Look Elsewhere. The construction next door has made unloading/loading nearly impossible if you are driving anything larger than a compact car. You will have to back out onto busy Northern Avenue which is just ridiculous. Additionally if you are in a van and someone parks behind you, you are going to be stuck. I waited 25 minutes last night because someone blocked my van in- there is just no room to maneuver, and backing in off of Northern avenue is also not a possibility. There is no way to back-in to the loading dock at all, you must parallel park to the loading dock, and walk a cart up a ramp- good luck getting a cart, they are sometimes tricky to find, or are poorly maintained. The elevator code works about 50% of the time. The drive in gate has been dismantled, so access is less secure. Rent was raised twice in less than 2 years. The hours of access or THE WORST. 7pm and youre out of luck. Im incredibly unhappy with the quality of the grounds and the lack of accessibility. I was never given notice that security gates were being removed or that the loading lot would become nearly inaccessible, yet my rent increased twice, when the building became less accessible and secure. You might get a good deal on space here because the facilities are so abysmal, it would work out for you if you never stored something larger than a few boxes at a time.

When you 1st sign up with them, they all will seem like helpful and want to help. Once you have storage with them none of the employee will be helpful at all. Just the other day I needed the trolly, i had to wait for the girl to send her text message then she looked at me, i had to open my mouth to say that i need the trolly and gave my id. She took my id without asking me how can i help you or even to say thank you. Nothing. 10 mins later i bring it back to get my id i see the same girl on her phone and there are 2 other employees who are talking about Iphone 7. All seem busy doing nothing. The girl on the phone looked at me and i had to tell her that i am here for my id. Again no greetings or no manners of thank you you welcome she gave the id to me. This time i felt that she was bit annoyed. so this is the kind of service you get. I will just pray to not to ask for help again and i am looking to purchase my own trolly so i dont have to disturb them from their busy work which is chatting about iphone 7 and texting friend.

Public storage is one of those mandatory things that a New Yorker encounters at least once. Nevertheless, it is still nice to have great service and a warm reception when storing things that may not fit in our shoe box apartments. Alexis and Kristina were very helpful and sweethearts. Kristina took the initiative to show me a different unit after hearing I had a lot of heavy furniture (the first unit was on the upper level and required a ladder to access). She was genuinely concerned with the well being of my things as well as my wallet. When I told Alexis that I really only needed the storage for 3 weeks tops she didnt charge me for the next month (which was initially the case). I scored the $1 for the 1st month promotion and even with administration fees, lock fees, and mandatory insurance it only cost me $50- normally $123 p/month. I will continue to do business with them and recommend them to any one within ear shot!

Since having a storage unit here Ive gotten nothing but foul mouth staffing from adolescent type behavior, threat of unjustified removal for false claims of violating unlisted rules and efforts to gain entry and access in the a.m. met with late arrival of store employees and here it is that the customer here is never right but wrong. Even the customer service line has a negative communication decorum heard in their responses but hey let me get this right, the corporation depends on the income of all their customers right? With the exception of a few, Victoria has been the best in addressing my questions and concerns. short of that well I do believe the process of treatment is selective at this place. Rain or shine on time means on time. Even with an 8 a.m. and the prior 9 a.m. dont expect this to be consistent if its not one thing its another.

Special thanks to Kristina from Public storage in Long island city for her awesome customer service skills. She explained everything to me the way it should have, and me and my mother were able to go right in without the stress and weight on our shoulders and left with everything there needs to know about the ins and outs without the stress. She answered every question we had for her with ease and made it very easy to understand. She even explained it in Spanish to my mother who does not understand no English how to come in and out of the building with ease. It was the perfect experience and i will diffidently recommend my friends and family to this location and company. I know I promised this review a while ago, but I finally have time. My husband and I needed storage because we are moving to Virginia for a while, and my tiny New York City apartment wasnt able to sustain both of our things. I came into this public storage and was greeted by Miriam. She was such a great help! Even though I had many questions& concerns, she did not make me feel like I was over asking. She had so much patience the whole time, even when I got an attitude due to my confusion. She helped me find a good size for our things, for a good price. Thank you soooo much Miriam for your great customer service skills, I know I can be difficult. But If you go to this public storage on northern ask for Miriam!!

Chris and Danielle we incredibly helpful on a day when I was in a serious rush and didnt have everything I needed to do the job properly. Chris was even kind enough to help me get rid of some extra cardboard I didnt have time to dispose of that day and it is the company policy that as a renter of a unit you are responsible for taking out your own trash. I was very grateful for the help and in other units Ive rented I am pretty sure the guys working there would have looked at me like I was from another planet if I asked for help getting rid of a few cardboard boxes. Even though its just storage these guys found a way to go above and beyond and I hope they realize that customers really do appreciate it.

I came by with a carload of materials I had received for my non profit as a donation. Needing a last minute storage, this location was not only the least expensive (by far), but also extremely clean and convenient. I was greeted by the staff member Brittany, and the manager Tina. They not only made my move in quick and easy, but even helped me to make sure I found my space and was moved in comfortably and quickly. The location is extremely clean, very well lit and has carts and elevators for easy moving. I was dreading finding storage, and was so extremely pleased and surprised at the incredible customer service experience and facilities. Highly recommend to anyone looking for storage!!!
