I am new to the Monroe County area from NJ. My cars check engine light came on and so I researched for a reliable mechanic. Sam Lovetros was the first name that appeared. After reading his reviews I visited his shop and made an appointment. I had an idea what was wrong with my car but once they looked my car over the repairs were much more dire. Actually my car was unsafe to drive and the costs of repairs were substantial. I really appreciated that Sam allowed me to explore my options because I considered buying a new car but after a day I decided that the repair on my old girl would be best. I am glad I did. My car drives like a dream even better than when I purchased it and the repair I thought I needed Sam informed me that it could be repaired at a later time. I definitely want to cosign all the reviews and state that this is one of the few times a mechanic didnt buy and sell me because I am woman. He was fair and honest and even gave me an approximate 15% discount. Thanks Sam you and your staff are the best!!!

My two experiences with this garage have been superb. Unlike the many chains and franchise auto repair facilities around Rochester, this garage has not made a business of charging car owners extra for unneeded and unrequested work. Today, I asked for diagnosis of a clunking on the rear drivers side when I hit a bump. I thought it was a bad strut or a loose exhaust part. Sam drove the car, put it on the lift and saw a leaking shock absorber. What he did next was amazing and really appreciated. He phoned a local Hyundai dealer from whom he orders parts and confirmed shocks are covered on my car for 10 years or 60,000 miles. My car has 50,000 miles and is five years old, so Sam advised me to get the repair for free at the Hyundai dealer. When I offered to pay him for the time and diagnosis, he would not accept payment. Its a pleasure doing business with such an honest mechanic and nice guy.

Sam and his team are awesome, honest guys. I went in for an oil change and asked him if he could look at my steering since it was making a clunking noise and had loose steering. Instead of insisting it was a bunch of things Sam was straight up and told me its extremely common in G6s and its going to be very expensive to fix and it is not worth it because there is no safety issue. He also got a chunk of rust out of my rear rotor that was causing a squealing noise. Then he went and searched the problem for the steering and turns out GM dealers will replace the part for free if the car is under 150,000 miles. He saved me a ton of money and stress. This is how every mechanic should be. I wont take my business any where else now. Hard to find a businessman whos honest and treats you As he would expect to be treated.

Best automotive shop in all of Monroe County! I took my vehicle to a dealership to get a free oil change because I purchased my vehicle there. I was told that I needed $1500 in maintenance work that needed to be done to my vehicle ASAP, including brakes. I declined all the maintenance work because the only automotive shop I trust is LoVetro Automotive. I immediately called Sam and he fit me right in. My vehicle was thoroughly checked over; Sam and Dan said my vehicle is in mint condition and it doesn’t need anything. The brakes still have almost half their life left. I will never trust a dealership again, not even for my free oil changes! Sam LoVetro Automotive has great, honest employees and you cant beat the prices!! LoVetro Automotive has a customer for life!

I recently took my car into Lovetro Automotive to have a diagnostic run to make sure I bought a decent used car. Not knowing much about the mechanical side of cars, I searched for a professional in the Rochester Area and I was given the recommendation to check out Sam Lovetro Automotive. He was able to get my car right in and looked over the entire car to confirm I made a decent purchase. When I returned to the shop and asked "What do I owe you", he replied "Well catch up next time". What a guy! Its hard to find a decent mechanic who you can trust to give you an honest opinion and price. Let alone take time out of his day to give me peace of mind, at no cost. Do yourself a favor and give this guy the business you and your car deserve. Sam, youre the man! Thanks again.

They know what they are doing and just exactly what your car needs (no extra stuffs). I have been having a noise problem with my car for few months. I took it to the couple other mechanic chain places, they could not find the root cause of the noise and suggested to replace a lot of parts (which would have costed a lot if I went along). The car problem got worse, so Ive decided to try Sam Lovetro Automotive closed by my place. I took my car in at 8.30am, they looked at my car and have it fixed by 9.30am. And they charge me nothing for the fixing the problem! Recommend this place if you are looking for a good and honest mechanics.

Prices are great and the people know what they are doing (even with a foreign car). This was my first time there and was very happy with the quality and service I received. I have to worst luck with cars because I know nothing about them and thats something most people take advantage of. NOT HERE! My tie rod replacement was quick and the prices were much better than I expected! The guys were easy to talk to and didnt try and sell me for things I dont need. They didnt waste my time when came to service and worked around my schedule. Never going back to anyone else! Sam LoVetro, youve got a customer for life.

i am a government employee and we used to take all of our vehicle there for service. they were always friendly and helpful, but i never new actually how their service was until i took my personal car their several times. i was charged a fair price, and the mechanic would always tell me if i should go with the cheaper priced parts or the more expensive ones. he gave me scenarios where a cheaper part may make more sense, or where not to skimp. i have always recommended this place to my friends and am glad to see that others have had the same experience.

If you live in Rochester - and even if you dont! - you need to go to Lovetro. Im a single girl and the only thing I know about cars is how to start them, so Im usually an easy target for mechanics. But every time Ive been to Lovetro Ive been treated respectfully and given excellent service at an excellent price. Im considering moving away from Rochester...but I dont want to leave now that Ive finally found trustworthy car guys! Thats how good they are!!! I honestly cant say enough praiseworthy things about Sam and Dan. They deserve your business!

I had blindly had my car serviced at a local dealership for years. After all of my coworkers strongly recommended Sam, I made the switch about two years ago. Sam is an upstanding, honest, and clever mechanic. He always strives to provide the best service for his customers, while always keeping cost in mind. He will never up-sell you or try to convince you to repair or replace something that does not need attention unlike many dealers. Sam will always have my business no matter what car I have in the future.
