Very disappointed. Over the last couple years Ive brought both of our vehicles to Meineke in Troy, Il for routine oil changes as well as complete brake jobs on both vehicles. Regretfully, Ive recommended this local business to friends and family for their vehicle service needs. Those days are now over, and Ill have to do my best to share my unfortunate recent experience with as many people as I can. A few months ago, our 2012 Kia was leaking oil. Meineke in Troy diagnosed the problem as a leaking valve cover gasket. I decided to let them do the work, rather than going to the Kia dealership, as I had good experiences with them in the past. Two weeks ago I realized the Kia was leaking oil again. I dropped into Meineke and they now told me the valve cover itself was cracked. I went to two local Kia dealerships who both were resoundingly convinced the valve cover was damaged as a result of Meinekes valve cover gasket replacement service. "Likely not torqued correctly." "These things dont just randomly crack." Meinekes response was to blow me off for week, and then finally refusing to stand behind their work. A sad example of how to run a business. Now Im out both the money I wasted on Meinekes valve cover gasket replacement, as well as the money Im spending at the Kia dealership to repair the damage that they caused to my vehicle. Live and learn.

We will be taking our business elsewhere, following this weeks refusal by Meineke of Troy to honor their recent coupon offering for discounted brake repair service and oil change. We received the Meineke coupon in the mail about 10 days ago and decided to have our Mariner brakes inspected and serviced by Meineke along with oil change rather than a local Ford service center. Not only did they refuse to accept the 10% off coupon after the over $500 brake job was deemed necessary and approved for service, they also used the wrong oil (we had requested same oil as their previous change: full synthetic). In the end, no discounts were received, with added fees that brought the total bill to over $600. We wont be fooled again.

They did an ok job changing my oil. They didnt take my car back very quickly, even though I had an appointment. The lobby was hot, even on a cold day. On the other hand, they were very kind, helping an older couple with car trouble.
