I have a fully restored and upgraded 1980 Turbo Diesel IH Scout II that I brought in after reading some of the reviews of this diesel specialty shop on-line. They seemed to be the best qualified and I was impressed with their shop size and complexity. I also went through the whole oil change deal and diagnostics deal but was given an estimate. Trying to establish new care for this high end vehicle is always a pain in the patute so I went along with the program knowing that nothing is cheap when it comes to servicing this vehicle. They did a great job on the oil change and diagnostics suggesting we take care of some problems with leaks in the future and made the suggestion that we check out the sending unit in the fuel tank as I was also having problems with the fule guage and heater/defroster. I brought he vehicle in several months later. They have a great tickler file system and sent me updates as to servicing needs by mail several times which kept me on my toes. To make a long story short, the problems I was having with acceleration, power and heating were isolated to a fule tank full of corrosion mostly from a corroded sending unit which I saw later when I picked up the vehicle. I was also told that the non-operating heat and defroster was caused by a bad thermostat that was replaced. These repairs took all of about 8 weeks. I would give this encounter 4 stars except that when I picked up my vehicle, I noticed that the emergency brake is now very weak and loose. This probably means it was driven around with the emergency brake on or it was mis adjusted. I still dont feel that the heating/defroster problem is resolved as it still does not get warm in the cab unless the defroster is on. Could be a bad heater control cable. I was also miffed at the reluctance of AG to use a certified IH Scout II vendor that I have known and trusted over the past 4 years. They preferred to use a vendor unknown to me who apparently delayed the whole preocess by sending the wrong parts for a gasoline engine (so I was told) delaying the repair a good two weeks. The folks I wanted them to use, who restored the vehicle know it better than anybody, (IH North only in Grass Valley California). They restored the vehicle basicaly from a piece of crap to its present almost pristine condition. They would have not sent the wrong parts . I gurantee that! Anyway, I went along with AG so that we could all find some comfort level of working with each other. The work on the fuel system seems to be working quite well with resolution of the problem I had when I bought it in with increased over all performance and power. If the brake problem was not now there, ad the defroster/heater were working better I would give them 4 stars. The expense of the repair was in-line with its complexity and I was kept up to date on the repair process by the very nice guy Patrick. I understand that they need to have the trust of the customer in their process but I have always believed that you can always learn something new. I felt that at times my opinions about how to get the job done were marginalised or ignored. However, when it came time to pay the bill I was the center of attention! I would have appreciated being listened to a little closer becasue the input I had would have made the process smoother in my opinion. Afetr all, I am the one paying for the service and repairs. I am not saying that the options were not explained to me as far as what work might be best, I am saying that when I ask for a specific vendor for parts be used (that I am paying for) then I would like a good reason why a different vendor be used especially on a vehicle like this old bird. So, in conclusion, although AG has the tendency to be a little dogmatic and closed minded about things, they do good work that you pay good money for, but leaving me with a whole new problem was not my idea of excellent service. Hopefully they can put the ER Brake back to its sweet tight position it was in when I turned the vehicle over to them.

Well Four shops and many headaches later, I called Shawn at AG Diesel and described my symptoms of my 2004 Silverado Duramax Diesel to him. At this point I was frustrated didnt know what to do, needed my vehicle for work and commuting. He listened to my jumble of words for a half an hour and said " tell you what, why dont you bring your truck in and let us take a look at it". Well to be honest the other four shops I went to in the Portland area said the same thing and many $$$ later they never figured it out. Took the truck into AG Diesel as the last resort. Scheduled an appointment and let the ride begin. Two weeks into diagnosing and many many hours later, nobody could figure it out, but they got it running decent with still some rough idle issues. But was drive-able now! So paid them took my truck back home and did minor repairs, such as replace batteries, change oil, fuel filters etc. Well after I had it a month the monster was back and was un-drive-able AGAIN! I didnt know what to do. Went ahead and climbed under the hood for the 100th time and started wigging wires and fuel lines. Well finally relief, I think I had found the culprit! Called Cameron at AG Diesel with pure excitement and told him what I found and wanted him to take the truck and see what he thought. Took the truck down there they fixed the issue and charged me VERY little $$$ for the 5 hours of work they did the second go around. Could not believe that people/ shops were even around that would do this for there customers,. Cameron and his crew did an excellent and professional job and am more than happy to recommend this shop to anyone that has any gas or diesel vehicle repairs that need done. I will definitely be back in again. Thank you again AG Diesel Team for getting my truck back on the road.

I had A.G. diesel evalueate a 99 Ford F250 Superduty 4x4 7.3 Diesel before I decide to purchase it from a used car dealer over the internet. I am not located anywhere near Portland and he and his staff were my eyes and ears for this very scary purchase. Due to age and mileage and fact that it is a diesel I could not get any mobile service to come look at it for me at dealer. I am still not sure if I will purchase vehicle from dealer. Partick and his capable and friendly staff proably saved me $2,500 - $3,000 if I do chose to buy vehicle. I had no trouble scheduling an appointlment for truck over phone and it was at shop within 24 hours of my call during the HOLIDAYS!!!! They went over vehicle completely and provided me with a detailed list of what I would I would need to bring vehicle up to running standard since I would be driving it almost 1,200 miles home the day I bought it. They even send good pictures of every dent and scratch on the truck, and Patrick was able to look at all mods previous owners had done to it and tell me exactly what I had. The receptionist Melanie was super nice and friendly over the phone. If I do purchase vehicle, I will be bringing it to AG diesel the moment I buy it to fix what needs to be fixed because they treated me like family! I am a real person who is trying to find a very specific make and model of truck and doing it online is a NIGHTMARE! They made me feel secrue about amount I offered dealer and I felt that If I do get truck for price I offered that I got a good deal because of the service I recieved here!! Thanks Guys, Ross Meyer
