Very unhappy with Lucore Automotive and I will never again solicit them for any services and I will encourage others to stay away as well. I bought a 2005 Subaru Forester with around 90,000 miles from them a couple months ago. It is a well known fact that it is a good idea to replace the water pump and timing belt in any car around 100,000 miles and I was particularly interested in this car because the ad stated the timing belt and water pump had already been replaced. When I had the car looked at by another mechanic he told me the timing belt/water pump had clearly not been replaced. I took it back to Lucore and they basically admitted that they "assumed" it had been replaced recently because thats what the seller told them. What a dangerous thing to assume seeing as that could have been untrue or the replacement could have occurred at a much lower mileage and therefore would be due much sooner. But they agreed to do it themselves (as well as fix 2 leaks) before I purchased the car. I believed them and paid a premium price (my fault, not theirs) for the car with the understanding that this was done and the leaks were fixed. After purchasing the car I noticed there was still a coolant leak. I assumed it wasnt the water pump because they told me they just replaced the timing belt/pump and it would be almost ridiculous to replace one and not the other. Well, long story short my car had to be towed to a shop the other day because the water pump developed a severe leak. Now I have to pay for a costly fix because Lucore was deceitful and despite me giving them the benefit of the doubt and trusting that they were selling me a decent car, they screwed me over. Im not going to rant and curse them out because whats done is done, but I will say Im very unhappy with how they treated me even when I tried my best to be a careful and well-informed used car buyer. They blatantly lied to me about the repairs that they performed which is unbelievable and entirely unacceptable.

I came to Lucore because of the positive reviews but soon regretted it after seeing my bill. First off they charged me a $140.00 diagnostic fee just to look under the hood, Which they told me it would and I okayed it. You think this would entitle you to a list of the issues wrong with your car because after all it is a diagnosis but no, when I picked up my car they read a list from memorization, when I asked for it on paper they said they never give it out on paper. They charged me 96.00/HR for labor and had it taking 3.8 hours to remove and replace valve cover seals adding up to 364.00 labor. I googled this and checked other places Midas quoted the work for 120.00 labor I know my car is older being a 1993 but if anything that means it would take less time for this work. I also had an exhaust heat shield reattached so out the door with tax it was 665.08 bill. When I okayed the work to be done over the phone after dropping off the car it sounded like all the work was going to cost $400.00 (estimated) total for heat shield and valve seal replacement, but once I saw the final bill (picking up my car) I was faberglasted. When I called back the next business day and asked why it took so long for Valve covers they said it was because it takes longer on newer cars. Keep in mind my car is a 1993 Ford Taurus. I would say dont take your care here unless you are already pretty car savvy.

I am new to the Columbus area-- right before I moved my AC went out the week after I had it charged and serviced. The auto service store I took it to looked at the AC unit for twenty minutes and decided I needed a new compressor for 800+ dollars. Needless to say I said no to that and moved. I then went to Lucore Automotive purely on a whim-- I basically googled auto services in the area and they were the first ones I called. It took three total visits to fix the AC-- two I would call diagnostic/figuring out whats wrong and one to fix. It was not the compressor-- that "fix" would have done squat and been costly. I appreciate a company that takes their time to find out what the actual problem is and fix it. It turned out to be a different part (I cant remember which one!) That wasnt working, which they replaced. A little over a month later my AC works beautifully and the cost was reasonable for the amount of time it took. I recommend lucore automotive to anyone. Oh and also they have insanely comfortable couches in their waiting room-- a nice perk if you have to wait on your car!

I called to get a general quote on brake pad replacement and replacing transmission fluid. I was told an inspection would first need done (around $110) to determine if those services are actually needed on the car and an approximate cost of those services couldnt be given until that is done. I asked if the inspection cost is applied toward the cost of the service or waived if the service is done in the shop and I was told no. 2 recommendations: The inspection costs should be applied to the cost of the service if its done in your shop. Thats my opinion however Ive never been to an independent shop who hasnt done that and recently discovered that Buckeye Nissan also does that as well, which is where I got my service done. Second, an approximate quote for general services should be able to be provided without the need to pay for an inspection. I have not had any services performed at this shop however this is intended to provide an objective review of my experience (with exception to my 2 recommendations) and feedback for the company. .

So here it goes...I am from New Jersey and drove my Ford F350 to Columbus to pick up my daughters furniture as she is moving back home. The truck began bucking and shutting down, we were not going to make it back home in that condition. I googled Diesel service and called David at Lucore. "Can you drive it over, and we will check it out fix it and get you back on the road" Hmmmmm could be nice or nightmare !! I finally got there, Rich pulled the truck in right away, diagnosed the vehicle and recommended that we dig in to the simple problem first, the fuel heater in the bowl, appeared to be loose and shorting out. Part ordered, installed truck test driven , problem fixed. I am on my way home and David Carter calls me on the cell to make sure I am on the road and that everything is OK. These guys are not only professional, reasonably priced, but truly good people. Columbus...Jersey is jealous.

One of the last of its kind, a true dying breed. This shop truly does care for its customers. Austin went above and beyond for me. I have a hour-long commute and teach during the day. Austin was incredibly kind enough to come to my work and get the car and get it taken care of. He returned it to me before my day was over with the key, receipts, and printout in the passenger seat. He also sent me updates via text and also sent me picture updates. He also gave me his cell to give to another tire shop regarding a tire issue. He could have made money but chose the customers safety over profit. Guys, this is truly a shop that cares about its customers. Go here.
