I compared many storage businesses in the area before settling on Ithaca Self Storage, which was referred by a friend -- with good reason, it turns out. First, unlike many of the local operations, they have a good security system with cameras, good fences, and an electric gate. I felt safe having my stuff there -- you hear horror stories about vandals, etc., and some of the other local storage areas you can walk right into without any substantial security, sometimes even no fence. Ithaca Self Storage has convenient access, however, for customers, 24 hours a day, with an electric gate code. Second, I had my stuff there for two years. When I pulled it out, it was in excellent shape. I remember asking one of the managers about drainage, etc., and he said they had put a lot of attention into design when they set up the complex. With the amount of precipitation we get here, these details are important. Third, every time I dealt with the management, I found them to be extremely professional, rigorous, and considerate. They go buy the book when it comes to procedure, legality, and security, which makes you feel really good about keeping your stuff there, but at the same time they are friendly and human. For example, once I left town forgetting to lock my lock; they noticed, contacted me, gave me several options for dealing with the situation, and took care of it promptly, all in a very friendly way. Very impressive. Overall, a very professional business with pride in what they do. Very good value for money. Highly recommended.

I have been a customer here for 7 years. Over the last year I have constantly gotten harassment from the male that works here. I had to talk to a higher manager to get the springs on the door fixed after 3 weeks of waiting for a phone call because for security reasons I wouldnt leave my only key. Then I find a red lock over my unit and it has been paid! I have both the paper copy and the emailed copy yet this male refuses to unlock my unit. I have a disabled child and need access to get things out of the unit at any given moment. This is a clear violation of my rights and a theft of my property! If you call this male out on something that he has done, expect he will retaliate against you and then blame it on everyone else.

Rooms are dry and in great condition. Easy access 24 hours per day through security gate. Most importantly, the people in the office are extremely nice and helpful and easy to work with. I moved in on extremely short notice and they worked with me for a long time to find the right unit. Also easy to pay online. Highly recommend these storage units and there convenient location for any other cornell student who needs to store their stuff safely while away for long periods of time.

Ithaca Self Storage is in a good location, just off Hwy 13. It is a clean and well-managed facility. The security cameras and the fence with a key code that was personalized for me have given me confidence that the items I have stored at Ithaca Self Storage are safe from theft or damage. I moved to Ithaca and needed a unit ASAP visit this site and 2 others downtown and was very impress of how clean the property was and units. the over 2 competitors downtown Ithaca were not friendly nor clean I will not mention their brand names. The staff here was very helpful the only thing I would suggest is having some push carts to load items on to push inside my unit.. It nice to be able to visit my unit after hours they allow 24 hour access.

I moved in to my storage unit in February of 2013. While I have been there, Ive had no issues at all with the unit. The management team has been extremely supportive. Prior to moving in, I looked at several other sites and this one by far is the cleanest and most spacious compared to the other units. The location is very convenient. All in all, I am very satisfied with my decision to move in to Ithaca Secure Self Storage.

The one man that works here is extremely rude. Talking to him on the phone was a pain and when he told me to stop by to pay for the unit I waited a half an hour outside the gate before he opened it and than he made me sit in the parking lot for another 45 minutes before he returned to the office. He was short and rude and would not let me finish a sentence without interrupting me. Complete waste of time.

This self storage place has very clean and accessible lockers. To me, the best part has been that I payed my fees and could just forget about it and not have to worry. I dont have to worry about making payments or receiving spam emails. The site has heavy surveillance and a gated entrance accessible via your personal code. If you need to short term or extended storage near Ithaca, this is the place to go!

Ive been using Ithaca Self Storage for about a year and a half after checking out several other facilities in the Ithaca area. The facility is secure and easy to access 24/7 (you have your own personal gate code, so you can visit whenever), the staff has always been very helpful and friendly, and the price is reasonable and competitive for the area.

Not cheap: $61 a month for parking a car. Bad business ethics: When I called them they claimed that there is only one storage space left and tricked me into putting down a payment. However, when I got there I saw that hardly any spaces were taken. Unsatisfactory customer service: They were unwilling to hold on to a key for me.

If you want to always be able to talk to a real person, find someone in the office, and generally have any lack of problems, this is the best storage place in Ithaca. You need a passcode to enter, and there are cameras all around. Always been safe storing my stuff here between my various house moves-

Wouldnt honor the first month free coupon printed from their website. I showed them the coupon when I first came in, and they they showed me the units available and had me choose a unit. Then they told me my coupon didnt apply to any of the units they had open. Unpleasant experience.

I visit this location and was vey impress that they allow 24 hour access. Looking to stage my home so I can sell it and storing my items here. Its a little out of town of Ithaca 15 minutes but it worth the travel. MYoung
