The manager listed a car on craigslist. He described the car as a daily driver, He came we looked over the car asked questions such as are there any service lights on? No he replies. Does the heat work? No he replied. Any problems at all? Again he replied no. He said that the car was offered for a repair bill at the Frederick Midas. I traded my old car which needed minimum repairs and $250 because I needed a car that would hold 5 passengers and ran without repair. Within 1 hour after having trouble getting it to start we realized the heat did not work it was 20 degrees outside and I have 3 young children, Within a few miles the check engine light is on and leaking oil like crazy. I contacted him and he says he will come the next evening to fix heat and take a look at it. He never showed up. We call he says he is on his way again never shows up. We put $200 into repairs just to make it drivable. We contact him again he says he will refund $200 back. It has been 2 1/2 weeks and no he no longer answers calls or text. No money no attempt to make anything right. The car still does not start easily, needs a head gasket after replacing valve cover gaskets, needs wheel bearing, heat only works when it wants to, motor is tapping, among a list of other things such as no reverse lights due to a wiring issue. I do not know about their service department but if this is an indication I would steer clear. I have even attempted to contact him again today with no response. I am personally disgusted. Side note the car I traded was values in worst condition on KBB at 1700.00 the car I received is not drivable and listed at 1300.00 best condition KBB. The only reason I got it was because I was completely lied to!!!

My car battery died at the gas station right next to this Midas. I know I could have asked some random stranger for a jump, but I am shy and felt more comfortable asking at the Midas. Someone there was happy to bring a little battery pack over and jump start it, and didnt even charge me for it. I didnt get your name, whoever you were, but thank you! You made a really good impression. :) Update: a few months after the above battery incident, my car was running badly and needed diagnosis and repair. I tried the Pep Boys down the road, twice, but they refused to look at it without an appointment, and then refused to honor the appointment after I made one. So I went back to this Midas, and they were so great! A little bit expensive, with the $100 diagnosis fee, but they looked at it immediately, and as soon as they found what was wrong, brought me into the service bay to show me exactly what it was (a blown ignition coil and consequent messed-up spark plugs and wires). I approved them to fix it and they went to work on it right away. It was done within a couple of hours. For service like this, I dont even mind paying their diagnosis fee.

Consumer, beware of the Midas unconscionable fees. The initial estimate they gave me for the cost of the repairs to my vehicle $2,604.91. When I declined, they provided me with a second estimate in the amount of $1,400.00. Initially, I agreed to have Midas perform the repairs set forth in the second estimate. However, while in the waiting room, I searched the cost of repairing and replacing exhaust systems on the internet using my phone. The search showed costs which were significantly less. My auto mechanic confirmed the price was unreasonable. Midas refused to release my car until I made arrangements to have the car towed and paid them $100.00 for 15-20 minutes of service. Perhaps as an act of revenge, Midas called the Frederick Police Department. The two police officers who arrived and agreed that I was entitled to change my mind. Their initial thoughts were the Midas estimate was unreasonable and confirmed this by using the laptop in the police car to search the internet. My own auto mechanic later repaired my car for $960.51 and the quality of work was outstanding as usual.

Buyer Beware!!! Horrible HORRIBLE experience at Midas in Frederick. They did work on our cars suspension and the car got way worse. In the words of the mechanic "Jimbo" at the store, it was a death trap and should never have left their shop in that condition. Over the course of several more weeks we tried to get the repairs done correctly and at a reasonable price (after already spending $1200 on shoddy work). They kept saying they were discounting things when in fact they were squeezing us on the labor costs and trying to hose unknowing customers. They finally refused to do the work which they screwed up, so we had to invest more money to get the car into a safe driving condition. Funny enough there was another customer in the store at the same time who was having the same kinds of issues. The store manager actually told me that we should be happy that we are getting such a GREAT discount. That was the point when we lost it. Customer service here is horrible and the mechanics are about as bad. Skip this place at all costs!!!!!!

I originally had someone else take my car in in a month ago to get a pipe welded near my muffler. Although the problem was fixed, when I got my car back, it had dirty hand prints on the driver door and center console, and a scratch on my door that was new. I called and came in to see if they could just fix the scratch, and the manager immediately came out and took responsibility for it (even though I found out later he wasnt the one who worked on the car). He did everything in his power to leave my car cleaner than he found it. He cleaned my entire door, steering wheel, and center console, cleaning more than the few dirt spots. He also tried to buff out my scratch, and then buffed out other scratches on my car not caused by them. He also gave me a color match pen which was used to fix all the scratches, free of charge. The first trip may not have been great, but I would definitely go back because they care about the customer and went above and beyond to win my business back.

Absolute worst service I have ever received from a company in my life! When it comes to your family and your safety DO NOT TRUST these people! They missed a serious safety concern in my car (the guy actually said he would not be able to sleep well because the foreman missed it) then they said they were give me a discount on the service (I bought the parts myself) of 200 dollars. Come to find out that was FULL PRICE! They lied to my face! I called Corporate and although they sympathize with what happened they cannot help me since this is a franchise location. Hopefully I can help someone avoid going through what I went through because after 5 visits over there they decided NOT to fix the safety issue! Unreal!

Bad customer service. I bought a set of Aftermarket headers and they didnt line up with the studs, each hole was off by maybe a cm. I couldnt send the part bank because it was past 30 days so I decided to bring it to Midas and have them elongate the holes in the headers to line up with the studs on the exhaust manifold. I gave them the factory gasket from the exhaust manifold to use as a guide. Couple hours later they call and say its ready, I come, pay, and as Im ready to leave I notice they machined the gasket instead of the headers. So now Im SOL out of 30 dollars because they said it was a miscommunication on my end, didnt even offer me a free oil change, tire rotation, nothing
