The team at Auto Check offered honest, no-charge advice and reasonable options for a recently purchased used truck that I needed to get inspection-ready. They understood that I was on an extremely limited budget and helped me fix my vehicle within what I could afford. They are not pushy and communicate very well to understand the customers needs and wants. The only explanation that I can provide for the bad reviews is that other folks arent able to communicate their issues clearly, and may not be willing to listen to the staffs honest, straightforward feedback. The best way to describe my experience would be to list events chronologically: 1 Sept: Purchased truck, replaced ignition coil that was causing #3 cylinder to misfire. Brought in for inspection and explained to the staff what I had done and what I needed. They told me that they wouldnt inspect it since I needed 50-100 more miles to reset the OBDII system after my repairs. I ran an extra 50 miles and they inspected the truck. During the inspection, they identified that two items were still not ready to be inspected due to insufficient mileage. I paid the inspection cost and they gave me 15 days to return for a free reinspection. 4 Sept: After 150 miles, the check engine light came on again. They ran the diagnostic test for $90 and identified that I needed a new catalytic converter. They also identified a random misfire that the OBDII did not detect. They were very open when I consulted with them on the benefits and drawbacks (and cost) of DIY repairs versus paying them to fix the truck. I agreed that their techs would do a better job with the catalytic converter replacement (instead of me getting a cheap aftermarket part and doing an amateur welding job to reattach it with the risk of burning up the O2 sensors). They agreed that I could save a tremendous amount of money if I replaced the plugs and coils myself (there is little risk of messing up a DIY tune-up). 8 Sept: I dropped off the truck for the catalytic converter repair (having already replaced the plugs the night prior). They removed the charge for the diagnostic and only charged for parts and labor for the catalytic converter replacement- which was significantly less expensive than other Cypress-area shops. I dropped the truck off at 7:30AM and they called me to pick it up at 12:30. Again, they told me I needed more miles before it could be reinspected successfully, compounded with the fact that they were out of inspection stickers. I was happy that they allowed me more time to put the necessary miles on the truck to reset the OBDII system. They also extended the 15 day window for free reinspect until they got more stickers in.

With a bad stretch of luck for me and my family a rock went under the undercarriage and put a hole in my AC condenser. We drove from San Antonio to Houston with no AC and when we arrived back home I went to a local auto parts store and ask them if they knew of any place that could get a new condenser in my vehicle immediately. All employees at the auto parts store informed me that auto fix Unlimited would be the place to go. I drove to the establishment walked in the door and explain to the young men behind the counter that I did need the part and that it needed to be repaired today. All five employees at Auto fix unlimited were on the phones looking for the condenser that fit my vehicle. They did everything they could. They then gave me the price that it would be to replace the condenser and I told them that that was too expensive. Craig, the store manager gave me a substantial break on the price knowing my familys circumstances. I couldnt be more happy with the experience from Auto fix Unlimited in Cypress. Well done gentlemen. You have a customer for life.

We went in to get a simple alignment done on our car and it turned into being such a horrible experience. Before coming into this place we had read one bad review online saying that they try to charge you a lot more money for things that you dont even need. We decided to try our luck because they had a good deal on Groupon. We got the alignment done and then they told us that they had done the best that they could, but they would need to order a new camber kit for each wheel in order to get the wheels fully aligned. They ended up quoting us $750 right after we had spent only like $70 for the alignment. I took our car into another mechanic shop a couple of days later to get an alignment check and they confirmed that I would need to get a camber arm replaced, but for only one of the wheels. The quote they gave us was $300 which also included another alignment. Needless to say I was very disappointed with the service offered by Auto Fix Unlimited. They were very rude and just wanted to get as much money out of us as possible.

When in to get an inspection on Saturday. The man who helped me seemed to be pretty occupied by the golf antics on TV to pay attention to my needs. While I was waiting I asked him if they did winshield chip repair and if they would do it it today, he said yes. When they were done inspecting I paid and asked if they fixed the winshield, he said they were out of resin and would get some in soon. I showed up again a week and a half later. There was only one man behind the counter and was to busy to pay attention to me, finally I asked him if they could fix my windshield chip. He told me they didnt do chip fixes. When I preceded to tell my story, he said I must be confusing them with another Auto Check. I went to the car repair area for a second opinion and asked one of the mechanics the same question, and he confirmed that they do not fix chips. The inspection was me checking to see if I wanted this place to work on my vehicle in the future, they will not be getting any of my business.

DO NOT GO HERE. Got ripped off. I took my SUV to fix AC problem. They filed it up with dye and freon to detect the leak and mentioned it does not have any leak. These cost me $169. I was promised if the problem comes back bring it back and it will be fixed. It is under waranty. . Well the AC begin not to cool and I brought it back and I was slapped with over $ 700.00 qoute to fix the problem , Apprently the condenser need to replaced to fix the problem. Parts was 350 and labor was over 350.if the work is under waranty I should not be charged for any labor. The parts Is also over priced. I checked with auto zone and the condenser was half the price. I find the person in charge at this place very unreasonable. I did not agree with the quote When I rook the car back the freon was totally drained off and now I have hot air blowing on my face even worst than the condition I previously had.

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE! Went here for a valve replacement and all they could do was put in a used valve for and had to pay 600$ in labor cost! With my inspection coming up this month, they man said they would include this in the price... hah not he provided no proof that they completed inspection, then tells me to log into this website for proof that they inspected my vehicle and it shows no proof that they performed the inspection. they never answer the phone i will call multiple times a day and they never answer its like they know its me lol. Over all if you come here be prepared for the highest prices in the Houston area, the say they throw in this and that its a deal. if you know what the problem is get a quote and call some other place because i promise you that you would find it cheeper somewhere else!
