Was reluctant to get storage but decided on Metro because of their proximity to my home (I can easily walk there if I wanted). Also the price and value is competitive for indoor temp-controlled storage (its not hot during the summer). Ive had the service since Mid-July 2013 and no problems. Theyve been very friendly and helpful (like when I was unable to open the exterior door). Def take advantage of your homeowners or renters insurance to eliminate the $9/month insurance charge. Only major downside is that access is limited to 9pm. I wish it was open a little later for people like me (I dont even get home from the office until after 7 or 8). For those in downtown Des Plaines, this is a good, affordable storage option with no long term agreement. Recommended.

I am a customer for many years, and always was happy with service. But today I was treated like a criminal. I came to pay for my unit , bet the woman who worked did not let me go to my unit through holloway, I need go from outside to use my pin. I think she needed to check my ID card for identification.Her voice tone was like I am a criminal.!!!!

This place sucks, bait and switch. Reserved a unit through Sparefoot, when I arrived I was told the unit was $140 not the $75 rate I confirmed. Told Sparefoot made the mistake, THEY ONLY PUBLISH THE INFORMATION PROVIDED BY METRO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Total BS on Metros part. Left messages, no one returned calls or emails. Filing complaint with AGs office.

THEIR WEBSITE DOESNT WORK. THEREFORE I PAY VIA TELEPHONE FOR A $13.50 INCREASE FROM WHAT I WAS PAYING. NO ONE IS AROUND TO HELP. THEY WANT YOU TO SKIP PAYMENTS AND MAKE MONEY SELLING YOUR STUFF. ALSO, I CANNOT BELIEVE THEIR SHORT HOURS. COULD METRO BE ANY LESS GREEDY AND INCONVENIENT?
