I would not recommend this place to anyone, I had my truck towed from Reston Virginia and decided I would let them take care of the repairs, after getting the call that my car is ready they tell me that my car would need a new distributor, I then take it to another mechanic to do a diagnostic test becasue my truck is now showing the check engine light, they tell me that this place used an aftermarket part for my truck and it needs the factory, at this point Im upset and go in person to talk to the supervisor and he tells me that it doesnt matter what someone else saids, he told me to bring it in person to check it out, and that to make things clear at least the truck starts, but at this point the truck is now having the same problems before it broke down on me, Id give i 0 stars if I could, this place is a total waste of time

40 West is the best in Frederick, MD and the surrounding MD area. Ive lived in several cities across MD and Ive never experienced a more professional and honest shop. The prices are very competitive, the service is super friendly and your car will be looked after as if its their own. Ive had both three of my cars serviced here; Ford Expedition, Lincoln Navigator and a Honda Accord. Shop Manager John Harris is awesome! We speak to each other like long time friends and hes extremely knowledgable with just about any make or model. He really takes the stress out of having your car serviced. They have a no questions shuttle service that has been a life saver and my car is always ready on time, every time. You can ALWAYS trust 40 West Auto Care, they are a long established business based on trust and top tier service.

I first came in contact with 40 West as a result of a call to AAA for a dead battery. The gentleman who came out shortly after the call was knowledgeable and friendly. As we were new to Frederick, I asked him for a referral, and he gave me a business card for 40 West. I have been taking both our cars there ever since and cant say enough about how happy I am with all aspects of the business. The mechanics are very capable, and John, the head mechanic, is always available to answer questions. They are very honest and dont recommend unnecessary work. I heartily recommend 40 West!

My Daughter hit a curb and flattened her tire at 9:00 p.m. on a busy road in Frederick. We called AAA and were told that a tow truck would be out in an hour. We requested 40 West Auto Care and Towing because we had used them in the past. My wife took my daughter home and I stayed with the car. In 15 minutes 40 West showed up and had the car loaded and we were on our way. The next morning the tire was replaced and ready to pick up by noon. Fast, friendly, competent and affordable service. What more could you want when your daughter is stranded on a cold dark night.

MY HUSBAND WAS LEFT IN THE SNOW IN A DRAINAGE DITCH BY A DRIVER WHO SWORE HE WAS COMING BACK IN AN HOUR WITH NEW EQUIPMENT OR A NEW TRUCK. HE NEVER SHOWED. (ITS 20 DEGREES OUTSIDE) WHEN MY HUSBAND CALLED, THE DRIVER SAYS HE NEVER SAID THAT HE WOULD RETURN. THIS MAKES NO SENSE, BECAUSE MY HUSBAND WOULD NEVER HAVE STAYED BEHIND. HE IS VIRTUALLY TRAPPED. I CANT SAY ENOUGH TERRIBLE THINGS ABOUT THIS COMPANY AND HAVE ALREADY POSTED THIS STORY ON FACEBOOK. WE HAVE A LOT OF FRIENDS AND FAMILY HERE IN FREDERICK AND I HOPE YOU NOTICE THE LOSS OF BUSINESS.

I worked with John to get our customer back on the road and he was absolutely outstanding. The service at 40 West was great! Everything was explained clearly as to what needed to be done on my vehicle. The pricing was honest and excellent. Broke down on I-270 and 40 West came quickly to tow our car to their garage. They gave us a fair estimate for the work that needed to be done, and when we determined that the repair cost exceeded the value of the car, they helped us find a trade school nearby to take it off our hands. Slow service, attitude problems, different price quotes than whats listed on the wall, mongoloid mechanic, they had my vehicle 3x LONGER than originally scheduled over a simple safety inspection WITH an appointment!!! The shop is literally 2 minutes from my house but Im NEVER going back to these hicks again!!! Save some money and frustration, go somewhere more professional

Left me stranded in freezing temperatures after breaking their truck and telling me they would be back with another one. Called the dispatch and was told that they werent coming back and the dispatcher then proceeded to hang up on me. WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!
