Dont use this shop I was referred by the Tx Dept of Public Safety because my car did not pass inspection and was told that this shop would do the inspection and if my car did not pass inspection then I would have to repair the car though a certified shop which this shop is so when the car failed the mechanic run diagnostics and then told me what was needed to pass inspection and I told the mechanic that I had already repaired those items so I did not think that the car was going to pass inspection with that work but he showed the computer codes and I so I agreed. I left my car and the next day shop calls and said they had made the repairs and the car passed inspection and was ready to go much to my surprise I paid for repairs and was delight because I had had a lot of problems with my car passing the emissions test. I pickup the car and within 48 hours the check engine light comes back on and I call the shop and they say to bring the car back in. They shop then tells me that something else is going on with my car and I leave the over night one more time. I get a call the next and they give an estimate on repairs and I agree and I ask if he is sure that this will repair the problem I am having that is causing the check engine light to came on and the mechanic says he is sure so I agree. I pick up my car the following day and this time I get the red light within 24 hours and I am very upset because I know that this shop is not any more able to make the repairs than the shop that I paid $1,500.00 before. So by this time I had spent another $1,500.00 to make same repairs as before and was back in the same spot as before. I was very angry. I let the shop know that I was going to report them to the state because they are supposed to be experts who have the additional certifications required by the state to make repairs on vehicles that do not pass inspection and the mechanic said he would look at my car again and this next time I was told that he had figured out the problem and he would do me a favor he said if I bought the part needed he would install it for free. The mechanic said the part was $850.00 or so dollars and the part could not be bought from any place else then the dealership. So I of course tried to find the part online for a cheaper price in the end the only place I could find the part was the dealership. I could not afford part especially after paying for the repairs that did not fix the problem. I told the mechanic that I would try and get the money as soon as possible. I had reservations about taking my car back to a shop were the problem could not be diagnosed correctly and spending $850.00 for a part that may or may not fix the issue. Of course that time of year was approaching and needed to do something. I decided not to take it back to the same shop. I found another mechanic and I explained how I tried to make the repairs needed for the inspection in the past and he run a diagnostic and did some of the same work not all and I had the same light the check engine light came on and the mechanic continued to find the real problem and said it had to be the catalytic converter. I was skeptical but agreed and I had to spend another $1,600.00 for the repairs and finally no check engine light. My advise is to do your home work. Repairing a car is not rocket science and your mechanic should be qualified to do the job especially if the state gives the certification to the shop.

Overall I feel Precision Tune excels in routine maintenance i.e. (oil changes, tire rotations...). I however have been greatly disappointed with the management at this specific location. I was recommended the Lifetime Brakes Service package for a 2007 Toyota RAV4 after roughly 85,000 miles as the technician noticed slight rotor warping and low/critical pad thicknesses. I wasnt reluctant in the least to have Precision Tune perform the work. After a few weeks of driving, (moving back across the country), I began to notice a squealing noise when breaking and a grinding noise near the rear of the vehicle when the breaks were not applied. I took the vehicle to a local Toyota dealership where I became aware of a recent recall concerning the rear suspension arms, hoping this would fix the problem. To no avail. I revisited the Toyota dealership to inspect the brakes, suspecting them to be the culprit. The senior technician (40+ years experience) mentioned to me the rotors had not been turned/machined when the brake shoes and pads were replaced (part of the Lifetime Brake Service offered by Precision Tune). I have contacted this specific location concerning this FRAUD to which they declared a Precision Tune technician had to inspect the problem. Needless to say upon hearing that the work Precision Tune promised to do was not actually provided, I could not nor would not trust anything a technician would have noted if I had a Precision Tune technician inspect the brakes. Furthermore, their lack of concern for one of the most important mechanical parts of the vehicle is astounding. I am currently following up with corporate requesting a refund of the so-called work provided, given the work was not actually provided. Precision Tune has lost a loyal customer at all of their locations due to the lack of professionalism and honesty at the Precision Tune located in Dallas, TX (N Central Expressway).

I read ppls reviews about this place before I purchased my groupon and I thought I would have a good experience like others CLAIM. I went there twice and would never go back. The first day I went I go there about 5:20 and asked when they took the last car. One of the "mechanics" said "now" as if I was bothering them. I went the next day which was a Friday about 5:10 and it was a rainy day so there was not 1 single customer when I got there. One "mechanic" was sitting in his car when I got out to ask about service. I told them what I needed and he asked if I had a groupon. When I responded that I did, he immediately dismissed me saying that it took an hour to do an oil change and tire rotation so I had to come back. These ppl are just plain lazy and rude and I will NEVER EVER return to this place!

Attention-to-detail that you dont find at most service stations. So I went in for brakes, stainless brake lines, brake bleed, and transmission flush and fill. I brought all my own parts and fluid and it was no problem. Labor cost was very reasonable. I was gonna do it myself initially, so I knew exactly what to do. The tech, David, surprised me with how correct and meticulous he was. Bled the brakes according to the order I asked for (manufacturers order), sprayed the wheel wells down with brake cleaner to get off the caustic brake fluid, greased the wheel studs, rotated the tires just because he had them off, and torqued the lug nuts in criss-cross proper order. Theyve got a repeat customer for sure.
