So when my car was kaput and the tow truck guy showed up to take my car to a local mechanic shop, Accurate Automotive, he was kind enough to do some investigation and let me know that I had a broken shifter cable. I was desperate because it was a Sunday night and no one was open so I did some Googling and decided to go with Accurate Automotive since they were nearby. I called Accurate the next day to let them know what was the issue with the car. Of course, they charged me $50 to inspect the vehicle after I already told them the issue, and THEN proceeded to tell me that the total cost to fix it was $400+. I then called Hometown Garage and the guy was like, "Yep, shifter cable... that should be about $175 total." I SAVED OVER $300 by going to Hometown Garage. The service there was excellent. They dont try to rip you off. The guy at Hometown told me he spotted Accurates estimate and said that they were outrageously overcharging me. I will ALWAYS go to Hometown from now on, for everything under the sun.

Professional, honest, courteous and fair pricing sums up this shop. In order to keep my vehicles for a long time, I only have them serviced by ASE Certified mechanics. This shop is not only staffed by Certified mechanics but is owned and operated by one that has the customers interest as top priority. I wont bring my cars anywhere else even if its just an oil change and tire rotation because they look over the entire car as part of the visit- not to go on a fishing expedition like the dealers do, but to make sure you dont leave the shop with an impending problem. Its no wonder they are a popular award winning shop.

I have done several repairs here. Overall the service is OK. The employees are nice but the technically, not very competitive. They do not have much experience beyond some common mechanical/electrical issues. They also provide re-manufacturing parts but do not tell you before the service. I changed my right rear caliper there and they used the Reman part. They didnt tell me even after the service. The part is not cheap - about 100 bucks but only lasted half a year! I should have right to choose what type of part i want to install on my car. Bad experience.

I just got my car fixed at this place. I had been having noise and clunking from my front end gradually increase in volume over a year. I originally took it to another shop and they said it was my struts and wanted to charge me $1000 to replace them. I got a recommendation for Hometown Garage from a friend and they diagnosed the problem as something else (I cant remember off hand what it was). It only cost $130 to fix and it completely cleared up all of the clunking. I will highly recommend this shop to anyone who asks.

Great. Always honest, efficient, and affordable. Oil change / tire and other maintenance prices are very fair, and the staff is always extremely courteous. Even with as little as an oil change theyll do a courtesy check on a number of things. No issues with them doing work you didnt ask for, prices coming in way above those quoted, or taking forever to do the work. On top of all that, they have a courtesy ride service in the morning at no charge. In my opinion its worth going out of your way to have your car serviced here.

My husband and I have been taking our 2003 Ford Explorer here for the last 4 years for service and maintenance. The staff knows us by first name and they know our car very well (considering how old it is). They are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. You can tell that management and ownership care a great deal and are invested in their business. They are always trying to improve and do innovative things for the industry - even including text notifications for your car! Love this place.

Ive been bringing my Honda Accord Hybrid and Toyota Sienna to Hometown Garage for the past two years. Their service is great, and about 2/3rds the cost of local dealers. I particularly like the analytical skills of the owner who is quick to find the root cause of the problem. ( As a mechanical engineer myself, I appreciate that sort of edge) You cant go wrong. These guys have great personal touch of service, and honesty its hard to find. Phil Bartels Lexington, Ma.

Were always so pleased with the service and honesty at Hometown Garage. Herb and crew deliver time and time again. They keep our cars in excellent shape and finish repairs that are needed quickly to get us on the road again. Todays repair at Hometown cost us hundreds of dollars less than the price the dealership quoted us for the same work. Weve been getting the same great service here for years.

Brakes stopped working on the way to work (not fun). looked them up online and decided to head over but got lost as im new to the area. The guy was nice on the phone and gave me directions. Rear brake lines were totally gone and cost me about $460. Had my car back within 24 hours and works fine now...nice guys and nice shop..def would go back again with more car problems.

When I was referred to Hometown Garage years ago, I wondered why they were recommended by Arlington folks even though they are in Burlington. Its because they are the best. Friendly, reliable, honest and fast. Although I moved to Waltham 7 years ago, I still use Hometown garage for all of my car repair needs. Highly recommend!

They are totally overpriced I got a quote for 900 to change my 3 struts from one body shop and then asked them on the phone if they could match or beat it and they told me that it would cost over 1200 and that they dont care what other people charge what horrible service and over pricing especially when a strut cost 150!!!!!!

Had a very positive first experience here. I was referred by a friend, and they fit me in within 24 hours. They fixed my issue in about 30 minutes, and I was pleasantly surprised by the very reasonable price!! Keep up this service, and you will have a lifetime customer!!!

I went here for a 60,000 mile check-up and an engine issue. These guys are great. Very professional and friendly and really take the time to explain all the issues to you. They offer a shuttle service and a loaner car for longer times. An all-around great experience.

My second time and just as happy with the service to my 5 year old car as during my inaugural visit. Professional. Competent. Courteous. Added bonus? They gave me a ride to the office and picked me up later when the car was ready. Great service!

Highly recommended, everything they did for me was correctly quoted and worked fine, the advice they gave was helpful. I have relocated and looking for a good mechanic, that is when I thought leaving this review is well deserved.

Honest and friendly service, free wi-fi and coffee, and a shuttle service with a super-nice driver. As a single woman, I had always been leery of car repairs. No longer. I trust Herb and his entire team 100%.

Great service. Quick response; Clear explanation and demonstration of what the problem was. Polite and respectful of someone who did not have a clue about the cause of the problem. Rates are fair.
