I have been using MJ Auto for 5+ years. I loved them; loyal, honest, affordable! This year "The Owner" stepped in and is now working the desk. He is the rudest, slimiest, dishonest person Ive ever known. All the workers there were personable, funny, great guys until he came in. Now its almost like theyre not even allowed to interact on a personal level with the customers. I spent more money this year fixing repairs on both my vehicles than I have in the 7+ years Ive owned them. I got one vehicle inspected and laid down $400+ just to find out it would have costed less than $100 if I did it myself (even with me being a women). Then I brought the other car up there....it needed $900+ work done to it. We fixed everything that was wrong, took it back up to get checked again and he found more stuff wrong. When asked why he didnt list it before his excuse was "we must have not seen it or forgot to write it down." REALLY!?!?! You "forgot" to write down repairs needed and didnt see the others for an inspection. That doesnt sound like youd be qualified to inspect anything if you fail to look over everything. After complaining to him several times, I went for a final inspection and it still didnt pass. I was furious. Two days later I now notice my car was leaking oil. They were were the last ones to change that. I took it to another mechanic 2 days after that and he replaced the oil plug gasket (which should have been done when the oil was changed) and it passed inspection. I would have given this place a 5+ Star prior to this year, now It doesnt even deserve 1 star!

Im a first-time customer and I had quite an experience here. Upon dropping off my car for an inspection, the gentleman who helped me—I believe his name was Chris—was helpful, friendly, and professional. He called me a couple of hours later to let me know that I would need new brakes soon as a courtesy, but that my car passed the inspection and that I could come get it any time before closing, which is 5pm. I had an unexpectedly long meeting and had to call an Uber to get to from my remote office to the shop in time. As soon as I entered the shop to pick up my car, I realized I had left my phone (which has all of my credit cards, ID, money, etc. in the case) in the Uber drivers car. In a panic, I explained what had just happened and the gentleman offered to let me use the shops WIFI to alert my Uber driver of my lost wallet/phone. Once we alerted her, she was kind enough to drive back after her latest fare which took about an hour. Even though the shop was closed, I was offered to wait in the office until my Uber driver arrived and treated to some fun conversation in the meantime. Ill definitely be back.

The perfect local garage. They do quality work at VERY resonable prices. I do most of my own work on my car but I use M&J for some of the larger projects and theyre always friendly, outgoing and honest from the very beginning. Ive only used them for domestic cars but Id recommend this garage to anyone in the Brookline, Dormont, Mt. Lebo areas. Prices are ALWAYS in line with industry standards and price quotes and wait times are usually pretty accurate. Give them a chance if you need work done on your car.

I needed to get my oil change so I stopped by Pennzoil thinking it would be quick - they couldnt get my oil drain plug open and told me I needed to take it to the dealership. Thank goodness I saw that M J Auto was close by and went to them instead - they said there was nothing wrong with my plug, cleaned up the mess that was made from my last oil change, and changed my oil. Was in and out the door in 10 minutes! Reasonable prices and fantastic service - will definitely be using them in the future!

My daughter is Duquesne student. Her car battery kept on dying. After replacing 3 batters in two months. Had car towed to M J Automotive to rule out electrical problem. Was prepared for bad news and worried about being taken advantage of because I live in New York -- seven hours away from Duquesne. M J Automotive was fair, honest, courteous and I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND.

Amazing Experience. Car was overdue for an inspection and running out of tread on the tires. I scheduled an inspection and took it in. (Knowing it would fail because of my tires). They called me and informed me of this and we discussed tires and prices on the phone. After confirming everything they had the tires ordered and placed on the same day!

Called to have an easy diagnosis (visual test) completed on my BMW, I just dont have the general tool to do it. Turns out their only tech doesnt want to touch German cars. Great, glad to know I wont take either of my Japanese or German cars here. Enjoy your dodge stratuses and chevy cobalts.
