I must say that I have been with townsend for many years. I these past few months: My family and I have had a horrible experience. We thought that we were getting a beautiful home that would suit our growing family. Instead, it may have looked beautiful on the outside, but it was trashed on the inside. We were told that everything wrong with the property would be fixed before we moved in. Knowing that we were running out of time to put our children in a decent home and school, we are still trying to get our repairs fixed. It has become such safety hazard for our family, because we cannot even lock our back door. We were told to put a stick in the door, by the agent, to make it a quick fix problem. It took six months just for them to look at the door for and estimate. However, that have never come back to repair it. I have gotten so afraid to sleep at night, in fear that someone would easily open our door and rob us. We have a anti freeze linking in my daughters room that they have yet to fix as well. We were now being told that we are getting a new property manager and she was completely nasty to us, as if we made the bad issues in the home. The carpet is so old that that we thought that would be replaced too prior to moving in...we were told to cover up the holes with area rugs so it would not rip more. The new property manager was calm and "some what" professional to us, but she spoke to us like we were beneath her and that she would be back to do a redo of the inspection. I felt that she was very sexist, and racist to my husband and myself. She told us that we ONLY had a month to fix the defiencies that were not up to her standards, but it has taken this company six times as long to come and look at safety and hazardous issues that have been ongoing. We were treated as if we were the ones that made these problems, when we clearly turned in our inspection sheet and pictures in order to get these repairs done! Out of all the years that I have been with townsend, this is the worst that I have been treated in such a manner, it has been shown to me that she is unprofessional in her communication! 09/19/2014 NEVER RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!!! Regardless, if you have written and verbal agreements from them, they will still try to find a way to take your money. Th property managers are the most disrespectful, sexist and racist property mangers that my family and I have had to deal with. One told us that puerto ricans should be used to bugs so we should know how to get rid of them, And told us that maybe we should tell our children to stay always from the dry rot! The other property manager didnt even come out for the 6 month inspection, she sent someone else to do her job. She has also avoided my emails about where our rent money is going, and why it is taking so long to fix repairs. We can only use a 1/3 of the house because of water damage and tremendous dry rot that has become a safety hazard. The floors (carpet and Laminate are coming apart) and I believe may be creating mold. But, all we get are "this is a cosmetic issue" The last email she sent to me was that SHE IS ONLY THE MESSENGER AND SHE IS TIRED OF ARGUING WITH ME!! How dare and how rude. I am currently going to the court house, due to the neglience of this house. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM! They have not value for the safety of house and tenants! I would not even give them a zero, a -1 suits them better!

Ive resided in the Morgantown crest apartments for about a year, nearing the end of my lease I came down on orders. I tried serval times to contact my property manager via phone finally as my leave date came nearer I started sending emails .. thats when I finally started getting calls back. My property manager told me Id be set to get out the date I gave him assuming I gave him my orders and leave forms (I am active duty military). Later, he told me I couldnt do that an my paperwork from the military meant nothing to townsend real estate. I tried calling the front desk , the women I spoke to told me she would relay the message and email me the procedure of moving out and put in my notice to vacate since he still hadnt done it after three weeks. He stopped replying to any questions I had and only emailed me once in the last month and half asking where to send my deposit. Ive made every payment on time and never had any issues. I feel disrespected as a customer being ignored by a manager even after I asked if I could speak to someone else i dont know who else to contact. And never understood why after he confirmed with me that i wouldnt pay after a certain date he changed his statement and started ignoring me. My property manager is Robert Brown and I still have yet to get my answers or money. I leave messages and emails but for some reasons the ones that are important he doesnt receive. The management is stupid and also I contacted the front desk, I still have yet to get a response from a a supervisor. All she said was "it must be a misunderstanding, well have Alex contact you". Who ever that is. I would never recommend this place to anyone especially military.

If I could rate them worse I would. If problems come up in the home while I was staying there I was immediately at fault. -Ice storm this past winter knocked the fence down in they back yard, they tried to make it seem as if I knocked the fence down and blamed it on the snow. -Hard wind blow the hand rail off the porch and my integrity was questioned Problems with the home before I moved in where along the lines of -The garbage disposal didnt work when I moved in they said they would get it fixed. It took them 4 months to get someone in there to replace it. -I wasnt able to use the master bathroom bathtub the entire 18 months I was living in that house because of a crack in the tub. They never even sent someone to look at it, and try surely didnt reduce the rent. -I had to buy new air filters for the home as soon a I moved in - window seal had dirt a wasp neat in them -No one from Townsend came with me to do a walk through when I moved in, I even requested someone to come by and verify what I was writing in the inspection packet was sound and understandable. When I left they steamrolled me with the deposit too. I got 400$ of a 1400$ deposit for issues that where fabricated and preexisting. Im in the military, they took complete advantage of me an my disposition. When I left that place could have passed the strictest of housing inspections. They refused to inspected the place while I was in town, they insisted they where busy. Then when I get to Washington state and call back asking about my deposit any they drug me across the coals. Im really angry about this and am working on having Townsend black listed from military use.
