I had a competing Plumbing Service do the initial visit and assessment on Friday, January 15th of a suspected Slab Leak. This plumber wanted to start busting out the walls in my house to search for the leaking pipe at a very high hourly rate all the while distressing me with the prospect of having destruction caused to my home that I would then be responsible for the repairs. I was not too happy when I could not reach that companys management to discuss my concerns, so I opted to search for a replacement Plumbing Service. On Monday, January 18th, when I was still unable to talk with someone in ownership or management of the first Plumbing Service by late morning, in comes Aramendia Plumbing (perhaps because alphabetically theyre first - but their website stated that they could do the initial search WITHOUT destruction to any walls) and first difference we noted was the level of calmness and the reassuring demeanor of the plumbers (so thankful because my wife who was in attendance was harried and uncomfortable dealing with the first plumber). In any case, since the Aramendia plumbers had already been out on a previous call from quite a distance away, his arrival later in the afternoon (I implored with the dispatch that I needed someone the same day that I had dismissed the other service while my wife took time off from work) and did an initial assessment but through exhaustion and the late hours, it was decided he return early the next day to get a fresh start. So they returned early as promised refreshed and with clearer head (his words) he made additional evaluation of the leak and was able to assess that it was a toilet upstairs and not a slab leak. He did required repair on the toilet line and cleared the constant water running noise that prompted the need for a Plumber Service in the first place and instead of looking at a possible $6000 worth of repairs to a Slab Leak he was able to correctly (without destruction to my home) determine the problem and did the repairs all for under 10% of the dreaded worst case scenario. THANK-YOU ARAMENDIA and I put those in caps because I am shouting for all to hear that there are caring and professional Plumbing Service to meet your needs. And yes, they will be my first call should I ever face a plumbers need in the future!

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. I called them to repair a broken backflow pipe on a brand new home. ARAMENDIA informed me that the pipe had frozen due to cold weather. They repaired it and reinsulated the pipe so it wouldnt freeze and break again. I was informed that it was a lifetime repair. I PAID ALMOST $1300 FOR THE REPAIR. Other plumbers had later informed me that I was overcharged and it could have been repaired for much less. Nevertheless, three years later another freeze and of course the pipe breaks. I call ARAMENDIA again and they informed me that they can fix it for another $1300!!! THIS WAS AFTER I WAS TOLD BY THEM THAT THE PIPE WOULD NOT FREEZE AGAIN AFTER THEY REPAIRED IT AND INSULATED IT. I contacted ARAMENDIAS manager, ALBERT JOSEPH, who informed me that ARAMENDIAS work is only good for a year and "common sense should tell you that no insulation will keep a pipe from freezing in 20* weather." If that was truly the case then all of my neighborhood (and Bexar County) will have to have repair work every time it freezes--not to mention the rest of country. In short, the manager told me that ARAMENDIA would not cover their previous work. Again, I didnt demand that they give me a new sprinkler system for my yard or something simple like a new air filter. This is something that they repaired previously and when it failed under same conditions for which they were initially called they refused to stand by their work. Also, this was not a $75 home visit change. The repair was approximately $1300--a cost that few of us can take lightly. I have used ARAMENDIA before more than once and have had good service. I would believe that if you called a company to repair something it would be repaired to the level beyond what caused it breakdown in the first place. And if it did break, the company would make it right by doing it until they got it right. ARAMENDIA is not that company. There are dozens of other plumbing companies in Bexar county and while they may not be as well-known as ARAMENDIA, I will call them instead. If you need plumbing or some other service learn from my experience-- CALL SOME OTHER COMPANY BUT DO NOT CALL ARAMENDIA.

Wade Cameron and Chris Posada are absolutely top notch! You will not be disappointed if you "by name" these two professionals. When replacing my water heater, the service staff were willing to get on the line to provide insightful experience regarding the multitude of choices out there. When I made my decision on a specific model to install, they were at my house within a couple hours to give me an estimate--regardless if it wasnt a line of water heater they carried. After accepting the estimate, they took out the old unit while another Aramendia staff delivered the new unit--WITHIN ONE HOUR...remember this unit isnt sitting in their warehouse. Wade then walked me through the changes in code and, in laymans terms, how they were approaching it with this installation. They were comfortable with me watching them work and I was impressed with their outright replacement of anything from the wall forward which could fail in the future...PVC stub-out, replace it with copper...20 year-old ball valves and cut-offs, update them...highlight on their use of solid copper and copper flex tube versus less reliable flex tubing. It is obvious they werent trying to save a little time and money to get to the next job. This approach may account for some reported higher cost, but I found their prices reasonable and have iron-clad confidence that this will last another 20 years. If that werent enough, when I inquired about whether a point-of-use heater was recommended for a specific problem, he recommended a more reliable, and BTW CHEAPER alternative. They even had the necessary parts on the truck so were able to complete without a parts run. Pure gold, right? Honestly, in an era where consumers have had to become quasi-experts to get things done right, its nice to see a truly professional outfit focused on repeat customers rather than a point-of-sale mentality. Aramendia will be my first call next time!

We had an issue where our air conditioner was leaking water under the unit inside our house. This was causing some water to build up in a little drainage area right by the intake vents in the wall. We asked these guys to come out and fix it. They told us that our entire system was outdated and that we had a freon leak. They also said that our freon was the old kind and that was why we needed to replace everything inside and outside. We actually had no problem with heating or cooling at this point, we just wanted the leak fixed. We were quoted $7500-9000 to replace our whole system with interest free financing for 60 months of course! There was no plan whatsoever to deal with the leak as part of this quote. We ended up calling a small local guy who was recommended by a co-worker. He came out and blew out the line and cleared the blockage. He explained everything about how to keep that from happening again. He also told us that our interior unit was not outdated and could work with the new freon if our exterior system were ever to go out (the exterior is quite old) as long as the installer flushes it. He even told us that for the exact some product these guys offered, he would only charge between $4500-5500, but he stressed that we dont need to replace our entire system, only the exterior and some adapter piece. Needless to say, this whole experience made me feel like these guys wanted to take advantage of us. Our air conditioning works fine. They didnt even attempt to address our issue of the water build up which was the reason we called. They could have replaced our whole system for $9000 and we would still have had the water issue if they didnt blow the clog out of the drain as part of the install. I would be very careful to trust these people on their word if they say you need a new system installed.
