I had an excellent experience at BMW of Newport starting with the call back from Mark Tortolani after an e-mail inquiry about a used BMW. His enthusiasm for the BMW and his fun loving attitude toward life in general was contagious. Unlike other dealers with whom I have had interactions I felt he really understood where I was coming from. The styling, color of the exterior and interior and the detailing were up there as priorties for me. One previous dealer had described me as "special" and I started to wonder if my high standards were too much to expect from a used car. Mark quickly allayed all those concerns and showed me quite a few viable options. He explained that he gets bonuses for the NUMBER of cars he sells and not for the AMOUNT he makes on each car so he attempts to get the best deal for each customer. After buying my car, he called me and texted me later that day to be sure I was happy and seems genuinely invested in keeping me a happy BMW consumer. The entire experience was excellent and so different from what I experienced in Providence. Everyone involved in my purchase was very friendly and helpful including Jason Smigel, James Tarbox and Nick Beeckman. I am definitely recommending BMW of Newport to my friends and colleagues. I purchased the highly sought-after 2016 M2 from this dealership and the only positive things I can say was that the receptionist was very kind and the BMW Genius I worked with (Nick) was very professional and taught me everything I wanted to know. The biggest thing that stood out was my car had significant scratches on the door panel and there was visible dirt left near the mirrors, rims and trunk. The people responsible for detailing this car did not clean it up well at all. Fortunately, they took it back to the conditioning shop and they buffed out the scratches and wiped the mirrors. The rims were still dirty... The sales managers were yelling at their employees right in the showroom, the finance department tried to set me up with a loan without even talking to me about what term, rate, etc that I wanted, the paperwork wasnt even close to prepared when I arrived (even though we had agreed upon a time I would come in for the car)... I could go on and on. I will not be going back to this dealership for anything. TL;DR Brand new car had scratches and dirt visible. Sales Manager yelled at employees multiple times in the showroom, finance department provided no visibility into what they were doing... Extremely unprofessional dealership.

I went in to this dealership to test drive the new X1. I was met by a gentleman named Justin who to informed me that the vehicle had not hit the dealership yet. I was shown one or two comparable vehicles and even took one for a test drive but really had my heart set on the X on I was shown one or two comparable vehicles and even took one for a test drive but really had my heart set on the X1. Justin didnt try to sell me a vehicle that I didnt want and was happy to take down my information so he could let me know when the vehicle I did want to hit the show room. He gave me a call a week later as soon as the vehicles got in. I met with him the day after that to test drive it. Even though the vehicle had just come in he knew everything about it! Our test drive was great I truly got to experience the vehicle. After more discussion we came to the decision that the M line version was the one for me. Unfortunately the M line X1 wont be available until November. He didnt pressure me to buy one he had or pre-order one two months before I could get it. He just told me he would call me when it was available and I was sent off happy. I highly recommend this dealership and Justin to anyone looking for a nice vehicle.

Service department----A. Everything else---F. At best. Bought a 08 535xi with 75k on it this winter, Certified Pre Owned...Horrible. Salesperson named Nelson gave me the run around until time had expired when I inquired about the lemon law stuff...This little "gem" of a certified piece of crap has been in for repair 4 times there, and had to have it towed 45 miles once while up skiing in NH. Water pump blew the first month I owned it. Other issues are not related, the car has stuff wrong with it everywhere. I thought that shopping at a long standing BMW dealership would help me avoid these issues, but thats sadly not the truth. Worst car buying experience Ive ever had, and to top it off...The guy Nelson, who was my salesman lost my title. Bought the car in Early Februrary, he swore up and down he mailed out the title, but no one ever got it. Since then, he no longer works there. How suprising. Neither does the finance guy who sold me his "bulletproof" warranty, thats covered maybe 1/3 of the costs incurred since purchase. Id stay far away from this place. Far away. Unless you need work done. Paul and Jake are awesome.

I must say that my salesperson Jim Costakos Sr. provided me with the "Best" auto sales experience ever. I dislike shopping for new cars because of the high pressure and the long drawn out price negotiating which can be so stressful, but this was not the case! I had an appointment with Jim at 1 pm and I was running about 20 minutes late and I could not stay long because of other commitments. Jim was very understanding and accommodating I informed him of the type of vehicle I was looking to purchase as well as the options. He set me up very quickly for a test drive and after the test drive I had asked him to provide some numbers via email since I had to leave. Jim was extremely courteous and very responsive to my queries about the car via phone and through emails. If your looking to purchase a beautiful new BMW in the Newport RI and surrounding area. I would highly recommend James Costakos Sr....hes the "Best" in the business and you certainly will not regret purchasing a car from him! He sets the "High Standards" of salesmanship that all others should follow! Thank you James for a wonderful experience! Regards

I try to be extremely informed prior to making a purchase of a new vehicle. I research the Forums for the make and model car I am interested in and then scour the net for other datapoints. I do so as the cars I purchase are usually high end and I expect to keep them longer than the average buyer. I also prefer to order my cars in the colors I want and the options I deem important. Im very impressed with the support I received both prior to and after the purchase. My CA was Justin Moniz. He was extremely knowledgeable, never did the good guy-bad guy routine like the sales staff at BMW of Warwick and offered advice (good advice that is) when needed. Great follow-up and support after the sale as well. I was also impressed with Mark Grenga, the GM at BMW of Newport, who helped guide me through the process with care. He and his staff made me feel welcome rather than "a sales target" as they do at BMW of Warwick. Nice to work with a sales team who want to build long term relationships and treated me the way a customer should be treated. I highly recommend Justin Moniz and BMW of Newport.
