I have never been treated like such trash in my life. They couldnt care less if they had my business or not. Luckily for them - they have a monopoly on high-speed internet. The only other options are satellite internet and DSL... so even though Time Warner treats everyone like dogs - we all keep running back to them asking for more. I have tried for three weeks to get TV and internet service. I need internet service to do my job and am a graduate student - so I am in a bind to have it. My wife called on a Friday, and the soonest that they could get to us was in two weeks. The only opening that was available was for a 3-5PM time slot. We asked if we could make it about 3:15 as my wife is a teacher and would be able to make it by then. The lady on the phone said it should be fine. Two weeks later, I get a call from my wife saying that there was a note on the door saying "Sorry We Missed You." The note was half-filled out, as the cable guys ink pen had ran out mid-sentence (that guy must have been ecstatic to get an early start on his weekend). I looked at my phone to see the time of the call, and it was 3:06PM. She immediately called Time Warner to try to get the guys to come back, but the number sent her directly to a touch-tone corporate pass-around. Finally she was able to reach customer service and they considered it "unfortunate" but since she had admitted to being late, it was our fault. In technicality they were right. We had a time slot and my wife was 5 minutes late. I think that it is rude, frustrating and stupid - but TECHNICALLY they are right. Although the lady told us that 3:15 should be fine - it was informal. So, OK. When I get home I immediately called the number, which sent me back to the corporate touch-tone pass-around. The lady on the phone said that she would elevate our status so that if there were any cancellations we would be contacted. She stated that we should get a call the next day - but, worst case scenario, they would be there the next Friday in the 8AM-12PM time frame. I explained to the lady that I would take off of work. By now youve guessed that I did not get a call throughout the whole week, and Friday morning I was up and ready at 8AM. He arrived at 10AM and spun a big rut in my drive-way. I went out to greet him, and he immediately began questioning my name and address. Turns out, the account was in my wifes name, and therefore he was not allowed to talk to me. He repeated that he was "sorry" but there was "nothing he could do." I tried to reason with the guy; I explained that I had made the call to schedule the appointment and I had clearly told the lady that I would be there. The guy was not open to reasoning or even willing to listen to me - he was seemingly thrilled to have found a reason to leave the appointment early. I tried to show him a check that had both my wife and my name on it, he would not look at it... just continued to mumble "Im sorry - Theres nothing I can do." He said that the only exception would be if I had a signed letter written from her with a copy of her drivers license. I was never told that I would need anything like that. I asked if I could call my wife or drive to her work (5-minute drive) and he shook his head "No." At this point I was frustrated and I told him to just leave. I drove to the local office and attempted to explain my situation to the lady there. She wouldnt make eye contact with me. I will admit that I was frustrated, but I didnt raise the tone of my voice, use strong language or anything remotely unreasonable. I made sure not to pin my frustration on her. No matter - she couldnt have cared less about what I had to say, and repeated the official Time Warner motto "Im sorry." The story goes on, but I am out of space. If there is an entrepreneur out there looking for something to get into - consider becoming a cable service in Richmond. Ill be knocking on your door the minute youre open for business.

Horrible customer service locally and on the phone. I ordered Time Warners services on February 16th, 2015. The date of writing this is the 26th of March. They sent the first service install tech out 1 day after I ordered. I though well maybe they are going to be so much better than everyone says. Well he tells me that out home is not serviceable because the line is damaged. And that he is going to tell his supervisor and have them send the "Construction team" out and have them repair my line. 1 Week later they send out another install tech that tells me the same thing. The following week the same story, so I became very fed up with the lies that the techs were telling me so I began to call customer support to have them help me get the "Construction team" out to my house to repair my line. They in turn tell me that no repair has ever been scheduled at my address. The customer service rep then told me that she set me up an "SRO" or service repair order for the 24th and an install for the following day. As stated above it is the 26th. I have seen no one up at my house in the last week. I called customer support and she was able to tell me that one of the "techs" that came out was actually a supervisor and that even though he told me he was going to send out a repair request for my address he put in the system that the address was un-serviceable and un-repairable. Time Warner in Richmond, Ky. 40475 consists of a bunch of lying useless people. Please, If you are in my area DO NOT DO business with this company.

@@@@ PLEASE READ @@@@ I have never had more frustration over any other kind of business Ive dealt with in my life. Its constant disconnections throughout the day and Ive called multiple times trying to fix it but nothing has changed. Switching to ATT. **** you Time Warner, I hope every time you pick up the phone you deal with the ****tiest most ****ed off customers, because the business you represent clearly doesnt care about its customers or else there wouldnt be a 1.3 star rating. Also, Time Warner cable takes advantage of customers who dont know MBs speeds. I remember seeing on their deals page for internet they were doing 2, 4, and 6 MBs saying this is for basic email checking and web surfing. Then on 50 & 100 saying its for gaming speeds. My research from multiple websites .. Xbox live/PSN needs 6 MBs. Netflix/Hulu needs 2 MBs. Even in a big household 50 MBs is still pretty crazy high, yet they advertise as if its needed for gaming. How sad is it that .. a major company that, in a way, steals money from their less informed customers like that. Time Warner cable is one step below thieves. Its false advertising. Also did you know their used to be a popular website called "Timewarnercablesucks" that was later shut down? Funny huh, I think they deserve it! - Thank you for reading and have a good day! (I swear on my first born childs life that Time Warner dropped its internet connection during me typing this post)
