Brace yourself, this is a read, but it’s worth it. I have been a long time patron (over 8 years and counting…), of the Hogan & Sons Goodyear in Leesburg, VA. Over the years, I have never had anything but excellent service on my car from H&S.G., but I will say that there were periods when I wasn’t as enthusiastic about the front-end customer service, and even contemplated leaving do to C.S. and their trying to "sell" me extra stuff I dont need. I stuck with them though, and currently, the front end service as well as the service on my car have been nothing but fantastic. Thank you Troy, Gene, and Alex, you guys are awesome. My previous experiences with auto repair shops have been mixed. I have owned a couple of lemon cars that needed a lot of repairs and I remember one time leaving a shop with duct tape on my engine. You can imagine I was not happy. So I say in earnest that I value a place like H&S.G. that is honest with me about the service I need to do on my car, follows through with quality work, and as a bonus, has friendly customer service on the front end as well. My experiences with H&S.G.: My last car was 8 years old and had over 155,000 miles on it when an unfortunate accident earlier this year left it totaled (don’t worry, I’m fine). So as you can see, I drive a lot. In fact, Alex mentioned that I am in the running as one of the customers with the most amount of driving done. With that car, I did all of my services and oil changes at H&S.G. and I never had anything major to fix, just the more or less expensive routine maintenance and minor fixes on my car. I rotate my tires with each oil change, and while I know they have a courtesy shuttle, I don’t usually take advantage of it. If I think it will be a while for my service, I go walking in downtown Leesburg. I have bought 2 sets of 80,000 mile tires at this location, and have had to use the warranty on the tires twice due to hazardous road conditions. My new car hasn’t really needed much yet except an oil change/tire rotation. It’s nice to walk in and have people remember my name and my car, and they asked about my old car when I brought my new “sexy car” in to see them. Most recent encounter: Last week, my mother was visiting from NC, and while her car had been on the fritz, she made it up here ok, and the car seemed to be doing fine… until it wasn’t. When my mom asked me where to take her car, I told her H&S.G., and we had the car towed there. They looked the car over. It had both major and minor fixes to be done, including a new clutch, but to do everything would have cost well over what her car was worth, and it was aging with over 150,000 miles on it. So we discussed the pros and cons of fixing it, options, and then came back to Hogans and discussed with Troy and Gene, and they were honest and candid in our discussion, we even broke it down to what fixes have to be done now verses fixes she can do later when she gets back home. Ultimately, my mother decided to buy a new car and sell her currently non-running Saturn. She decided she needed long-term reliability since she didn’t have the money to fix the car now and have it break with something else in a year. Next, we weren’t sure how to sell my mom’s car, her living in NC and not having the title, so we asked Troy and Gene, who were so helpful. I was able to sell the car on my mother’s behalf this week for a fair price after my mother sent me the title, and my mother was nothing but pleased with her encounter with everyone. Bottom line, I would give 5 stars for every encounter I’ve had with this location Id say in the last year or so (since Troy took over). I have estimated at least 40 encounters with the Leesburg Hogans between my regular maintenance and occasional repairs, and of course, the mother phenomenon.

I am going to agree with "Kevin" who wrote in late 2009. I used this shop occasionally until mid 2009, when my Honda Accord hit 100K and I realized that both the timing belt and water pump needed replacement. I checked my records and recalled that these guys had replaced my belt way before it needed to be (at about 50 or 60 K). I asked them to check and they said that unless it indicated otherwise they had NOT also replaced the pump! Now, one could say that I was stupid to have allowed this (and I take my share of responsibility). But they are the so-called "experts"! Why did they do this? Now I am in a situation where I have a good belt (maybe!!) but an old pump - potentially dangerous with Hondas because if one goes the other does too! Of course now I have no recourse other than to warn you out there that if they did this to me they will do other similar things to you. If you are not very familiar with your cars engine, I say AVOID this place! I now wonder if they even did oil changes properly. How could I really be sure since Hondas in particular have a design that almost hides the oil filter from top-side view? I now resolutely avoid this place, and having also had a very bad (if more minor) experience NOT getting a car wash at another Goodyear-franchise place in Ashburn (on Ice Rink road), I will now also avoid Goodyear franchisees EVERYWHERE!! PS: Id have written this earlier if Id seen this forum as a way to post a review! Good luck to you if you have had any kind of repair at this careless place! ALSO - I recommend the MIDAS next door instead - Ive had other major and minor repair/service there, and nothing has ever been misrepresented!

Horrible service, completely disrespected! I went to the Hogan and Sons Goodyear in Leesburg VA to have my tire patched because of a nail. I asked them how much it would cost and the guy at the counter jokingly said "that will cost you 800 dollars! I just laughed at his awkward comment and tried to pretend like it didnt bother me. They said to "drop it off" and it will be done in an hour and a half. I live close by so I literally just walked home. When I came back in an hour and a half they still werent finished so I patiently waited in the waiting room. They had the golf channel on and the guy at the desk asked me if I liked golf, I said "not really" and he said "what, it doesnt matter". At this point I was starting to get ticked off and I asked him to stop talking to me, he then got mad (it was close to closing time and im sure he wanted to get out of there) and handed me back my car keys and said "here you can leave, I cant deal with your hostility"! He kicked me out of the store, still having a nail in my tire! The moral of the story, dont go to hogan and sons in Leesburg va, they failed to earn my business and theyll most likely do the same to you!
