I went in because my muffler was loud and needed repair. The suggested that my axle also needed repair and while I didnt want to spend more since my car was already in the shop I figured Id just got for it. A few hours later I get a call telling me the axle was rusted and they cant get it out and now the car is undriveable. Kind of the classic scenario. They keep working at it and I get another call saying I may need to tow it to a different repair shop for a really expensive fix. At this point Im expecting the worst and have to leave the car overnight. The next day they start looking for a used replacement part and come up with some creative solutions to solve the problem. It brings up something of a moral dilemma. My car needed that repair to be safe. My car has 120k miles on it and and was rusted to a point where it was really difficult to fix. The mechanic quoted me a price and it took 4x that time and effort to fix. It could have turned into 10x had they not come some up with some solutions, but that is their job. What do we do? What is right? I didnt think it was fair to hold them to only the original price as my car need repair in a what they could not have known, they strolled into a hornets nest. At the same time I went in for a cheap muffler repair and ended up fixing things that I didnt see as a problem, I was quoted and agreed to a price for that, not all the other horseshit it ended up being. I went in knowing that they kept me up to date with each step as it unfolded. I never felt they were trying to screw me, in fact I felt that they were just trying to get my car the hell out of the garage. When I went to the manager and there was no argument, not belittling or bullshit. He explained what had to happen to drive the car and basically put in my court. I offered something that I felt like I could live with, and was more than double the original quote but not even close to the problems the car caused. He accepted it, we shook hands I left left feeling like I could live with myself for not screwing these hardworking guys who are willing to do a job I cant and dont really want to do. Ultimately, I am really pleased with the interacting and left feeling like things could have gotten way worse. I felt that I was treated fairly and they took ownership of whatever problems came up. There is no easy answer but there is a good path. I trust these guys, and would highly recommend them.

Best service in town. Weve been taking our cars to these guys for several years now and have had only positive experiences. They consistently provide excellent customer service, high-quality work and unbeatable prices. They have convenient hours and have never hesitated to help us troubleshoot a problem, even when we drop in without an appointment. They give you an honest assessment of your options (even if it would mean a loss of business for them) and they dont treat you like an idiot if you ask questions about your car. As a woman, I feel completely comfortable taking my car to this garage...they have never treated me with anything but respect and integrity and I always feel like Im given enough information to make the decisions that are right for my own, personal situation. They will fix your car right the first time and will stand by their work and make it right if something goes wrong...they have even helped us get out of a jam caused by another garages sloppy work without any additional charge! The bottom line is that you wont find better service, better value, better quality or better convenience anywhere in town. Warning: DO NOT go to the other Monro near the mall...you wont find the same kind of service there.

When I first used this Monroe 2 years ago, they used to be pretty good. Now, I think they only cares about giving out discount, not customer service. Last year, they left a hand tool on top of my radiator after servicing (if the tool drop into my fan belt, it would have done major damages; I didn’t know until I did a routine check of the car fluid. When I told them about it, they said the guy that drop going to miss his tool.) Our latest crappy experience happens today. My wife made an online state inspection appointment for today. We did not get any call. So, my wife called them today and asked what’s going on. The manager was apologetic, blamed the Monroe corporate website for the mix-up, and said that he can squeeze us in at 11am; he said we would only need to wait an hour. When I arrived at the shop, the same manager said they don’t have any appointment scheduled at 11am. After some back and forth, he suddenly remembered, but said I have to wait 3 to 5 hours now. He blamed my wife for not listening carefully; this is from the same person that blamed the Monroe website and didn’t remember our 11am schedule. Well, I need to forget about their discounts and find another auto repair shop.

I was on the road when a squeak developed in my rear wheel. As I had an international flight to catch I was concerned least I break down on the road. I called Monroe (based on previous Monroe experience) in Saratoga Springs and was given an appointment. I brought it in, and also requested a State inspection, as that was due. After a couple of hours they called me to say that the brakes were fine, but there was some rust on the backing plate which they had scraped off. When I returned I got the bill: they only charged for the inspection; not even a half hour charge for the other work!! Now that is service by an honest mechanics shop. I have thus no hesitation in giving a glowing reference!

Had appointment made online that for some reason didnt get confirmed at the shop. They took me in immediately anyway. Gave an accurate assessment of what I needed, I had a coupon from their website for brake pads which they also rolled the price of labor into instead of adding it to the rotors labor charge as well which wouldve doubled the charge for labor, saved about 90 bucks. With the coupon paid $110 less than the same service at another local private owned shop recently. Very good customer service, good with keeping you informed as well.

Asked for them to check up why my muffler was loud, came back to find my car with dozens of new scratches and dents all over the side, front and hood, and a saw frame from an electric back saw floating about in my engine cavity! God knows why the hell that was in there but long story short is Monro is the least trustworthy mechanic shop Ive ever dealt with in 20 years. Absolutely NEVER go to them. Zero trust in their employees or practices.

needed tires and oil change. quick, painless, and affordable. i was amazed by the way they talked to me. Usually, as a woman, I feel "talked down" to at a mechanic. Here, they were polite, understood what I needed and provided it. They didnt try to push a sale, and were very professional. in and out in 2 hours.
