I went into Midas expecting to have a small fix with a loose muffler that was bouncing around and making terrible noises. When I got there and they jacked it up it turned out that one of my rear shocks had disconnected itself and needed replacing, they didnt try to force anything else on me, just told me what needed to be done and gave me an estimate. Turns out my uncle is a mechanic and the one who usually fixes my car troubles, I told him of the scenario and price and he found it to be appropriate. Since this is a much bigger job then expected and my appointment was later in the day I was told that it wouldnt be finished until late the next morning. I understood considering the circumstances so I called around and eventually found a friend who could give me a ride home. As I sat there waiting what seemed like forever for my ride, Ron even offered to find me a ride home which was very generous. Then the next morning I received a call from Ron at 7:50 am just 20 Minutes after Midas opens and it turned out that some of the employees stayed later and finished my car ahead of schedule! this allowed me to return to work earlier then expected which is a major convenience. Midas was able to not only fix my truck at an appropriate price but also supply excellent customer service in what can be a frustrating experience.

Did not have a very good experience at all. Went in for a leaking tire to find out that my tpms sensor was cracked and causing the leak. When approached with the price I politely rejected stating I dont currently have the funds and would just like to keep it how it is. Upon hearing this, the worker went ahead and said hed try to find an alternative. He didnt tell me anything about a price so I said why not and next thing I know they pull my car out and tell me they just replaced it with a rubber valve stem. Well okay I thought, I went to En-tire on Duff Ave before and they had done a similar rubber valve replacement for free! So I thought okay thanks! Little did I know I still had to pay a good amount for this repair. I told the worker I had no idea and NEVER CONSENTED TO THIS. I told him I said I wanted the original tpms in there and I would replace it with my tire insurance. The worker kept telling me "oh thats not even possible I dont even know what youre talking about, its too late now." So great, thank you for doing a service I NEVER CONSENTED ON and wasting my time and money. Never going here again, save yourself the trouble and go to En-tire repair services down the road, theyre on Duff and are A LOT MORE UNDERSTANDING AND POLITE. Just a heads up for anyone, thanks.

I am being shipped for BCT soon and will be on active duty for years so I dont really want to spend a lot on the car; but the brake of my car was making a lot of noise and a rim was bent so I had to do something. One of my roommate recommended Midas cuz he sent his car there for a brake replacement but they told him that his brakes were fine and not needed to be replaced after a free inspection. There were other problems with the car and I knew it before I send my car there, Ron knew I didnt wanna spend much on it so he recommended only whats necessary. But that was not everything, I decided to write the review because I noticed that they also fixed (reinforced) the heat shields around the exhaust pipe for me and didnt even charge me or tell me about it; we had an agreement on the price before they started working on it and the heat shield was not included, they didnt have to do it for me. Great people. I really appreciate it.

Brought my van in for a free inspection, the brakes needed replaced. They gave an estimate of over a grand to fix it. I picked up my van and drove 3 blocks and the drivers side front wheel fell off! Stranding me on the train tracks on Duff. "Ron" the owner said "he would do anything to fix this for us" but now he is giving us the run around on paying for the needed bodywork. Ron is a scam artist and a Liar. DO NOT GO TO MIDAS AMES!

We are from Kansas City and my son is attending Iowa State University. His car broke down and we had it towed to Midas in Ames. They told him what the problem was and he had it repaired. The Midas staff repaired the item that was broke and never suggested any other repairs like lots of shops do to make money. We are very happy with them. It is nice to have a repair shop you can trust when away from home.

Ive had some work done here, including two tire patches from nail holes. On one of the patches, the tire pressure sensor got damaged in the process, but I brought it back and they worked to make it right and fix it for me. Ron is a class act guy and finished off the fix with a good old-fashioned hand shake. I can highly recommend Midas Ames; of all the auto shops in Ames, this is the one I trust the most

I have been working with Midas in Ames as a customer for many years. Every time I take my car for service, they treat me with utmost respect and take good care of my car. All of my experiences with them are excellent. They recently fixed my car for broken Wheel Bearings and other issues and I am very happy for their service. I totally trust them and I recommend it to everybody.

I brought my jeep in, this was my first time doing anything like this as im in Ames for college and the man that was inside was very helpful in explaining what will happen. They got the service done quickly and even stayed open a little bit late for me so I could come get my vehicle before they closed as they werent going to be open the next day.

I had a problem with my car, they diagnosed it and I agreed to fix it. Unfortunately, the fix they did wasnt something that was causing the problem. Then they found another very expensive fix, but I didnt have money for that fix. They returned me the money I paid for the previous fix. Very good work ethics.

Been going here for 8 years with 3 of our family vehicles. Parking lot has no room but the service is fair and while a bit pricey they have never tried to talk me into a repair I didnt need. Having a mechanic friend double check their reports and quotes has taught me this.

I took m y car there because I could tell something was wrong with the brakes and they do a free service check. Well their estimate was $700!!!!!!! So I decided to get a second opinion and now it is only going to cost $300. Dont go here unless you want to pay a fortune!

Ron and his team are absolutely fantastic. They have taken care of our vehicles and are honest. If you need a trustworthy and efficient mechanic, look no further. The Midas financing is a no brainer for larger repairs or complete maintenance schedules.
