Ive waited a few months and two oil changes to write this review to see how the work has held out since it was such a big project, but I couldnt be happier.... A few months ago, my truck was overheating, and I took it down the road to pep boys, where I had been getting my oil changed for a little while. They took it in for inspectiona nd later that day called me to tell me about what needed to be done, which was pretty much a new cooling system... almost $1000. After making calls around for what they had told me I needed and what the price would be, I found that they were either about the same or less then other places. I called in and gave them the okay and the next afternoon it was ready to go, they even used a coupn to give me 10% off since Im a loyalty program member. Then the big issue happened, while pressurizing my system the headgasket blew. Not really their fault, the engine had 220k miles on it. They sent a tow out to pick up my tuck, brought it back in, diagnosed the issue, and that evening called me with the options. They could either replace the gasket (but with such a high mileage engine it would only be a matter of time...), they could replace the engine with a refurbished one if they could find one, or they could refund me my money from the work they just did. I asked them to try and locate and engine while I made up my mind about what I chould do (or start looking for a new car). The next day before I could call them back, they told me that they had located a motor and could have that afternoon to start work. I asked how much this was going to cost me and Robert (the guy on the phone) said, nothing. I was so suprised and didnt understand. He explained to me that they didnt have to do this for me (of course they didnt), but they chose to take on a risky job with such a high mileage engine and they were going to see it through. He told me he couldnt let me walk away from their shop with a sour taste in my mouth. Wow! A shop that actaully really cares about me and my truck and not just their cash register. I thanked him and they got to work. Two business days later, I had my truck back in great shape. That was a couple oil changes ago, and the work is still everything I could have asked for. This place has earned my business, this vehicle or any other one I may end up with someday, and I will always send anyone who asks my advice on shops. Thank yall so much for being the only shop Ive ever been to that didnt make me feel like they were trying to pull something over on me, its such a great thing to see.

Very Disappointed. Just got my car back from them, i took my own tires in to be put on my rims and have my old ones removed they chipped and scratched all my rims the also knocked all the waits off and i know they werent ment to be taken off because a couple were loss and barely hanging on. The only reason I put 2 stars was because they were the cheapest price but I guess thats why my rims are now messed up. I dont know about there other services but if they cant do athe least a half decent job with tires and rims I would never let them touch anything major. Also I took the car in at 2 they said I should be in soon becauseI was there next car, well 4:30 came around and I called to find out they were almost done so I went there and had to wait 15 more minutes. They gave me a courtesy check list with nothing looked at which is funny because I belived it to be a courtesy check. Anyways 2.45 hours to switch tires and remember no courtesy check. Next time Im going to geralds or really anywhere but here. UPDATE: NOT ONLY WAS THE RECKLESS JOB DONE COSTING ME $60 BUT TO FIX AND READY COAT MY RIMS IT WOULD BE ANOTHER $50, SO LETS SEE $110 FOR A TIRE SWAP. THANKS PEP BOYS!!! UPDATE: Im totally finished with this place went to the store side to look at some new rims, ended up wanting to buy a shirt, and a sweat shirt. The sweat shirt said 34.99 they had a sign saying all sweat shirts 19.99 the tall skinny blond kid would not honer the price change, the shirt said 14.99 with a sale sign saying 30% off again he would not honor the price change. It gets better, Im talking to him about why he wont honor the price another customer comes in with a battery he dead stops talking to me and starts to help the other customer. Im not making any of this up this is truly the worst place I have experience working wise and customer service wise. Maybe because Im young whatever it is my business is no longer be brought to pep boys.

We requested an oil change, tires rotated/check tire pressure, and to check for a major power steering leak. What we got was a basic oil change with an attitude, they never checked the fluid levels of the rest of the engine/transmission. The air pressure on the tires did not get done, until I asked (more than once) to please do so. Then, regarding the major power steering leak we had, all they told us was that it was leaking so much (really??..), that they could not see where the leak was coming from, so there was nothing they could do. Although I stayed the entire time watching them work on the vehicle, not ONCE did they even attempt to clean the lines to see if they could see where the leak was coming from. At that point we knew it was safer for us to simply buy a few more bottles of power steering fluid and fill the dispenser until we could find a proper mechanic to truly fix the problem. While waiting for our vehicle, others were arriving to get quotes or ask for service, but with a negative attitude they were told that they needed to come with an appointment. We also overheard the gentleman handling the front desk ask another employee to handle another customer who was waiting for her vehicle because he had no patience to deal with her. I understand that it was a very hot day, and regardless of day, time, or event, keeping composure and being polite goes a LONG way. Not only will we NOT return to this facility, but we will NOT recommend others to go here at all. If this is an auto repair shop, isnt it their job to properly inspect the vehicle, find out the source of the problem, and offer a quote, or an alternative solution?????

Update: [9/24/16] We confronted them about the issue of neglect. The person who performed the work has been since let go, so they informed us (probably for good reason). When I mess up at work I am very quickly made aware of it. They deserved to know they messed up too. Here is what I did not expect. They refunded us the ENTIRE labor cost plus cost of repairs, and they are working diligently to regain our trust as customers. The management of this establishment is more than willing to right a wrong. Im glad my family is safe, above all. Im glad they were willing to admit fault. Issue: [8/20/16] I suppose I should have read the reviews prior to having them repair our car. The good: We took our 2012 Chrysler 200 to have the battery and alternator replaced (the battery light came on while we were driving down HWY 17, and it died in their parking lot). It wasnt cheap, but we dropped it off Saturday afternoon, and picked it up Sunday just before closing time, and over $600. The bad: The car hasnt run right since that day. We took it to a shop closer to us in N. Chas, and found that, "THE AIR CONDITIONING COMPRESSOR HAD NOT BEEN BOLTED BACK TO THE ENGINE BLOCK". So we got our car back in a timely manner, but obviously they cut corners in order to cut time. Attention to detail is NOT their strong suit. That was very neglectful and dangerous. Even if I break down in front of their shop again, I will have my car towed to a component shop. This is absolutely unsatisfactory.
