Aside from the price being affordable, my experience was not good. My container was delivered to the state we were moving to before telling them. There was no form of communication that let me know they were preparing to ship our items so I learned the container was shipped when I called to request access to it. We had additionally items that needed to be placed in the container. The representative said it was nothing they could do. THEN, 48hrs prior to relocating, I requested the container be delivered the day after our arrival. The rep told me it would be delivered on a Tues. which was 5 days with 3 small children without our items. They had been paid in full for their services and we had to suffer without our items. I spoke with a manager and he did nothing to try and expedite things for us. With the amount of money spent on this container, I was very disappointed that they moved and delivered MY items when they felt like it oppose to accommodating me as their customer. Overall, their service was horrible!! I notice on their site they seem to only post the "good" surveys and not the bad. I have voiced my unhappiness to them so I guess I wont get a survey since I have yet to get one. #shadyservice

HORRIBLE! Stay away from this scam company! They will deliver your container late, so youll lose a full day. They will want to charge you $50 for every sneeze. Need to schedule delivery or pick up on certain time? Pay extra $50. Need to re-schedule 24 hours in advance? Pay extra $50. Even though they say that re-scheduling 24 hours in advance is possible and free of charge. Our experience with this scam company began with waiting for the container almost to the evening that day. So we lost a full day. We wanted to load it during the daylight but this stupid company delivers late in the day. Waiting almost an entire day already made us bitter about this experience with this company, and we didnt even begin the moving process yet. I hope they wont lose our containers! I already feel stressed out and nervous because of how bad this companys service has been so far. We still have 2 more containers coming but now were stressed out about loading it on time because there is a full day lost! Dont waste your nerves, stay away from pack rat! If there was a way to give them no stars, we would do that. This lousy company doesnt deserve even one star.

My experience with 1-800-PACK-RAT was extremely easy and painless. I rented a 16 container to move from Atlanta to Dallas, with a storage period of 1 month in between. The delivery truck drivers always called ahead before delivering or picking up the container, and the guy in Atlanta was very patient and helpful while we figured out a tricky driveway situation. Their "flexible delivery" option was great and saved us a few bucks since we had a longer time frame to work with and didnt need it delivered immediately in Dallas. The unit was clean and came with lots of moving blankets, and nothing was broken or damaged when it arrived. The only hitch with the process was that I had to wait 5 days after I wanted the container delivered because their drivers were completely booked, but when I called back to check to see if anything had opened up they were at least able to move me up a day. So I would suggest calling to schedule your delivery as soon as you have the date - dont wait! Otherwise, an excellent experience, and much more affordable than other container companies. I highly recommend!

We moved from the northeast to TX and were a bit reluctant to use 800-Pack-Rat initially, due to some reviews on the internet...but we decided to go with Pack Rat over PODS due to pricing (Pack Rat was about $500 less than PODS) and crossed our fingers. We were so glad we did! Pack Rat exceeded our expectations and arrived 2 days before their guaranteed 10-business day delivery. Everyone we dealt with was very well informed and went out of their way to make sure our needs were met. I honestly have NOTHING negative to say about my experience. Everyone was courteous and very professional - including the drivers. Our items arrived with no damage and earlier than originally anticipated. A lot of the negative reviews online had to do with their delivery time...but they were up front from the beginning that they will guarantee delivery within 10 BUSINESS days ... and they did!! They also explained how they do not subcontract to third parties and they kept us informed every step along the way. We will definitely use them again if we ever need to move. Thanks!!

Best long distance moving experience! I moved from NJ to TX. I had no issues whatsoever with this company. Everything is clearly outlined for you and you only have an issue if youre either entitled and obnoxious or not paying attention. They delivered my unit when promised (I happily paid the extra $50 for a guaranteed delivery window). They picked it back up on the day they said they would, shipped it when I asked and it even arrived at my destination 4 days earlier than it was scheduled to. Im doing a self empty so there is no redelivery but Im confident it will be available when Ive scheduled it to be. I dont plan on moving long distance again but if my situation allows for it, Ill certainly consider them in the future. These one star reviews are completely situational from folks who very clearly didnt understand or didnt bother to actually listen to the terms of service.

I have used Pack Rat for years and they mostly did a good job, However, there accounting department reissued already paid invoices to me saying that they had not been paid. I had to spend 4 hours, several days and multiple emails to get them to finally agree that they had in fact made the errors.They wasted 4 hours or more of my time. Time that I had to take away from my company. So I sent them a bill for my time. My CPA charges me $65.00 an hour. So thats what I have charged them. They dont want to pay me, but they certainly want to be paid by me. This is an unfortunate circumstance that they are willing to lose a customer that has paid them over $4,000.00 last year over $260.00 (plus tax). There are other options out there. Please explore them. Dont use this company.

Deserves NO STARS!!!! This Company Is the WORST! As a single mother I look for value in everything, and Pack Rat has ZERO value. The company has no sense of customer service, are always late, unorganized, and unreliable!!!! Not only did they triple charge me and say there was nothing I could do about it but they messed up the delivery schedule about 12 times. I was very specific about the times the Pods (yes multiple) could be delivered. I checked and checked again to confirm the delivery date and time only to have the knowledge that the appointment was never switched to correct time and date. Apparently the drivers and corporate company have no sense to link and make sure the customers are happy and have their needs met! Super pissed!

Their "quote" for our long distance move was over-promised and under delivered. We were told that it would take up to 10 business days to move our container - but what they do not tell you is that certain dates might be fully booked to actually drop off the container at your address. What they also do not tell you is that 10 days is just for it to get from one distribution center to another, not door to door. You cant speak directly to anyone locally, it all goes through a call center where people say they will call you back and what that really means is you have to call and speak with a different person everytime. We backed out of using them for our move, the service was that bad.
