I arrived at ~3:40pm to the Fantastic Sams on Century Ave just north of 694, where I have been going for my hair cuts for the last 2 years. I went to the counter to check in. I was told to have a seat and someone would be with me shortly. There were two customers being helped and one other in the waiting area. I sat down to wait my turn. several more customers show up and are also told to have a seat. 35 min later a stylist comes to me and says "Ok we can put you in the system now" thinking that Im about the get my haircut, as the one guy who had arrived ahead of me had already gone in, I followed her to the front desk. She takes my information and tells me that it will be a half hour wait. I informed her that I had already been waiting for a half hour, to which she replies "well you can schedule appointments by phone now. Would you like the number?", I left immediately. I understand that long waits can happen, I wouldnt even be upset if I had been informed right away. But to make me wait 35 min to even be told how long the wait was. That is completely unacceptable. I will not return to this location, and likely will not visit any other Fantastic Sams location again. This is NOT customer service.

Finding a hairstylist is like building a new friendship: it takes a bit of searching, perhaps filtering, understanding what you want and how they can make it happen. This salon is a place where you can go and build that friendship and trust. Working with my hair and sometimes changing what I want seems easy with them. They explain how we can achieve what Im looking for, what is better for me and it has always worked. For general care Im the type that needs to strengthen my hair as it goes through a lot professionally day to day. They have guided me always in the right direction but also so much so that I can tell the difference and so can my husband. Yeah! As a side touch, I also prefer supporting businesses that start locally and grow. I see her passion in her clients as we walk out the door happy!!!

Just had my hair done for the first time July 18th at Fantastic Sams in Mahtomedi, MN and it was worth both my time and money. The sylist, listened to what I wanted done and did exactly what I asked for. Afterwards I was so happy with my hair I went shopping. Normally after a hair cut and style I would drive home trying to hide my head and then rush into the bathroom to rewash my hair and restyle it before I would even think of having anyone see me in public. When I left Fantastic Sams I went shopping. Now how "fantastic" is that? Even better, I was not talked into getting a cut shorter than I wanted, or the one hairdo I am tired of ending up with - the bob. And, this is the first stylist who told me I could even wear my hair longer. YESSSSS!!!!

I have been there multiple times. The last 3 times I have been there it was because they didnt actually cut my hair the way I asked them to. The service was subpar and the ability of the stylist was seriously lacking. Not a good experience at all. Even though this location is only a mile or two from my home, I will now be driving 2 or 3 times the distance to a different Fantastic sams so that I can get the hair cut I ask for on the first try. And get better service as well.

My wife and I both went to get our hair cut. There was no wait which was, no pun intended; fantastic! The service was great and they listened to everything we asked for. It usually takes my hub forever to find a stylist who does what he wants. And he found one he is definitely going back to. I took a big leap in trusting a new stylist and I couldnt be happier with how my hair turned out!! 5+ stars!!!

Best salon service. I got my family hair cuts and my wifes color done by here. Everything turned out great. If you are in doubt they are always there to consult you to figure out what would be best for you. This is truly a salon of highest quality - excellent talent and excellent service.

Came in at 545pm. They said they were closed. Sign says 6pm and both were lit. Only takes 10 minutes for a quick mens cut. They didnt seem very friendly at all.
