BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY! I had been a cable technician before at another company so I was told I would have a short training time just to learn their software for billing job orders to get paid. From when I came into new hire orientation it took 1.5 weeks to get into training. Upon arriving for training there was not anyone selected to train or help so they just throw you with whomever they can find. I was placed with a technician that called off many days of work to where I was sent home without pay and then that employee left the company for something better. They do not disclose that training is $9 hour until orientation and that your weekly pay will be 2 weeks in arrears (from which I left another job with higher pay when promised easy ability to make between $18-22 an hour and found out I was not paid for my hour of orientation). During training I was supposed to wait to be supplied with Comcasts login information and they did not properly request this from Comcast prior to me coming to work. I was also told in orientation that tools would be provided for me. At about the time that I would finally be able to receive a route to get paid the higher rate (which was weeks after when I was told only 2-3 days in training) I was told that they did not have the required tools for me and it would be a week plus to get my login information. So I went out and bought the tools that were promised to me to be able to complete my jobs out of the little pay I had barely received. I was given a work vehicle and a signal meter and brought that to my home which sat at my house for a few business days. Which then due to company policy was requested of me to bring back to the location without pay of which I happily declined doing. I had my partner drive me to the office to pick up the truck the first time which she had to adjust her overnight work schedule to accommodate the trip, so I would not have that happen again. After being without work for 2-2.5 weeks I was given the go ahead to come back and pick up my work truck. Then they failed to monitor their new hire to get properly routed. I was forgotten and not given proper jobs because I was not yet "activated" between them and Comcast and the supervisor did not manage this properly at all. After a few days of work my work vehicle broke down while driving with the power steering going out and airbag sensor shutting off. It took 3 business days without pay to get the broken vehicle and to be issued another. When arriving that week for my jobs the signal meter that was given to me went out of order due to an old and broken internal battery that would not hold a charge. This took days to remedy because the office manager who was the only person with authorization to issue new vehicles or meters was not available. When I was finally issued a new meter and started my next job, the meter I received (which was the same old model as the other one) failed in just the same matter even after charging all night. At this time I called the Director of Operations (whom I had a sit down discussion with about company practices days prior) to address my resignation from this horrible company. I was losing so much time from work due to their negligence that I could not handle the stress it caused my family and I anymore. I have now received my pay stub showing my out-of-training work and I made $150 for 30 hours of work which is $5/HR but with complying to piece rate hourly laws was adjusted to a $8.25 minimum wage variable. This was LESS THAN WHAT I MADE IN TRAINING. Also mileage was to be reimbursed which was around 83 miles and $17 in reimbursement on that pay stub. This rounds out to about 5 CENTS PER MILE. Supposedly being a smoke-free facility with designated smoking areas, everyone was smoking inside the building wherever they please. Also managers address personal issues with their employees in front of everyone and do not care about yelling and embarrassing their employees. I had missed a total of 4-5 weeks accumulated without pay since the start of being hired in the 2 months I worked at ACT.

Do not allow access to your private property with this contractor for Cox Cable. They will not honor any damage claim that you attempt to resolve with this company. This company damaged my property while installing a buried cable line for Cox Cable and will not admit nor pay for damages to be completed. Next step file with Better Business Bureau and then make claim with small claims court
