We have been bringing our cars here for years and have always been treated well, but today we had one of the greatest displays of integrity we have ever experienced from ANY company. We brought my husbands car here after it stalled on the highway. Initially, the inspection Herb and his team conducted revealed we would need a new fuel pump, a repair that would run $800. My husband and I were disappointed, but had no choice but to authorize the repair. An hour later, Herb called my husband and told him that they figured out that we only had a faulty fuel gauge, and only charged us $180 for the time they spent taking the car apart to diagnose the issue. This, my friends, is total integrity and honesty at its finest. Truly, if you need car repair, you cannot do better than the team at Excel Auto in Eagan.

Circa 2011, I asked when they could replace a part.. they said they could do it at 10am the following day. I tell them Ill be there. I come in as scheduled, sit there for 2.5 hours before being told they cant get the part for 2 days, but theyd be happy to sell me $1000 of shocks/struts I didnt need, and still dont years later. I asked "then why was I told to come in today?" .. "we just assumed we could get the part.." .. they didnt even check. Very unprofessional. Totally wasted my time to get me in the door to sell me things I dont need. Theyre cheap, though, I hear. You get what you pay for.

Love HERB and his crew! I went there years ago after not being happy with a competitor as they could not fix my car after repeated attempts. Herb fixed the issue in 15 minutes and I have been going to him for ever since. I have also recommended the shop MANY times. I just moved to Lakeville but will continue to drive the extra miles to see Herb. You can trust them to do a great job and to not try to sell you something you dont need. Love Herb!!!!!

Ive been coming to this shop for a number of years now. The manager Shawn has always been very knowledgeable and straightforward with the repairs needed. There have been a number of times they could have easily charged me for extra services, but instead worked with based on the circumstances. Theyve always been able to get my vehicle on the road again at a price I could afford. Glad I found this shop years ago, will definitely be back.

I have been bringing all of my cars for service here for many years. Everyone at one time or another has a difficult auto repair experience. Not here. Herb and all of the people who work there are straightforward and fair. My review is based on more than ten years of service with brand new cars to 20+ year old "classics". Always straightforward, they never over promise and they always communicate the options.

I just brought my car in for inspection. They quoted me $1100+ for a front wheel bearing and the back breaks. Well I got a quote to get my wheel bearing done for $350 at another shop and the parts for my breaks are only $100 and labor maybe 2 hours? So, obviously they are trying to get money out of me. Wouldnt recommend unless you just need a cheap oil change.

Driving on 35n with cruise on when all of a sudden no cruise, check engine light plus 2 other lights came on. Exited and found this shop. They did a diagnosis and it was a O2 sensor. The repair was done and I was on the road again. Effective, fast, friendly, . Thanks for making room in your busy schedule

Years ago Herb helped me out when I was in a bind with my warranteed BMW in a pinch. On todays snowy morning, I needed a quick place to drop my now Subaru. He got me in right away! Also noticed a toys-4-tots drop there :) I know my car is in good hands today.

Been bringing our cars here for years and always been very well served and felt the prices were reasonable. Always been able to basically drop off in the morning and have it ready before evening. Herb and his guys are good.

I recently went here for an oil change/tire rotation and they didnt put my tire on all the way. I drove a few feet and immediately knew something was wrong. It could have caused damage or an accident. I am never returning.
