8/4/2017 - This is an UPDATE to my June review. TLDR - George, The MANAGER at Sun Auto REFUSED TO HONOR THEIR WARRANTY!! This is the latest update on the 2007 Honda that we have had a nightmare of a time with at Sun Auto on Medical Pkwy, Cedar Park, TX. The car was overheating AGAIN. We took the car to another auto shop that had recently opened in our area. They did their diagnosis & told us that the car needed a new Water pump, thermometer unit thingy & a complete flush. I started thinking that didnt Sun Auto just do that work recently?? - So I called Sun Auto & spoke with Homer. Homer was very nice & looked up the information & told me that YES, the exact work that I mentioned was just done BY SUN AUTO on March 31, 2017. Just 4 months ago........ I thanked Homer & told him I need to speak with family & the auto shop where the car is currently & would call him back. After speaking with family & the other repair shop we decided to bite the bullet & go back to Sun Auto for them to do the WARRANTY work because otherwise it would be costing about $800 out of pocket. So I called Sun Auto back & Homer put me on with The Manager, George. George told me that he would RATHER NOT do business with us due to the BAD REVIEWS we gave them on social media!!!!!! - I told George that I would like to be almost anywhere else than speaking to him about THIS CAR AGAIN!!! He continued to say that he didnt want to do the work as he was concerned what would happen afterwards!! Of which I was in FULL AGREEMENT with him!! I asked George if he would allow the OTHER SHOP to do the work & have Sun Auto cover the cost. That didnt go over well & he flat out said NO. (Which was expected.) ...... Then I asked if there were OTHER SUN AUTO shops in the area... He said YES & then we started discussing taking the cat to their Georgetown location......... At which point I asked that they tow our car at NO CHARGE. He told me NO..... Then he went on to say that they would of course have to do THEIR OWN DIAGNOSTIC WORK & that HE DOUBTED that it was the same thing & IMPLIED that they would FIND SOMETHING ELSE WRONG WITH THE CAR & it PROBABLY WOULDNT BE COVERED under their warranty!!!! He then said that hed call over to the Georgetown local & warn (oooops! I mean ***discuss***) the situation with that store manager.. I am SHOCKED that a MANAGER of a large chain repair shop would treat ANYONE with this type of DISRESPECT!!!! At which point I told George to forget it. And continued to tell him that I WOULD RATHER PAY $800 THAN TO DO BUSINESS WITH SUN AUTO EVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!! .................................................................................................................... Their customer service is pretty good. Unfortunately their mechanics are NOT GOOD AT ALL. Every single time we take our car to them; they fix the problem, but when we get home, we ALWAYS just so happen to have ANOTHER CAR PROBLEM. The issues are somehow never related to why the car was brought in to start with :( A few months back we brought the car in & it needed a new cooling system. A LOT of money later, we left & then found that the sound system wasnt working. (It was working FINE when we brought the car in.) We left it at that because it was too much hassle to go back. But then, the car started overheating AGAIN. Brought it back in & they couldnt find anything wrong...... And we talked to them about the sound system & of course, ***they had nothing to do with that***. So now we get the car home (after they couldnt find anything wrong with the cooling system) & the ALARM isnt working!! ............ It worked just fine when we brought the car in!!! But get the car home & BAM! Just like that, something else isnt working. :( EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. We are SO TIRED of going back & forth with them that we have just GIVEN UP!

On Monday August 7th I went in to this location for an appointment that I had to get my oil changed. After an unfortunate event and some miscommunication over a coupon and some wording I left pretty disappointed in this place and the customer service associated with it. I reached out to corporate and had a very friendly conversation with them and was told that they were unhappy with how my time spent in their store went. On the following Tuesday I received a call from Austin the store manager. He wanted to hear my side of the situation and explain to me that he himself was also very disappointed in how my time in his store was spent. He was incredibly friendly, and extremely understanding of why I left confused and disappointed. He offered me my money back (which was not my intention), and offered to credit me for another oil change the next time I come in. He went above and beyond what I could have expected. He could have easily called to say "Im sorry" and that would have been that. Speaking to who he is as a person and who he is as a business owner he exceeded my expectations of him and Sun Auto. I am completely greatful to Austin for not only contacting me but for the way he handled this unfortunate situation. I look forward to the next time I take my car in for service! * I originally gave this location a one star review because of the way my initial situation was handled by the staff at the time of my appointment. After talking to Austin that has changed. If my next visit is anything like I think it will be this will become a 5 star review. Seriously, thank you!

I became a fan of Sun Auto when I lived in Henderson, NV - they took great care of my truck. When I relocated to the Cedar Park area, I was really happy that Sun Auto was here, too. Robert and his team give me consistently GREAT service - they have given me great breaks to meet my budget, and have always kept me in the loop with what they are doing and recommendations for things they see coming with my truck. They have never misrepresented themselves or tried to sell me a service I did not need. Just today, I went out to my truck and found what I thought was a brake fluid leak underneath my truck. I called them and they told me they would make themselves available immediately to see me. When I arrived they were busy but they worked me in, checked it out, and learned that it was not the brakes but my differential hose had split - they repaired it NO CHARGE. Now that is REAL SERVICE and I cant recommend them highly enough.

Its very convenient to have your car worked on and check out the local shops instead of waiting inside. Recently we had our catalytic converter installed. After it was installed, (a few weeks later) our check engine light came on; we took it to Christian Auto Brothers and asked them what was wrong. They told us that it was the catalytic converter. We took it back to Sun Auto, were my wife was met by some arrogant man who proceeded to tell her that it wasnt the catalytic converter, (Which would have been fine if he would of at least looked at the car). He told my wife he was so good he didnt need to look at the car to know. He had been doing this for 35 years, he was that good! However to make my wife feel better, he did look under the hood. He still stood by his initial diagnosis. Go figure. Next time we will take quality over convenience! We’ll wait for the shuttle to take us back to the Ranch 1890 in Cedar Park.
