Worst experience of my life. Problem started May 4th and it still going on. Century Link is not CenturyTel. Every person I have talked to about my problem has been from an different state and therefore I cannot talk to the person I talked to prior. One phone call with Carlos (FL) I was on hold for 45 minutes because he was on hold to transfer me to customer service. My last conversation, 10 minutes ago, with Maria informed me that this is a charter phone not Century Link. I told her she had not idea what she was talking about so she transferred me to Tonisha. Well I have been paying Century Link(CenturyTel) for the last 10 years. I have went from no internet to a disconnected phone to no voice mail to being told it is a fax line and cant have voice mail to taking 2 days to transfer from fax line to phone line to get voice mail. How the hell did it become a fax line. I actually had a David (KS) in Technical support inform me that I should have a backup system to my phone line. When I ask him how you back up a disconnected line he didnt know. When I ask for his employee # he informed me that he is a classified employee that has access to high level intel ; therefore, I couldnt have his number. All I want is for my phone to have voice mail like it has for the last 10 years. Nothing worse than a company that doesnt take care of its customers. Oh and there are no supervisors with Century Link so no one is accountable for not doing their job.

Internet SLOWER THAN DIAL UP and terrible customer service! My husband and I called to have internet setup in our new (to us) home. They never gave us the credentials to connect, and never told us that they didnt support modems that were not theirs. The Technician called the day he was to arrive and said that the house was already setup - didnt need to come out. We never could connect, even after spending about 4 hours in total on the phone with them and finally getting our user credentials. A week later, we STILL didnt have internet. Cost my husband and I two weeks in missed revenue for our two internet based businesses. Century Link DID NOT CARE and did nothing to speed up the time in which the NEW technician came out. Their customer service is not local, and therefore incredibly hard to understand over the phone. They billed us for MORE than what we paid for charter and our internet is less than a fourth of the speed. Cant wait until Charter gets out here!!! DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY!

The absolute worst. Avoid Centurylink like youd avoid Ebola. The only thing consistent about our internet here at my home is that it is consistently horrid. I think they had higher quality internet in the Roman Era. And their customer service? Once I had a long chat with a Centurylink representative & they scheduled a check-up as it were, just to make sure there was nothing seriously wrong with any of my hardware, any of the lines, etc. The guy never even showed up! : ) Amazing. Paul Revere delivers information faster than these guys. Carrier pigeons too. Its like having 1/5 of the internet available at all times. If Im writing a review like this you can imagine my frustration. Dont do this to yourself. There are religious ascetics & mad masochists that intentionally torture themselves who tremble in fear at the thought of contracting with Centurylink for internet service. Dont. Do. It.

Bill was 3 times more than what I was promised. I signed up for $45/month for 10mbps (which alone is insane) and was supposed to provide my own router. Well the day it was supposed to be activated a Centurylink tech showed up at my house and told me I HAVE to use their router, but there will be no extra charge and no install charge. Okay sweet whatever. Well I get my bill 24 days ago and instead of $45 it is $126!!! Ive been talking to customer service and they tell me they will fix it and change it. Ive been calling and talking to them for 24 days and it still has not changed. Im actually currently on hold with them as it takes anywhere from 1 hour to 2 hours to finally get to talk to somebody. Im telling them to fix it this phone call or Im putting their router on the porch and they can come get it and not paying.

It does not allow for no stars which is what Century Link Deserves This is the worst company there is. When calling customer service make sure you block out at least an hour of your time as you will be on hold forever. Dont worry you will get connected to a customer service operator from another country who cant answer any of your questions outside of reading your information back to you of the computer screen. I even paid which cleared my account but they never credited it to my bill. So they disconnect service and when I call they say i need to show proof i paid by faxing it in only to wait 2 days before they process my request and someone will call me back. This company is a joke and should not be in business, if I had any other option in my area I would leave and never look back. Buyer beware!!!

CenturyLink has been a giant pain since I signed up, actually even before. It was difficult to confirm order, Difficult to obtain further info, and now that I have the service, Im getting speeds nowhere near my advertised amount (around 7mb/s when paying for 25) and no one seems to even want to help. Theyve sent a tech, theyve opened a ticket, nothing is resolved. Ive had the service for a week and havent once been able to reach the speeds advertised. Id go with someone else in an instant, but theyve monopolized my location with terrible service. Wouldnt recommend, would not wish on my worst enemy. Stay away from CenturyLink at all costs.

This is literally the WORST company I habe ever dealt with. I was scheduled to have internet set up and they never showed. I tried countless times to call and get answers and everything else and nobody can tell me a thing. Customer service is a joke with them. Literally every aspect of this company is a joke. I can not say one good thing from my experience so far and to top it off they are the only company that services my area and I would only be able to get 1.5mpbs for 45 bucks a month, better than nothing I guess if we could get the idiots out here to install.

In an apartment where CenturyStink is the only option for Internet. In 8 years, we have been overcharged by thousands. We are working with an attorney to sue - they refuse to resolve erroneous charges on the monthly bill. They charge $150 in phone services each month (we do not have a phone). They charge $25 late fees (we paid in advance and they owe us overdue refunds). Absolute worst non-existent customer service we have ever dealt with. Worse than Charter - it truly doesnt get any worse.

Centurylink could care less about their customers who live in rural areas.. weve been customers for almost 20 years and continuously get told that they will be upgrading the internet service " any time now".I finally talked to someone who at least had the integrity to tell me that they will probably never upgrade the internet service out here because it just isnt cost effective for them to give their rural customers the same caliber of service that their urban customers deserve.
