I almost died because of the scam they pulled. Its taken a long time for me to write this, but Im still dealing with repairs to fix the damage that they did, and its preventing me from going to work, so Im finally writing a review about what they did. It started in summer of 2015. My AC stopped working, and I went here because my house is in Lakes of Parkway. They "fixed it." It was over a thousand dollars. The problem is that I drive to Houston from out of town, and I left immediately after picking up my car. I had no time to fully examine what they did. For a year, I dealt with an AC that wouldnt work if I was parked. It constantly clicked on and off. It never got cold enough. Finally, it broke completely... when I was back in Houston this summer. I brought it back to the place. They said they would fix it in a day. It took three days. By the time it was fixed, I had to leave immediately to drive to Louisiana. I literally picked up my car and started my drive on the same day. Within two hours of my drive, the AC stopped working. This was in August. It was a sunny day. It was about 95 degrees. I have a black car with a black interior. Nevertheless, I kept driving. At a certain point, I was about to pass out from how hot it was. I decided to stop and get water at a gas station. I tried to pull off on an exit. My steering failed. My brakes failed. Miraculously, though, I managed to not wreck my car by somehow getting it into a BK parking lot and using the structure at the end of a parking space to stop my car. (I dont know what those things are called.) I was stranded in Lafayette by myself and had to get a hotel. Keep in mind that I am a twenty-one year old girl. I then found a mechanic there. Turns out that this place had destroyed my car so badly that I had to get MULTIPLE PARTS of my engine replaced. I almost died because they didnt realize that I wouldnt even be in Houston to be scammed by them again. Id say the bright side is that they actually paid for all of the work that I had to get done on my car because of what they did.... probably to avoid a lawsuit. Seriously, though. They literally had no issue putting my life in danger to make more money. Please do not go here. My car still has issues related to this situation. My car is once again in the shop. Go literally anywhere else. You could be saving your life. If even one person reads this and avoids coming here, Ill feel better. Im sorry it took so long for me to write this.

If you want to waste your money go to this place. They will charge you for stuff that doesnt need to be fixed. when I took my car they told me i would recieve a call with whats wrong and how much. When they called I was told it was going to be 1255.00 to fix . I said there is no way I can pay that and would come pick it up and take it somewhere else. The manager called me back and asked what my budget is. I told him 750.00. He told me he would be albe to do it for that price. So let me get this straight, I was being overcharged at least 500.00 if I went with their first price? Thats a 66% overcharge, for the same exact service and parts they just quoted me $1255 for not 30 minutes before. Before you take your vehicle to these guys ask yourself these important questions: -Do you like feeling taken advantage of? -Do you feel bad for all the poor mechanic shops like this, having to get by on only $85/hour in labor charges? -Do yo want to give a dollar each to 500 beggars but dont have the time to drive all over Houston to do it because you have to take your car to the shop but still want to give away that $500 thats burning a hole in your pocket and want to kill two birds with one stone? -Are you well stocked on Vaseline or other similar lubricants to help you deal with the realization that your about to have a dirty fist forcibly inserted into your, er, wallet and then remove everything inside leaving you bewildered, empty, and aware that something terrible has happened, but you cant quite explain what? If you answered yes to any of the above questions then Auto Check is the ideal service shop for you. Otherwise you might want to take a look into a more ethical mechanic.

I took my car in because it wasnt shifting properly into 2nd 4th and reverse. They told me I needed a brand new transmission and it would cost 2,800 dollars. I drove my car home and fixed the problem within an hour, the shifter was hitting on a pipe and they wanted to charge me 2,800 for a brand new transmission! I took my car back to them like an idiot because they had done work for me in the past and I felt one bad technician with one bad diagnoses shouldnt label a shop. Well this time they had my car for 2 weeks, and all they did was replace a timing belt. After the first week they called and told me the timing belt was on but all my valves were bent and they needed to replace everything, it was going to cost me 1,200. I went in and they hadnt even replaced the timing belt. How are you going to tell some one they needed a 1,200 dollar repair when you havent fixed the original issue?!?!? After they replaced the timing belt they stuck with there original garbage that the valves were bent, when I ask them what cylinders were leaking they said they couldnt do a pressure test unless they ripped everything out and sent it to the shop. MORONS!!! WTF kind of shop are you running. If you want to get ripped off take your car here.

Took my car in with catalitic and EGR problem, based on a computer reading. I brough in the EGR valve, but they suggested that this was not the problem. They did an injector service, changes O2 sensor and other miscelaneous items. Also, they installed the EGR valve that I purchased in a local autopart. The charged me $719 and wrote a note in my receipt that if the check engine comes back on, I would need to spend $300 for some additional service. Well, guess what? After just 3 days my check engine light came back on! I checked the computer readings and the case still shows the original problems. They did not solve the problem after charging me $719. Very incompetent and irresposible practice. In addition, they spent over a week in a job that they promised could be done in 2-3 days. I do not recommend this place.

Congratulations Guys! Keep up the good work! Several days ago my ABS light went on. I took my car to a mechanic shop in my neighborhood Katy which they told me my car needs and ABS Module and that it was dangerous if I did not fix it and It was gonna cost me $1100. I called the dealer to check the price and sure enough the dealer price was even higher about $1400. A coworker sent me to Auto Check. They told me its the ABS sensor. They fixed it with just about $220, far less than the price I had expected. After about 200 miles the ABS light is still off. I really appreciate their work and honesty.
