This place is awesome, honest & the only place Ill ever take my car after my 1st time there. On May 1st, I was driving from work in St. Paul and my car suddenly went "GONG!" on the passenger side and I felt some serious vibration in my steering wheel and saw it in my dashboard. Instinctively I pulled over looked under the car like the non-mechanic I am and decided it was best to drive across the street to my gym. After my workout, I figured it wasnt good to drive my car so I got a ride home. During the ride I started looking on google for places to tow my car without knowing what to do. At 9pm, I called a tow and picked Lenfer Automotive & Transmission because of other google reviews. Praying I would get a good deal I put my faith up and left my car there over night. At 7:30am, May 2nd I called, claimed my car and asked Dave to check out my mini-cooper. He told me he would get a chance to look at it today and call me back. He called me at 12:30pm the same day and told me it was only a bolt which broke in my car. He said the bolt held a bracket for my engine and it was ONLY $83.90. I was shocked...I know nothing about cars but if he would have said it was $1,900+ I would have had to figure it out and get my car fixed but he was honorable as the reviews wrote and he charged me the final bill of $83.90. Not only did they take good care of my car but Dave explained to me things about my mini-cooper I never knew. Like what type of oil is really required in the future and how I should maintain my vehicle for the long-term. This place is the best place in Minnesota to take your car if you can. Its worth every penny and more in terms of good honest service and passionate people. I recommend it to anyone.

I brought my car here to have a performance street steel flywheel and a stage 1 competition clutch kit installed. From the beginning it was a nightmare. The original installation was horrible. I had to pull over every half hour to let the transmission cool down to even shift. I took it back twice after that to have adjusted, and though it eventually drove, it was never satisfactorily smooth or worry free. Less than a year from their last "adjustment", the transmission mount broke, which is very atypical and was due to the stress put on the mount from jamming and improper installation according to other mechanics I spoke to. Lenfer installed the new mount, but I had to pay for the part ($400). Within 2 years and 24,000 miles, the clutch kit failed all together. I was fed up with Lenfer and had another NAPA shop resurface the flywheel and install a new clutch kit. I have had no problem since and this other shop charged me $700 less than Lenfer for the same labor. I called them to explain the situation to Lenfer and provided them the receipt from another NAPA certified shop to no avail. They refuse to respond or stand by their work, blaming my heavy duty parts rather than their obviously incorrect initial installation that severely shortened the life of the clutch kit. Stay away from this shop! They charge more than other shops, dont know what they are doing, and dont stand by their work.

Best of the best! I found them online by reading all the positive reviews, and they deserved every one of them. They know there stuff, theyve always been upfront and honest with me, and they really work to help you out in any way they can. As far as honesty and integrity, which are probably the most important things to me in where I bring my vehicles, theyve been the best Ive ever dealt with. I drive a 1998 Sedan. As you can imagine, it has some issues that pop up here and there. A couple of the repairs, major engine work, have come close to a thousand dollars. Expensive, but they were big repairs. Something didnt quite seem right a few weeks after one of the repairs, so they had me bring it back in and found and fixed the problem at no additional cost. Great guys! My last visit didnt break a hundred bucks, and this was after repairing my brakes and giving me an oil change as well. These guys are top notch in my book.

Their reputation precedes them. I trailered my 67 Chevelle 35 miles to get to Lenfers. When you pull in, you will find a service lot FULL of autos for repair. Theres a reason. This is THE place to go. As full as that lot was, they got me in, did a quick service turn-around, and got me back on the road in a matter of days. These are honest, knowledgable people that you can trust...and they do great work, FAST! Much appreciation to Randy and crew. Ill be back! Im back...1 yr later now...towed my truck to Lenfers (35 miles again) after TiresPlus said I needed a tranny. Next day Lenfers put in 2 u-joints, performed standard tranny service...aaaannnd Im back on the road. These guys (see above) just saved me $2,800. GO TO LENFERS PEOPLE!!!!!

I needed new tires on my nine year old Buick, also some brake work and it had a wobble. The wobble was diagnosed as a bent rim and they gave me the option of new or used replacement. I chose used. I brought my car in the next day and everything went well - except the used rim was no good. They got another rim sent in the same day and finished the job ON SCHEDULE! While I was there they also recommended new shocks. They gave me my options and told me what to look for and how the car would possibly feel. They did this without being pushy or trying to force a sale. I opted out on the shocks for now, but will definitely be going back to Lenfer to get the job done.

Very happy with all the work done by Lenfer and their mechanics, the work done is always timely and always what the estimate says. We could not find a better place to take our vehicles if we tried. These guys definitely know what they are doing and are very good at it. The professionalism and honesty of these guys is not something you find too often these days and to say the least it is quite impressive. I would recommend for anyone to take their vehicles here, never have we been disappointed. Thanks for the great work guys, you are awesome!!!

I brought my blazer to Lenfer a year ago with transmission issues. I was extremely pleased with their service and cleanliness. Since they rebuilt my transmission, I havent had any problems. A couple months ago I cracked my rim on my vehicle. I called Lenfer and was surprised to find out that they repair just about anything when it comes to cars. I ended up buying a new rim and 4 new tires through them and couldnt be happier with my purchase. Lenfer is the best when it comes to automotive repair!

There is not a better place to get your car taken care of than Lenfer!!! Randy and Dave were the 2 guys I worked with most and they explained everything both thoroughly as well as in a way that was easy for almost anyone to understand. They are extremely fair in their pricing and make sure that you are taken care of. I will be going to Lenfer for everything on my cars for the future! I think there are probably 100 AUTO REPAIR PLACES that are closer to my house but Lenfer is worth the drive!
