telling the whole experience I had to them and the only thing they said was we can fix it at no charge. Thats like going to get your car fixed at a shop and they mess it up twice and saying theyll fix it for free the third time. Uh, no....I dont want them touching my hair again. I want my money back (which theyre fighting to not to give my money back, the manager keeps saying its not up to him and its only up to the owner) WHATS THE POINT OF HAVING A MANAGER THERE IF THEY CANT MAKE THOSE DECISIONS THEMSELVES?! Im completely livid and I will fight this until I get my refund. Ive already made an appt. with Van Michael salon for them to fix this disaster (which I shouldve never tried someone new). *****************UPDATE******************* I spoke with the person who told me hes "just a manager" after calling him since I never got that call back I was supposed to get Monday. Turns out, hes not "just a manager" hes part owner as well...so that was a lie. I asked for my update and he basically said After the negative reviews you made about us on social media he feels as if the damage is already done. First of all, the damage was already done on my hair! The phone lost service when I entered the elevator arriving at work so I called back and ask for the person above him for his phone number and name. I call the number and ask for him and they ended up getting my name and number for a call back. That was around 1pm, just now (8:00) I get my call from the other owner and I told him everything Ive been dealing with from the moment I walk through their doors. He said, "well, after talking with members of the staff, Aaron (the "manager"), and seeing all your negative remarks on social media I wont be giving you a refund. Thats the moment I got mad and explained again what happened, and said exactly, "so basically what youre saying is you either keep your customers or either its just f them?" Then he changed the subject and flipped it onto the language I used (which I didnt say "f you", I said so basically its "f the customers if they dont stay with you") he tried so hard to flip it around on me because of my one curse word. I put the entire story on God, on my son, and on everything I love...I was very polite and understanding in the beginning, but after 3 days of getting the run around and finding out I was lied to about the manager lying about his position...yes, I indeed got mad that LAST time I spoke with Aaron and as soon as Barker told me I wont get my full refund on the color job.

Stylist: Dana Reason for Visit: Cut I had an appointment at 2PM and arrived at the salon about 30 minutes early. Once 2PM came, about ten minutes passed and Dana came up to me, introduced herself and apologized for having me wait. She was still busy with another client and told me it would be another 20 minutes. I didnt mind at all, because she was so sweet. 2:30 came and she apologized for going over again. I told her I wear my hair curly (I have 3b/3c hair) and need a good cut. Ive been to so many terrible stylists before! She washed and conditioned my hair, blew it out and started cutting. She did a very good job with my cut. Just so you know - coming form me, this is saying a lot. Im real anal about my hair. I love the layers she gave me and she didnt cut too short (my hair shrinks a lot when curly). One thing to note, I might advise that you just style your hair at home after the cut. Unless you want it straightened. After the cut, she wet my hair so she could style it in its curly state. I wasnt much of a fan. My hair turned out kinda squiggly and limp so I left the salon with my hair pulled back. Thats the only reason I didnt give her 5 stars. But then again, you always know how to wash - and - go your hair the best. Nonetheless, I would very much recommend Dana for a cut - especially if you are a natural hair woman! When I decide to cut my hair again (which wont be for a very long time as Im trying to grow it long), I will definitely go back to her. She did a great job and was very very sweet. Ill probably just style it myself! :P

Went in for a trim/layer shaping with Whitney. I asked for 1.5 inches off and some shaping of the layers to lessen the difference in length between the shortest and longest layers (have long, fine, thick hair). Received the exact opposite - she took off at least 3 inches and went berserk with "texturizing" my hair even though I specifically told her I didnt want to take off a lot of volume. The end result was a hair style that could only look good on a mannequin and never on a living person. The worst part is I didnt even realize how much hair she had taken off until I got to my car and ran my hands through it. The first thing I did was go home and shower to wash out all of the product she had put in and see how it would look naturally. Its been a week and I had some pictures taken with my family - it looks ragged and unkempt - and my hair that was pretty and just needed a trim will take at least 3 months to grow out of this awful style. While I was there I was paying attention to the other stylists and while I hesitate to offer judgments on the others that I didnt use, I wasnt impressed by the results I saw people walk out with. Ive been going to Toni & Guys in other cities for years, but wont go back to this one.
