My oil light was on so i went to midas at 2100 east Euclid avenue in des Moines yesterday for the first time because it was close to my new job I told them i may need a new air filter too. When i went to pay they said My air filter was new. I didnt realize my husband had changed it. They could have charged me for one and i would never have known. They did tell me the sensor on the bottom of my car was hanging down and would need replaced. I had noticed something hanging under my car and thought i ran over something and it was stuck under my car. Anyway they told me 200 for a new sensor and to fix it. I took it in on my lunch today and picked out up after work. When i got there they handed me my keys and said here you go no charge. I looked at him puzzled and he said the sensors are fine and he had spare bolts to fix it and hooked it back on the car. Again they could have charged me 200 and i would never have known. The owner was awesome and when i expressed my gratitude he said integrity and doing the right thing is the way they run a business. And no i am not some hot woman he was trying to impress. Im 51 years old short and a little pudgy. Best friendliest service i have ever had and they have my business and Im already recommending them to others!!!

On about August 30, 2007 I went to Midas to have them perform routine maintainence on my vehicle (an oil change and tire rotation). After driving off, I noticed that my tire was making a lot of noise as if it were lose. Luckily, I was able to make it back safely. I told the attendant, Steven Tolle, that my tire was making noise that it was not when I drove it there, that I was very dissatisfied, and that someone is going to have to fix it. He responded that he may have someone "look at it", but that if I did not change my attitude "he is not going to do anything". An argument ensued and he eventually called the police and lied and told them that I had a gun. He must have been half drunk or something. He appeared to have had been under the influence of something and must have to have made up the story. The police came and did not find a gun. Another mechanic spotted a loose hubcap housing, however, and fixed that. However, this is customer service at its worse to leave something like a wheel lose on a car and to tell the customer that they are not going to fix it. Then, to top it off, lie to the police to get out of fixing it or not dealing apologetically with the fact that you have messed up on a customers car.

Anybody can have a bad day now and then, but some places do seem to have more than their fair share. In the years my wife and I have been bringing our eastside cars to this location, we have never experienced a bad outcome. Is it luck? More likely a change in management some time ago. Steve Webb, the owner and manager now, appears to have changed this place around and for the better. While waiting for my service work Ive had several extended opportunities to observe him with various customers and I believe some of these older reviews are indeed a thing of the past. If you think receiving good value and having a professional staff isnt obsolete as well, give them a chance to prove it.

My wife and I were stranded in Des Moines after our car broke down there on a Sunday evening. I returned home (we live out of town), but my wife stayed in Des Moines overnight and got the car fixed at Midas on Euclid on Monday morning. They called me right away on Monday morning and asked about the car issue. They then fixed the issue quickly and professionally. My wife traveled back home on Monday with the fixed car. The Midas manager called me to ask if my wife had made it home safely. I was thoroughly impressed with their quality of work and genuine care for their customer. I highly recommend Midas on Euclid.

The self-expressed "area manager", Jeff, is nobody I will EVER deal with again. He is rude and insulting to his staff, treating them as if he is better. He actually yelled at an employee in front of me and other customers. I will NEVER be back to this shop thanks to this guy. He DISGUSTING behavior is not that of a manager. What customer wants to listen to some jerk treat others this way? Not me. Bye-bye Midas!

asked them about exhaust for my truck and they said 1000 dollars and I asked why they said they would have to bolt on all new pipe. I asked them if they could cut and weld on new and they said it would be to much work and cost more. well I had someone else do what I wanted for a third of the price they wanted!

Steve and his guys pin pointed an annoying problem with my truck that another repair shop could not. It wasnt what I thought it was. Thanks for the great service you provided and explaining everything to not only me, but others with their vehicle. Definitely will be back when I am in the area.
