They do great on brakes and oil changes. Anything else, go to real mechanics. had a heater core replaced which required removing dash. they somehow managed to squash my air conditioning so I barely have air conditioning now. They left wires hanging under the dash. I took it in and had them do some stuff and check on a noise I was hearing underneath. They took it for a drive before they did the stuff. they took it for a drive after they did the stuff. They said they couldnt determine cause of noise. I found out what was causing the noise the next day while I was driving to another mechanic shop. My wheel fell off. Called them up. They said not their problem. Needed a new aftermarket alloy wheel ($400.00) caliper, brake, rotor. Needless to say, this will be the last time I go there for anything. I am telling everyone I know of my experience (and I know a lot of people). Whatever it would have cost them to do the right thing, Im guessing itll will cost them more in the end.

After test driving a car at a dealer in Westfield, I was a little concerned about how it handled. The dealer said I could take it to Car X to have it looked over for free. I was a little concerned about the mechanic being biased because of the arrangement they had with the dealer, but was I ever wrong! The manager, John, spent nearly an hour going over the car, showing me how to check body work, and printing a free quote that showed every repair we discussed. He even drove it himself to check the clutch, which I was afraid had some issues (which it did). He wouldnt let me pay him a dime, regardless of the hour he had spent just making sure I didnt buy a lemon. Thank you, John, staff, and Westfield Car X!

Ive been a Car-X customer for about five years and feel it is long overdue that I let them know how much I appreciate their service, in particular their Manager in Westfield, IN, John Niebold. It is so reassuring to know that I have an auto service that I can trust completely. The fact that theyve never tried to sell me anything I did not need or "over-diagnose" a problem or fail to fix a problem is invaluable. In fact, Ive moved from Westfield but continue to patronize ONLY the Car-X in Westfield for my auto needs. Not only are they reliable, but also very courteous and the shop is very clean, as well. Kudos to John offering such a well-run store.

They charged me 500$ for new power steering pump and for a serpentine belt replacement. Then when i went to pick up the car it had massive problems with hesitating when i tried to go faster than 30 m.p.h. so I took it back to them to look at it they said the timing was out and I needed a new tensioner on the belt they charged me 800$ in total for that repair. Then a few days later they called me again to say my car failed a diagnostic test and that me engine had valve damage. They claimed it would be another 1300$ to fix valve damage. Long story short I took it to a family friend in Anderson and had it fixed by them.

We regularly use Car X. These guys really know how to handle customers. They remember your name when you require service. They explain what needs to be done on repairs and service. Their price is on target. They get things done when they say they will. As a salesman and former instructor on customer service, I know the importance of building relationships with customers. We have three cars. CarX services them all. We could go to the area dealer but I wont because I know I can walk home from the Car X after the work is completed. Thanks John and your staff especially Jacob for doing an exceptional job.

I have been to Car-X multiple times and each time they have gone out of their way to fix or diagnose any problem I have had. They have even done some labor intensive diagnostics without charging me. They could have easily told me something serious was wrong with my car instead of the small fix that was needed so I find them to be trustworthy, as well. Their waiting room is clean, the staff is polite and attentive and I couldnt ask for more from a car repair shop. Their prices are also very reasonable.

The hydrolic line on my brakes failed, and I lost preassure and was using the emergency brake to limp to the nearest mechanic. I was told that they closed in a half hour, and would not be able to work on it until monday. The fix simply involved swapping parts and filling/bleeding the brakes, but they couldnt be bothered..... there were at least 5 or 6 guys just standing around. I had to drive the 15+ miles to the next mechanic praying that my e-brake woudlnt fail as well.

Westfield Car-X is totally awesome. John the manager cares about customer service and stands by their work 1000%. They provide a detailed analysis of your problem and repair cost is fair. In other words they will not rip you off as many repair facilities do. I have been coming here for 14 years and have never been disappointed. I recommend giving this Car-X a try before going anywhere else. If I could give a 10 star rating I would. A+++

I went there for an estimate. My stablizer link needed replaced, and they wanted to charge $209, which is rather high considering the inexpensive parts and short amount of time to fix it. I offered to pay them for the inspection since I was declining their quote. They ended up damaging it so bad, making it hard for someone else to work on it. Im entirely disappointed in their lack of ethics. Shame on me for being honest with them.

Took my 05 Subaru GT Wagon to CarX for an oil change. I waited 3 minutes until they got my car in. I also had a fog lamp out. I had ordered another PIAA H3 fog light bulb. They are NOT easy to install on my vehicle. John Neibold, the Manager, sent his lead technician to change the bulb....they didnt charge me a cent to install my fog lamp bulb. That is good old fashioned customer service.

John, the manager, and other staff members are always helpful and courteous. The estimates are fair and in comparison to other repair businesses usually a bit cheaper. Found them truthful in their inspections and explain the problems and repairs that are needed fully. A great business for ladies to take their vehicles for repairs. They dont talk down to you as some others might.

Paid for a vehicle inspection before I bought a used car, had minor issues that they discovered. The vehicle had its computer reset so that the errors wouldnt show up. They didnt look beyond this and I bought a vehicle with a bad catalytic converter, leaking oil from gaskets, etc because I trusted Car-x thoroughness.

Quoted me one price on the phone for brake pads and charged me another in the store. Charged me for rags and nuts to use while working on my car. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Whats sad is we have been using this shop for years and they just start ripping us off.
