I have been a Cox customer for 2 years now. Throughout those 2 years I have had numerous issues with them. When I originally started service with them, they gave me a very specific billing price and said it wouldnt change for at least a year because I had "locked" it in. They even gave me a $100 gift card for locking it in. I thought great. Then my bill was never that specific price. Ever. It would come and be $20 over and I would call, and I would be on hold for 10 minutes to speak to someone, this wouldnt be an issue except I had to call all the time. They would say, well that $20 is a payment on your cable box, youll make that for 18 months and then the box will be yours and you wont have to pay that anymore. I thought, "okay, wish they would have mentioned that, but okay." Then after 6 months my payment doubled. They said they had given me a 6 month introductory price, I thought "well thank you, but you shouldve told me that instead of telling me my bill was locked in?" When I asked about downgrading my internet they said I could but would be charged many fees, because I had previously locked in my services. Okay, so I paid out that year, and then I downgraded my internet so my bill wouldnt be $150 every month. Fast forward to this year, I got a new roommate and had her name put on the account as being able to pay so that she wouldnt have a problem paying her half every month. They charged me $35, as an account transfer. They told me that they had to or she wouldnt have access to the account even to make a payment, even if she had the bill and all the information. Then they changed my internet information so that I couldnt make an online payment, I still cant make an online payment. When I called to try and fix this issue, they wanted my payment, and said they would fix the internet payment issue after they got my card information. After they got my card information they hung up. Now Ive decided to cancel my cable. They are charging me $270 because I havent turned in my cable box yet. They said I was just renting it. I turn it in and make a payment that is supposed to be for this month, and I just got a bill, showing the payment, and showing additional charges that are more than my entire bill should be...due this month. They dont send detailed statements and they dont seem to care about customer service unless you call a complaint line, then they will apologize and still not explain anything. I doubt anything they do is illegal, but its just plain frustrating. I think Im done. Anyone know a good internet service provider?

So far so good: Just moved to this area where we will be using Cox internet. We did a lot of research in preparation to choosing this service, and it seems to be the best fit. There are a lot of complaints about prices going up and "hidden" fees, which are all valid gripes. But if you look hard enough, the information is out there. We are aware that prices go up after the first year, we are using our own compatible modem, and we installed all the equipment ourselves to avoid unnecessary charges, so hopefully there will be no surprises in regards to the bill. The customer service at this physical location was really great. They were friendly and extremely helpful. She even called right after we left to relay a bit of information she left out while we were in the store. I didnt give 5 stars because my husband said that the man he spoke to on the phone sounded as if he were annoyed that we called. After reading all the 1 star reviews, I have a feeling that dealing with customer service over the phone is going to be a pain in the behind.

I absolutely HAAAAATE Cox. The worst customer service Ive ever had. Called to cancel 6 weeks ago and next month I get a bill for $190 called to speak to a supervisor the first 4 people told me I had to pay it to cancel it even though I didnt have the service. So 5 min later with some threats of going to court, talked to a real supervisor and getting a check for $10 back in the mail. Oh and if you like technology and want to talk to them about 4k or anything new in the world they have no clue what theyre talking about. Cox if youre going to hire people make sure you train them.

I went in about a year ago, pleased to have a store close to my resident. After the way the young girl serving me was not helpful or professional, I went back to going to 104th. I will drive anywhere for good customer service.

The staff doesnt follow through on what they say. Got stuck in a contract and had to work my way through phone support to handle it.
