I purchased a unique vehicle that Luxury Cars of Charleston (LCC) had in stock. The vehicle was priced very competitively and was a low production number car, hence the reason I decided to do business with LCC in spite of the 450 mile distance the dealership was from my home. Let me just state that I am not the type of person who will show up to the dealership unprepared, so let that be guidance for anyone reading this review. From the minute I contacted LCC I knew exactly what I was looking for and was somewhat flexible on my price. David Warren, the owner, is a stand up guy and was straight forward with me through our negotiations (which was done over the course of several weeks over e-mail, and a few phone calls). In my experience, the business practices and management/salesmen of most independent used car dealerships specializing in luxury cars (the rarest kind of used car dealership) are highly suspect. I never got that impression with LCC. The shop is run by stand up guys, they have a solid selection of luxury vehicles which they do a decent job of prepping for sale and for which they provide at competitive pricing, and the showroom/dealership itself is quite nice. Although LCC couldnt lower the price on the vehicle I wanted by very much, they made an effort to work with me so that I could trade-in my vehicle to them, which I did end up doing. Coming from out of town, I was certainly hesitant to commit to the vehicle sight unseen. David and his team had no problem dropping the vehicle I was interested in off at a local mechanic specializing in Mercedes and letting him inspect the car top to bottom (I arranged and paid for this myself). Additionally, LCC held the vehicle for me in spite of a few interested parties, for three weeks while we went back and forth with the details without requiring a deposit from me. After settling on a price and getting the car inspected, I made the 9 hour journey down to LCC in Charleston to inspect the vehicle. Everything had pretty much been settled so it was just a matter of me test driving the car, signing the paperwork, and off I went. The staff at LCC was friendly and there were no surprises during the process, nor did they try and sell me any "extras" once I was on the lot (one of the benefits of buying used). So far my review has been positive, in spite of the fact I gave LCC 4 stars. The reason for the deduction of 1 star was for two reasons (1) I believe the trade-in value of my car was a good bit low. LCC took my trade-in and then marked up my vehicle about $4500 for resale within a month. Business is business and car dealerships make their profit in the mark-up, however, I wanted the car they had and was willing to accept the low trade-in in return for being able to drive my vehicle down to Charleston for the trade (would have had to fly otherwise); and (2) I believe that LCC repainted my bumper before listing the car for sale, however, they used very low quality paint or failed to do multiple coats in the re-spray. After driving the car for just under a year, my bumper looks completely pock-marked to he11, with gravel pits and scratches everywhere. I simply wish they did a better job of painting the bumper, it would save me the $1000 it will likely cost to have the bumper re-painted. Again, overall, I enjoyed my experience with LCC. In fact, just a few weeks ago they sent me the secondary spare key to my car which I never received when I purchased the vehicle. It must have been misplaced at that time. I really appreciated that. Additionally, they worked with me to straighten out the DMV title transfer paperwork a month after I had purchased the car, no questions ask (make sure you know the laws of your state when transferring a car title to a different state). I have noticed that recently it appears on their website that their inventory is low. I hope this is not a sign that business is slowing down for them (perhaps its a temporary lull). I would certainly look at doing business with LCC again in the future if they have a good deal on a car I like.

After landing my first semi-successful job and doing extensive research, I decided to treat myself and invest in a pre-owened BMW 5-Series. After months of searching for the perfect bimmer, I catch a beautiful 5-Series out of the corner of my eye while driving past Luxury Cars of Charleston. Long story short, I drove the car multiple times and persistently kept in touch with Dennis in order to negotiate pricing. During a couple test drives over those next few days and multiple phone conversations, Dennis seemed to become increasingly irritable and at times, plain out rude. If it had not been the specific BMW I had been searching months for, I would have taken my business elsewhere. Seemed as if I was treated differently once the word "finance" was mentioned, but that all changed once my cash deposit, credit score of 730 and co-signers score of 850 was on the table. I left with a smile on my face because in the end, I had gotten the car Id always wanted. 14 days after Purchase, had a warning light come on and car started ticking loudly. After being diagnosed by Luxury Cars of Charleston, they insisted on charging me $105.43 for the diagnosis. I was a little shocked considering my recent large purchase. $3200 later and a battle with BMWs service department, I have my car back. Now.. 3 months later, my car had to be towed from a friends house where it "died" and left me stranded all weekend. Quick fix said BMW, even with the repair costing $1000. The bumper has also started peeling..LCC has all their front bumpers painted, obviously by an unqualified painter, and the car is simply falling apart even at its young age. Long story short...if your in the market for a used luxury car, make a road trip if you have to and find the vehicle your looking for somewhere else. Save your time, your money and headache before you think of buying a car at LUXURY CARS OF CHARLESTON... not much difference between LCC and your average redneck buy here, pay here

We purchased our Volvo from them the day it got there from a auction. They promisied to give it there star check and service the car to their standards, which they have to do before they can sell you an extended warranty. NEVER RECIVED THE STAR CHECK!!! They kept reminding us that this car is in its raw state and they would fix it up to look as clean as all the cars in the lot. Well long story short they didnt do anything other than check fluid levels and told me the car is in great condition. I asked for the star check on 4 different visits and never RECIVED it. So I got to looking and they car has two oil leaks from the main seal/ oil pan!!!! I asked there mechanic why they wouldnt fix such a important part as a leaking main seal. His reply was all the BMWS on this lot leak oil somewhere?!!!! (Wth) After the run around with guys named tony/ victor/ qumaine/ and service manager they told me that they wouldnt fix the main seal ($20 part) bc it cost thousands in labor but said the extended warranty would fix it when it fails? WOW!!!! On top of that the sunroof was broken and they all promised my wife they would fix it. Well guess what? They told us the sunroof motor tooth was broken and they wouldnt spend hundreds of dollars to fix it because we already bought the car!!! So I fix the sunroof which only needed to be reprogrammed by holding switch for 5 seconds and cleaning the broken plastic in the tracks!!! SO DONT READ MY FIRST POST SAYING HOW GREAT THEH WERE!!! If you expect a quality car go to BAKER bc this place is no different then the buy here pay here lot down the street from them on Wapoo road! Just more flashy people & waxed European cars! I hope this review saves another family from trusting the cars and people from luxury cars!!
